  1. You have to admit Toyota are a bunch of homo's. And i also have the shift issue at high RPM's.
  2. Bad luck man. I done the same thing in a holden ute. Both of the wheels on the right hand side of the car slammed hard into the gutter and looks like yours does now. Alot of things had to be replaced and if i went through insurance it would of cost around 4500 for parts alone. It is a bad feeling i know, i did mine 2 hours before midnight mass on easter, oh what a bad feeling! :(
  3. Looking good mate. Always nice to see something different!
  4. I love my sportivo and will probably have it until i have earned enough money to buy a Honda Civic EG with enough dosh for an engine swap.
  5. Whoever is looking for the Toyo Proxes T1R check out this link: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40859 JDMYard is located in Padstow, Sydney and are selling these tyres for 165 fitted and balanced each. Bargain if you ask me...too bad i already bought some damn tyres for the subaru.
  6. Mate if you want a cheap pair of shocks go down to pedders and they have those sports ryder suspension shocks. You could however opt for TRD shocks which are sold on the trdsales.com website. I also am looking to lower my car and the insurance company says i cannot lower it more than 30mm, so it looks like i will have to make do with some Lows.
  7. Nice man sounds like you did have some fun. How did it fare against the other cars on the track (in corners and in straights)? Now all you need to do is put a set of coilovers and sway bars on it and take it back to the track and compare it. :)
  8. I love my Stivo, but theres no way in hell it would keep up with a SS or XR8, sorry, unless they aren't even trying. Its better to compare it to a six.
  9. I'd Rather buy a Ford XR5 turbo :). Much better platform and IMO a better looking car. Although if Renault AUS were to bring out the clio v6 i think i would have to mortgage the house again!
  10. Theres only so much cred that comes with owning an Evo, a lotus on the other hand...:o
  11. With the tyre on fully inflated? thats pretty decent...my guess would be around 11-12kg's for each rim.
  12. I'd be enticed to join...if there was more than 20 people on the forum lol.
  13. Lol very interesting. I will take note of that thanks.
  14. Toyota apply the same manufacturing principles around the world no matter what plant. An example of this a NUMMI in North America where Toyota implemented their work principles into a GM manufacturing plant and the results where enormous. Higher worker morale, more efficient workers and most of all BETTER quality products.
  15. Hey man...i can't really describe the noise but i can tell you that it goes away when you put the clutch in...hope that helps.
  16. Lol right now its sitting at the dealership with everything dismantled. How can i be happy? I just bought the car and this happens...it really isn't a time for happiness, more so concern.
  17. They gave us a loan car, a 03 Corolla Ascent. But the point is having to wait 1 month so we can have the car back again, and its only a 2 month old car, really frusturating.
  18. So my Stivo went in on monday for its first service. We had a concern about a strange g'box noise and told the guys and they checked it out. They said they needed the car for a few days to replace some bearings in the g'box...ok fine no dramas there its only a few days. Then today we recieve an interesting call from Peter Warren Toyota saying that we wont have the car for a MONTH because they have to order and replace the reverse gear from Japan and it will take approx. 21 days to get here, not to mention how long it will take to install. This is really frusturating as it is only a 2 month old car with low kays and already something needs to be replaced.
  19. GTO is a 4wd coupe, which is twin turbo - maybe built to challenge the GTR32-33, and supra of the days? FTO is an NA powerd 4 cylinder MIVEC engine - to target the ever growing integra, civic phase of VTEC - which is still going on...lucky for us it's the VVTI or VVTI-L that's fueling our blood lust :P was being unproductive at work today :o , and typed in ' civic vs corolla vs mazda' - OZ honda and OZ mazda ppls are crazy every known insult under the sun has been thrown at the STIVo and how it's not as cracked up as the data shows it to be! <_< when's the next drag day in melbourne.... :D Believe me i know. Im always on the Ozhonda forums, and some of disregard the stivo altogether. They reckon its not worth the money, yet years ago when the Civic vti-r was sold in aus it cost more than a stivo does now and it has WAY less features and less performance...interesting. As for the FTO...the tiptronic's are slugs and before i bought the Stivo i was researching them and there seems to be alot of problems associated with the tiptronic box and other areas of the car. GR...umm no can anyone say ***** weak? GPX...they do have a nice sound, 2.0 v6 beautiful engine but it just isnt that quick...i reckon it would be about the same as the Stivo if not, just a little bit quicker (Manual only, the tiptronic is very poor).
  20. Wow bit more than i was expecting but cheaper than a new set of rolling stock nonetheless.
  21. Hey guys since RME1 didn't get an exact response on powdercoating the stock sportivo rims, i'll try again. Im very interested in powdercoating the sportivo rims a dark bronze color and would like to know places in Sydney where this can be done. Have any of you ever had rims powdercoated before? and if so how much would it cost and is it durable?
  22. Handling would be up there, but the ride quality on bumpy roads would be teh suck.
