  1. Oh okay, well, it looks like they are ALL the same. Sorry about that, my net is capped at dialup speeds ATM so looking at pictures or researching for pictures is woefully painful(To view those pics you gave me I had to look at them through my iPhones 3G connection as thats even faster then my home connection ATM as I also have pic loading disabled on Firefox until I'm uncapped) When I seen it like that it looks quite dodgy at first because it looks like its been done after the factory. Its comforting to know thats how it really is and its nothing dodgy. Thanks :)
  2. So I noticed this weird inconsistency in the engine bay, a part that looks a bit off, the easiest way for me to explain is for you to have a look at the picture I took: Okay, well the red arrows show the inconsistency in the black tubing around the dark green tubing. The blue arrow shows how Tube 1 and Tube 3 are both the same length in black tubing. And the second tube has the shortest black tube, and ALSO the bolt(the one that is circled in red) is completely different from the rest of the tubes. Why is it like this?? Is anyone else's Aurion like this? Reason I ask is because the second tube that has the shortest black tube, when I look carefully, it looks like its been cut off because it doesn't have a straight cut like Tube 1 and 3 which are both same length. Here is another pic:
  3. Too bad we can't do things like that too our cars. We would get defected the minute you get out of your driveway. But none the less that is one sexy ride, classy all the way.
  4. Thanks for the help on how to do it properly. Not sure if its with the adhesive primer, what exactly is that? This is what it said in the email:
  5. Hey guys, I got around to email couple of dealers for quotes, one was a total rip off. They wanted $220(inc fitting). And the second one wanted, ready for it?... $114 :D :D :D They said an extra $55 for them fitting it or $114 if you fit it. Very happy with the outcome as it seems as though I got the cheapest quote, the cheapest someone mentioned here was like $120? :P So, I think I need to bite the bullet and install them myself with the help with car savvy bro in law as he knows this sort of stuff way better then me. Do these come with good instructions on how to put them on? Anyone can give any pointers on how to do a proper install. I'm thinking of getting these within the next few days, $114 is good price.
  6. Oh right, perfect answer, thanks heaps. I thought it was some sort of thing that if someone drives off with your car you can shut down the engine.
  7. Hi, I was looking at Redbook for my Aurion, and under features it says Engine Immobiliser. What does this do and how can I actually use it on my Aurion? From what I understand it shuts down the engine? But how does it work? The only buttons on my remote is unlock, lock, alarm, and boot release.
  8. Well today, I went over to bunnings and grabbed my self some CRC silicone spray from bunnings. I ripped open the centre console as shown by djk and I inspected underneath with a flashlight. While trying to fix that creaking noise, I FIXED another problem. All those doors that open for the cup holder, 12V charger and ciggie lighter, would make a very annoying noise when opened and closed, like a squeeky door hinge. So I sprayed the hinges, screws and springs and low behold they went dead silent. Its very nice now. And the initial noise with the creaking, I was some what able to fix it by spraying the silicone, and I wedged in some thin foam which was lying around in our shed which that helped a little bit more. Here it is pulled apart for anyone interested:
  9. Okay, I was able to remove it thanks to that guide. When I take it off and press that area, the noise stops, when I put it back in it comes back. I'll just get some silicone spray then. Its a bit depressing because I never had rattles and squeaks in my round body shaped 97 camry.
  10. head unit removal guide, mate I just went through about 10 threads and I cannot find this. If I can fix it myself it will be awesome so I don't need to waste time and money to drive 20Km to my nearest dealer.
  11. You may not have the dash rattle, but you aren't immune to the creaking dash problem :P There isn't much solution to it mate. It's how the car is. You can try to lubricating any surfaces the plastic makes contact on the underside with some silicon spray our use an adhesive to completely lock any plastic bits together, but apart from that you are just going to have to live with it. I don't think Rowan ever fixed his when he had his car. Neither have I. There is more than one good use to a subwoofer and loud music. Yeah, when I said I have none I was referring to where people had to rip out EVERYTHING like the stereo and aircon bits and bobs to stop it. This is just that small area. But thanks heaps for the quick replies. I think I'll call up on Monday and see what they say. But does anyone else has this noise, and how exactly would I get silicon in there? I don't even know how to actually pull that part apart. <_<
  12. Ah okay, thought so. If yours "DID" it. What did you do to fix it?
  13. It's been happening for a while but I never thought nothing of it, I thought it was coming from when I lean my leg on the side when driving. But this time I noticed it a bit more as I was driving without music for the first time. I can make the sound by pushing down on it, or when I'm driving over bumps or actually pressing the brake, it creeks. And the Video shows for itself, its not the whole centre console, JUST that part under the gear. Can anyone confirm if this noise happens in there Aurion too? Specifically a 2007. If not, I'll have to take it down for them to fix it. I'm not sure what they will do to fix it though? Put some sort of foam padding or something? Whats actually making this noise? I tried to take it off but didn't want to force anything so I'll have to waste my time now and take it down if other members can confirm this is not normal. Will warranty cover it? As I won't spend a cent if its not covered because its Toyota's fault. Right now I'm being very picky because what ever I can find that can get fixed under warranty I want it done because I only have 2 months warranty left, after that I'm riding without a safety net. Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2gy9qlQ6DU (Damn it, I recorded upside down!)
  14. That is f****ing sexy. I love the wheels, the dark tints blow my mind and those Slimeline's give it that extra umph. edit: should ask, what % are the tints?

  16. LOL, thats actually good. You: Did you fix it? Mechanic: Not f**king fixed.
  17. That sucks mate, I checked mine, both are aligned. But that is because my car never had dash rattles and its a 07 mode. And that scratch is horrid. I would get them to change it if they did it.
  18. Well got my tyres balanced, rotated and aligned. Guys did an amazing job. I was in the workshop the whole time watching them do it so they couldn't do anything dodgy. The balance of each tyre was out by a lot. Everything was Zero'd out and tyres rotated and then aligned. Very happy now. Road noise has gone down and the car drives dead straight. :D That also with the VVT-i oil line change and brand new oil cap changed. The car is in perfect state. Love it.
  19. Yeah, I looked around other forums too. It's best I don't. Its not a scam as it is something that works if used for the right scenario. But for everyday family cars its more of a gimmick. Free Air from the servo will do for me.
  20. Sorry, should've done a quick search. I read the manual, and can't find where it says this. The only things about cold starting I could find were "Do not race a cold engine" and under the "How to save fuel section pg 215", it says Could you please give me a reference to where it says its BAD for new car engines? Still unsure whether I should leave the car for a while if it doesn't damage it.. Cheers. I had to pull out my manual and search this just for you... Go to Page 201. "Engine should be warmed up by driving, not in idle..." continue reading that section in the manual. I only heard its "bad" which by that I meant you are adding unnecessary wear and tear to an engine that does not require 15seconds+ warm up time. Imagine you leave your car to warm up each morning for lets say 3minutes, and over its life that add's up. Its best to leave it for few seconds, and drive very easy to warm it up, which is even recommend in the manual. Your adding unnecessary wear and tear because in idle the oils don't move around properly while warming up in idle, so gradually warming up by driving lubricates the engine properly. The MAX I would do in an Aurion is 1 minute in freezing Melbourne winters where it can be 5 degrees on some mornings. My dad is old school and thinks I need to warm up my car like his old 92 carby engine Hope this helps.
