  1. Back home from the dealer, they put on the slimlines, they look nice :D :D . Going to give the car a full detail tomorrow. Okay here is the interesting part. They ordered the intermediate shaft which will arrive in 2 weeks or so. This IS a problem and I guess anyone who has not done it yet and still under warranty get it done for FREE! Don't pay a cent, if I don't have to don't see any reason why anyone else should. I'm very pleased with the service. Here is my work order scanned: As you can see my rocker cover needs to be replaced too which is a bit disappointing for such a new car. They said that when the new part comes in they will call me up to make a booking.
  2. Writing this from the Toyota dealer with my iPhone. Getting a few thing checked out. Getting the slim lines put on and getting an oil leak checked out and to put the icing on the cake I asked about how the left side makes a clunking noise when you move the steering wheel. And I said I heard others had this problem and toyota have changed the whole rack in some cases. And he kind of stood still didn't say anything for a second then said it would be the shaft ;) and I was like yep, would like it if you guys have a look. Yay. Hopefully they will do something or get back to me with the good news.
  3. I was able able to produce this sort of thudding noise out of coincidence. I was stationary and I had the steering turn sharp to the left and as I moved it I noticed thudding. It was loud and could be heard inside the car since it's a thudding noise. And I can feel it in the steering.
  4. Yeah call many Toyotas. Some might do it free some otheres won't. There are plenty out there. Get calling. edit: But then again, even if you tell them over the phone, they'll still say we will have to have a look at the car.
  5. Woohoo, called up, didn't need to pre-order. The guy had one in stock and got it booked in for 1PM tomorrow. :D.
  6. How bad must this noise be for you to hear it inside of the car! I have not got anything like this, and I hope I never do and even if I do I hope it decides to say hello before march.
  7. It's a personalised plate (obviously) in the 'Prestige' series, which means any alpha-numeric combination up to 6 characters (7 in special limited offers), and comes as a different design to the standard aluminium pressed number plate. The front is plastic (perspex, lexan or something like that) and the frame is made from aluminium. This is my front number plate (easier to remove) and you can see how it is constructed: Oh okay, thats looking good. Dont have plates like that in Vic, they are all stamped.
  8. Not a cover? How is it so shiny? It sure looks like a cover from here? Whats with the black frame around it etc? What is it, a number plate made out of glass?
  9. I know :(. I had decked out my 97 camry with a decent system that would pump, made a custom parcel shelf and everything. I loved it. On the Aurion, I know it has a good system but it sounds too stocky. There is a huge difference from a better after market system from stock speakers. But at the moment I don't have that sort of many to blow. :( I'm running stock speakers. The sub is what drowns out the rattles. Let the rattles become someone else's' problem :P: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! Yeah thats pretty bad. Can I ask where you got your number plate cover from?
  10. Thanks for the reply, yeah it seems like people get more problems from it after the fix. I will just have to live with it, its not like I'm gonig to keep the car for ever. It will be someone else's problem later few years later and I will opted for another new car.
  11. Getting mine put in on Friday by the dealer, I'm also having them check out a little bit of oil. Might need re-sealing somewhere. Trying to get as much as I can out of my 1 month warranty left over. 1st of march three things will happen: My P's expire and I will be getting my full licence :D :D :D My vehicle rego expires and My Aurions warranty finishes.

  13. Okay guys, see this was my worry. I do read a lot of people who say after the fix they get more rattles. I think I will leave it alone so thanks heaps for the replies it makes it easier for me to make up my mind.
  14. Thanks so much for that, that actually looks a bit hard. I might have to get the dealer to do it.
  15. Yes yes I know how I boasted that there are no rattles in my car, but I guess I spoke too soon. Before anyone yells at me to search obviously I'm well aware there are hundreds of these threads, but mine is literally designated JUST to the passenger side. Just got back home and had the car parked outside, its really cold tonight in Melbourne and I noticed when the car is cold that is when there is most noise. It's just coming from around the passenger dash area, but my problem is I can't find or pin point where the noise is coming from. I emptied out the whole glove box, and drove with it open and closed, I pushed it in while driving and pushing it out with force while driving and the noise still comes. It feels like two soft plastics rubbing against each other. Or I think that its touching up against the front window? Its so hard to find where the noise is coming from because it only comes from the left side and the rest of the dash is quiet. It only happens when I go over rough bumps, if the Aurion did not have smooth suspension I think the noise would be unbearable. Unsure at all where this noise coming from the left could be coming from? edit: I'm asking because I got it booked in on Friday, so if its something worth fixing or I have no hope that even after a fix the noise will still be there. Because also to be honest, I'm not that fond of them ripping out the whole dash.
  16. Yeah I thought of doing this, but I don't like them. Makes it look like an old mans car, no offence. ;)
  17. Cool, thanks for that. Can't wait to pick it up on Friday :D
  18. Today I sat in a $106,000 2009 Audi wanting to compare to the Aurion and all I can say is that there is a huge difference in build quality. The Audi felt sterdy, safe, quiet and everything inside was tight. Nothing moved, nothing squeeked, nothing made a noise. The doors closed and opened with great precision. Made my Aurion(but many average priced cars) look like an old Russian car :P. But I still love my car. :) Also, my mate has a 2007 accord. I don't like it very much. The cheapest build quailty in a car that is meant to be something decent. I thought it was a 2004 at least but when he said 07 I was shocked. My Aurion is the same but looks light years ahead and better then the accord. He even thinks my car is better :P
  19. Alright then, thanks for taking the time to help out. I'll know in the future what to do if I have a question to ask. Guess we won't be seeing any digital speedo anytime soon but IMO if Toyota wanted I bet a simple software update would fix that.
  20. With all respect, did you seriously think that of the top of my head I'll think of typing in "The Stupid Thread" into the search engine? I haven't been on this forum long enough to know what goes where. I haven't ventured out of the Aurion section much either. Anyway, thanks for kind of answering. I was a bit disappointed to find that it doesn't show my Live Speed, what good will the average speed displayed do?
  21. I was looking at Youtube video's of people flogging there Fords and Holdens and most of them with a Trip Computer have a digital speedo. Which made me disappointed that Toyota neglected to put in one for our Aurions, instead they have a stupid Average Speed, seriously, why should I care what my average speed is? I'd rather see my speed in digital, its just to make life a bit easier when driving.
  22. Okay well, I called up today about the slimlines, he said that they don't have any in but can get them in 24 hours after putting in an order. He said that they require full payments first then put in an order because they don't want stock on there hands that won't get sold for a long time. I asked about the primer and he said that everything should come with the package when you receive it. But when he said that he did say it "Should", so really he wasn't 100% sure. Can someone confirm as asked by the post above for people who have done it themselves, was the primer in the package with the slimlines or did you purchase/get it separately?
  23. Thanks for that, yeah I think I'll give a call get it myself hooked up with some of these :)
  24. I can't actually make up my mind if I should get one of these or not. Do they provide much relief from rain when driving? Or what about when hitting the freeway and opening the window, does it cut back on noise or a lot of air coming into the car? You decision will make or break if I put these in or not. As I will give them a call tomorrow and book it in to get it done.
