  1. My only concern is that, since I got my 2007 build aurion a week ago. I'm wondering if I will ever get a letter because I did not get my Aurion from a Toyota Dealer but from a Ford dealer but it still has Toyota Warranty until March 2010.
  2. Why did they stop making TRD's? I was thinking of getting one one day when I'm a rich man
  3. I don't know where it is. But can I ask a question? Why do you want to install a fuel saver? A lot of these are gimmicks! Also, you buy a nice, some what expensive car and you want to be penny pinching a few cents or dollars and thats if the fuel saver even works or ruin the cars power? I didn't buy this car to save petrol, heck, I use less petrol in this car then what I did in my 97 camry 4cyl which which went at snails pace so I'm very happy. Some people got it worse. Not to mention, when I went overseas 3 months ago, ULD91 was $4AU a litre, no joke(even got pics to prove it) So when I paid $1.48 for premium in aus it feells like I'm filling up for free compare to what other countries are paying. Fill her up with V-power full tank like I did last night and enjoy the car :P
  4. that was a good buy for a prodigy, I got my 07 sx6 in may this year similar k's in melbourne for $24,300 at least 8 to 10 k cheaper than any in tassie. only extra was flying over and bringing it back on the boat. Wow, thats an excellent price. Did you get it from a dealer or private sale? Just picked up an 08 sx6 today, regional queensland and got it cheaper than I could in brisbane! Gotta love ex-govt cars. Next step is to replace the stereo.... Yeah, same here. In my 97 camry I had completely changed the system and I miss the sound of a quality amp, sub, speakers + new head unit setup :(. I want my AUX and USB inputs back!!
  5. So you are saying that all this time before asking, you didn't even bother pressing buttons and trying this out for yourself Could have easily answered your own question. I know, sorry. I feel a bit dumb now. Yesterday it was cold in Melbourne and I had a mate in the car and going down to the city to pick up another friend. Windows kept getting foggy and the car got stuffy. Since I just got it two days ago, while driving on the freeway I had to keep fiddling around with the controls, trying to figure out what everything does and how it works like audible speed warning and cruise control etc. And the aircon annoyed me the most because I pushed every button to get it to turn on but nothing did until I had to hit Auto. For some weird reason I never pressed the fan control buttons. Doh! And having to get the turtle wax off is going to be a pain in the **** having to wash the car again. I spent 4 hours giving the car a full detail from leather seat treatment, to dash windows etc and spent heaps of time on the outside paint job and engine bay. After giving it a good polish, the car felt gritty, and not very nice. Was not smooth at all. Since its a second hand, its been sitting outside at the lot for a while. I'll pick up a clay bar today if I got time after work and get at it on Sunday(again).
  6. Yeah, when I press the fan up down button it overrides the auto function and auto turns off and I can set it to what ever I like. But its annoying that it won't remember my settings each time I turn it off and back on again. Basically, the "Auto" button is the "On" button. Edit: This is completely irrelavant, but DJKOR I was looking at your pics of the car after its been washed, clayed and polished. I love it, today I washed my Aurion, wash and wax, then shammied it out, and went straight to wax. Which resulted in my paint feeling like fine sand paper :(. I should of used the claybar to get the rough out! Edit again! Wow thanks a million guys, just went to the car and tried that out! I set my mode to feet and face, turned Dual off, then pressed the fan up button and it turned on! I then turned the car off, and back on, and when I pressed the fan up button, it remembered all my settings. Excellent! This was really bugging me out today. Thanks heaps :-). Love this car more and more.
  7. Okay damn no bluetooth. Oh well, I have a blueant (new ones) and they are awesome but wouldn't have minded if the car had its own. Well about the aircon, that didn't quit answer my question. Is the ONLY way to turn on the heater/aircon by pressing Auto? Because as soon as I do the thing turns up full blast with aircon on, how do I make it remember my last settings??? For example, I always have it head and feat, but everytime I hit off and then to turn it back on I have to press Auto which then resets all my settings back to the aircon being on and ONLY face being selected. What if I don't want "auto" and just want a simple on off button that remembers my last settings?
  8. Does my 2007 Prodigy have a bluetooth function? On the CD player screen with I look close, I can see the the letters "BT" and the bluetooth logo ghosted in. But I can't find anywhere how I can use it. Checked the manual and still nothing! Also, how do I turn on the aircon . I only know to turn it on by pressing Auto, and when I do, the thing turns on full blast with my last settings completely changed. How do I simply turn it on, so my last settings are remembered? Its getting really annoying!
  9. DJKOR, you think thats bad? Last night, (this isnt a manual calculation but from the trip computer) it said 15L/100Km! I was gob smacked, then I started driving like a granny this it just dropped a .2
  10. Thanks for the quick reply. I just checked, no yellow line or anything. So my next question is, according to my service book, the car just got serviced. And the next one is 7500KM away. Since I bought the car from a ford dealer yesterday, should I wait if any letter comes or should I call up Melbourne City Toyota and enquire about it or wait for a letter (if I even do get one) or just get it fixed 7500Km when I have to go back and get the car serviced again.
  11. Hi guys, got my aurion last night. Great car I'm not sure if mine has been replaced, but if you look at the picture, is Number 1 meant to be replaced or Number 2? http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/5127/dscn2338.jpg
  12. Doh! I never actually went to page 2. I didn't even know there were pictures, I thought it was just post 1 and 2 on the first page. My bad, well thanks heaps for that. Okay, when I check it out tomorrow at the dealer before I pick it up, if its not the correct hose, is there anything I can do to get it changed? Should I just give Toyota a call and ask or will somehow the letter come to my house if Toyota finds out that someone has bought a Aurion.
