  1. Thanks for the input. I'm after performance, but have to keep the price down to between $150 - $200 for a SRI kit with a heatshield. Hard to find something in this price range. :( Sorry have to be a cheap a$$. :( :( :)
  2. Hi all, Any thoughts on this type of pod filter. It's the Simota heatshield type. Going to use it on SRI setup. Also is this the washable type? (Finally saved up enough for a SRI... haha) Thanks all.
  3. Me thinks it's time to tag my car. :) Is there any medium in white left??
  4. Is this what the Twin Charger looks like yeah?? Got quoted $270 with a free breather here in Melbourne. What the heck is a breather?? Anyway I really want a SRI kit with a intake extension for the throttle response; only cause my rolla has never been above 4300rpm. And that only happened cause my dad miss shift dropping to 4th -- went to 2nd instead.
  5. I've been searching for about a month now and everytime I found a Simota distributor; they never stock it. Apparently there's not much demand for them, so they don't stock it. Don't know the price for the carbon fiber one but the HeatShield air filter is $37.28 and the extension kits $41.42, not including shipping. I did found a distributor in NZ (www.broomfish.co.nz), and apparently they are getting a lot of emails about these SRI kits. BUT they only have SRI kits for the 93-97 Corolla. I think they have the Heat Shield Air filter and Air Intake Extension Kits, but didn't ask... Found out that CyberCentury sells the SRI pipe for only $80. I was gonna have a look at it and see if the Simota Heat Shield Air filter and Air Intake Extension Kits will fit it. But haven't had the time. The searching still continues............
  6. I wanted the oval shape and the guy told me it doesn't fit so I ended up getting the round one... Don't know about changing the tip, may need to ask the muffler guy. Maybe change it to a shorter tip :D That Echo would have lost 5kws instead
  7. It depends what you want it for. If you want top end power, CAI is the way to go. But if you want throttle response and low end power, then get a SRI. I think the SRI starts to have the same preformance as the stock air filter setup above 4.5k -5k rpm. (Please someone correct me if I'm worng on this) :D I've been looking at getting a SRI setup, similar to the below picture, for some time now. Damm bills and my tax return wasn't even enough to cover petrol for 2 weeks. So still saving....... This is a Simota SRI with a Carbon Fiber setup: This is a Simota SRI with a heat shield air filter with a air intake extension kit:
  8. Yeap that smell will go away in about a week or so, depends on how much driving you do. That's normal. The twin loop doesn't fit striaght on our rollas so it has to be on a bit of an angle. Well that's what the muffler guy said when they fitted mine. But if you look directry down from the top of the bumper, it's not sticking out at all. I must admit that it's not the best looking muffler out there, but it's one of the quietest ones. :) You can compare yours with the pics in my garage.
  9. Yeap that used to happen to me too, and any passenger in my car. Use to hold on to the metal part of the car before getting out. Bought an anit-static from any auto store or K-Mart and it doesn't happen anymore. I've had it on the car for about 2 and a half years and all's good.
  10. Check on eBay. If you see something similar selling, then you know not to buy it.
  11. Well from what I got at work today was that us guys (oh yeah and girls) who park it in gear and start the car with the clutch in are what they called "Old school drivers" That's just a lot of crap I think :D :D
  12. Hi all, Just chatting with a few ppl here at work and just wondering if I'm the only one that parks their (manual) car in gear??? A lot of ppl at work just leaves it in neutral, I understand leaving it in neutral if you have a turbo timer. Found that out the hard way when I drove my brother-in-laws Skyline :) Turned off the ignition and bunny-hopped the thing Thanks.
  13. Well thanks all for your reply. I've booked my car in for this Thurs. So we'll see how much it'll cost. Only letting them service it cause the warrenty runs out on the 28th of this month. Damm, that means I have rego expense too
  14. Preston Toyota... Been servicing my car there cause that's where i bought it from. Dude werribee is kinda too far...
  15. Hey all, About to book my rolla for its 40kms service and just got quoted that it'll cost around $460. Are they kidding me or what? Anyone else paid this much for their 40kms service???
  16. Yeah, got mine 2 years ago from eBay. Autobarn never sells the TRD, but have every other models. Got mine for about $26 each. And yeah, there're never a tight fit.

  19. Mum->Filo + Dad->Filo = Me->Filo all the way. (except that I've lost the ability to speak Filo :( )
  20. Hey dude, I'm Filo too and in Melbourne. Full Filo but some how lost the ability to speak my native tongue. :( But I can understand the language. :) I can speak a bit of "taglish" :P
  21. Hi all, I gotta get me one of these... :) Hydro-Foam Ahhh crap, I just wrecked my perfect number of post (Post = 69) I couldn't help not posting anymore.
  22. Blank (just need this post to make the perfect number....)
  23. Love it, Love it, Love it. :D Looks like an Alpha from the back. Love the bonnet. Wish our rolla has that kind of bonnet.
  24. Just out of curiosity, how much does a CES CIA cost for a non-sportivo model pre-facelift??? Just scoping out what I can afford... :)