  13. The hose is the part with the yellow mark on it. If you enlarge the picture that Lewie posted, you will see the yellow line is on the black rubber hose. This is the part that you should be looking at. If you still can't picture it... have a look at the very first post of this thread. Yeah I see the yellow line. But what I wanted to know is where the hose is? Like when I pop the front, where in the engine bay should I even be looking to find this hose in particular? All the pictures are only photos of the hose, but where is it in the engine? Where should I be looking? I can't even make out where abouts in the engine the photos have been taken from.
  14. Hey thanks for the picture! But could you do me a small favour! Could you zoom out a bit with the camera and maybe with like Paint, put an arrow pointing towards the hose? I still can't seem to figure out which one it is, because if mine isnt done yet I want to get it done before my Aurions warranty expires! By the way, are these replacements free of charge? If the hose has not been changed, what should I say to the toyota dealer when I call up? I'm asking because I bought a used Aurion from a dealer yesterday.
  15. that was a good buy for a prodigy, I got my 07 sx6 in may this year similar k's in melbourne for $24,300 at least 8 to 10 k cheaper than any in tassie. only extra was flying over and bringing it back on the boat. Wow, thats an excellent price. Did you get it from a dealer or private sale?
  16. Thanks guys. Yeah the Km might be a bit high but it's not that bad for a 07 model. Plus if it had any more lower k's it would have been completly out of my budget.
  17. AGE: 20, 21 soon! SEX: Male STATUS: Single to mingle. REASON FOR BUYING: Needed a family car but its mainly for me to drive. Love my new prodigy! Other reasons? Do I really need to give any? Its a Toyota, enough said. :P
  18. Just purchased a 2007 Prodigy from a dealer $24,000 drive away, 60,000K on the clock with full service history. It was only used as a company car with one driver, back seats have NEVER been used, the boot is clean, the spare tyre looks like it came out of the factory just yesterday and the inside is immaculate. Overall the car is in tip top condition, also has a factory fitted spoiler and Aurion floormats, its currently at the dealer, put my deposit in and going to pay in full in the next couple of days. Before I pick it up they are going to do a final checkup, give it a nice clean/detail and out the door she comes. It also still has Toyota warranty until march. Just wondering if I picked up a bargain with a car in that state and for that price from a dealer? Because looking at carsales, even private sales are like $23,500 then you add an extra $1000 for transfer then most of those cars the rego is expiring soon and another $600 gone there! Also I already looked at 3 private sales and they were poorly looked after, never cleaned! The dealer was perfect, so from what I seen etc, did I really grab a bargain for a 2007 prodigy 60,000K for $24,000 drive away? P.S I might also add, the dealer said the car hasnt been there for "too long" but it was a dead set give away it was there for a looooooooong time. The brake disk things had rusted, after our 10 minute test drive, looked at the brake disk things and the rust was gone and they were shiny again. Also, the engine is in immaculate condition. After a test drive, popped the front, no smells, no leaks, no nothing. Just knock on wood it stays like this for many many Toyota years.  EDIT: Might I also add, it was first up for $28,000 then reduced to $25,000 (I guess after it stayed in the lot for a long time) and then I got him to knock off another $1000 with the final price of $24,000 Drive Away!
  19. So does anyone drive an Aurion these days with there P-platers? Any trouble from cops? (Vic particular)
  20. Anyone can shed some light on this issue? Is it because its overdue 500KM or something else?
  21. Thanks for the extra info. I feel much better now. Huge bummer is that I now need to wait before I can do anything because its now a Friday and I'm way to busy with work tomorrow. I have to wait 3 long days for my Aurion now :(
  22. Hey, thanks for the info. I still think I will get the dealer to look at the button because it just does not feel right. I can hear the spring noise when I press it. And that exactly pretty true. It did sound like air when I pressed it, from Park, when I would hit the accelerator hard to rev the engine it would sound like a burst of air for a split second. I know a mate from Melb city toyota which I'll be taking it there myself and getting the service done myself just to give that extra satisfaction knowing that the current owner didn't do a slouchy job and then sell the car to me. By the way, I'll be the third owner. It was first purchased (according to the books) by a uni professor in NSW and that the current owner purchased it from Le Mans toyota here in Melb. He is only selling it because he how has a hybrid which he cuts tax cuts what ever from work so he purchased another car and selling this one to pay off the hybrid. Huuuuuuuuuge fingers crossed that its decent :(. So scared to be honest. Its an expensive car and I'm using money I don't have. So its a gamble.
  23. I'm looking around for an Aurion, and I came across a private sale Prodigy 2007. Test drove it and all goes well. For a few things, the service is overdue 500KM, and that when I sat dead quiet in the car and listened for a several seconds I can hear and see the engine rev's jumping(whilst in park). But very very faintly. Also, the shift lock button. I think its stuffed. When I press it, is something on my dashboard or on the screen, is it suppose to show something that I'm turning shift lock on or off? But I press it and nothing happens at all. And the button is very hard to press, and I can hear like a spring bounce back when I took my finger finger off it after depressing it. The vehicle is still under warranty. ALL four tyres need to be changed which he said he will deduct price off to compensate them. Another thing is that, while in park. When I press the accelerator the engine sounds great, but when I press really hard, the VERY first sound that comes from the engine is that like its choking. Besides those, the car is really nice. I'm not sure if I'm being picky or not. As the car still has warranty and they better fix anything for free at the dealer!! Like that shift lock button. It feels like you know how you have sticky keys on your keyboard after spilling coke? Thats how the button felt and after letting go the button doesnt stay depressed AND I can hear the spring bounce back inside the button! <_< Help will be very appreciated as I'm thinking of giving him a deposit tomorrow!
