I reckon TOCAU has the closest and most mature community of all the car clubs around.
That's so True..........
I for one totally agree with you there Ronny boy, being in my mid 40s (ol bas*ard) its good to be able to give out help and offer advise with out being ridiculed and to also recieve advise which has helped me out and no doubt many others, thanks fellow TOCAU members
Because the spam thread is so mature
LOL, We are one, but we are many..... :P

But Ronny Boy, good luck with the suggestion of "taking it to court." First of all, technically speaking the cops were, once again, correct. And secondly, it sounded like the punishment was a defect notice only, not a Traffic Infringement Notice for "Vehicle not comply with standards - wheels/tyres," which carries a small fine. Who would you suggest Stevo takes to court about a defect notice? And to which court?
Thats right, the cops were correct. After i relised the incorrect tyre size that was on the rolla i edited my post.
He would have received a fine aswell for the defect but theres no use fighting it as its pointless.

Go for either Yokohama, Bridgestone or Kumho Tyres

I have a question to add to this. I own a 2003 Camry V6. My powersteering fluid was very low, so I topped it up myself yesterday with the ATF Dexron 3 (as per the manual). However on checking my servicing history later that same day (yesterday) I discovered that last year only 'normal' powersteering fluid was used by the mechanic (not Toyota). My question is, can the ATF Dexron 3 be added as a topup to the remainder of the powersteering fluid (which was not ATF Dexron 3) or do these two not mix (in which case I assume I would need to do a flush and get rid of it all)? Thanks for your help.
I just replied to this on the Camry Forum....
Double post.......

Most power steering fluid/ATF you buy these days is Dexron III or higher. As long as you don't go any lower (ie. Dexron II) then all should be backwards compatible even between brands. So basically, as long as you buy Dexron III or higher, you will be fine to top it up yourself.
Yes i agree,That is absolutely spot on.

wish i'd found anither way to pay for uni, really miss my aurion right now.....
You can get the Govt to pay. in NSW its called HECS, not sure what its called in the other states. once you start earning over a certain amount the ATO will then take money from your pay each week.

Niceeeee,,,,, Really suits the car :)

How many people came into this thread thinking that the OP was going to ask about installing something to track the Aurion if its stolen? Come on fess up
That makes two of us.
Me aswell... :)
I think what the OP is asking is if its normal for the front tyres on an aurion to be in an angle if the steering wheel is completely steered to the left or right......
Im pretty sure thats normal. Feel free to correct me :)

Those are the Brand tyres my Grandad has on his 94 model Camry.
He doesnt really mind those tyres as he only take the car to work, shopping and families places (which is all near by)
Plus he usually stays 5-10 KM's under the speed limit.
I once had to drive his car in the rain at night and the performance and handling were fairly poor.
Realisticly it comes down to your personal choice - If your happy with it then keep it,
it also depends on the condition your going to drive in.
If you do drive in poor conditions then id say its a good idea to have better performing tyres.
I noticed that your about the same age as my grandad, so its a good idea to take into consideration on how far you drive and your driving style.

Corolla is faster.
VRX just has more features.

we recently had a brand new grande kluger in and parts dept supplied an ipod kit to fit, so they thought. It did not suit the genuine sat nav unit. i rang fujitsu ten technical and asked about the possibilities of such an install with no such luck , according to them. So the owner has a $60k vehicle and can't plug in an ipod WTF.
But unfortunately the only way to successfully connect an ipod was to purchase a component lexus supplies and it was $799 retail for the rx range. the same as shown in the links above , so until a cheaper alternative springs up the sat nav owners are stuck atm.
cheers Tim
60K Kluger with no possible I-pod connection. This would hurt.
Do you have the part number for the component that lexus supplies for $799?
Luckily, I have a Kenwood aftermarket DVD/GPS unit, i ended up getting the Kenwood Ipod connector and plugging it to the CD changer. Cost me about $60.

i hope it doesnt take more the 1-2wks.. really need my baby back :D
Hopefully they give you a Loan car aswell..
Apart from the rear damage, If there are any other scratches, see if the smash repairer can pull a few stings and fix those for free :)

This is a really handy Website for DIY car Audio installtion.....

5-10mm shouldnt make any difference, you wont be able to tell the difference from 1 CM.
Are all 4 tyres correctly pumped up to the same PSI? do you have the same size and brand tyres on all 4 corners?
-
First thing id do is take the car to the dealer and get it checked.
If the gears are dropping when the speedo drops to 0 km then its probably something to do with the sensors or when the transmission.
Usually when the Overdrive light flashes its got to do with the Transmission/Gearbox
Get it checked before it ends up costing you thousands :(

It depends on the pre-facelift year too. The pre-facelift models (Ascent only) after 2003 but before the facelift in 2004 have 15" steelies. My ZZE Ascent has 14" cause it's a late '02.
Ah ok, thats sounds right. I do kinda recall the 01/02 Ascents having 14"s. Atleast 15's are now available as stock..

OMG. wait. my ZZE has 185/60 (or 65?)/R14 Falken Ziex tyres at the moment. Factory spec say 175/70/R14. Does that mean I can be defected too?!
I thought all the ZZE's had 15 inch wheels?(as the smallest) my AE112 has 175/65/R14. Sure they arnt 15's? LOL

That sounds right, Most likely the Filter or Injectors would be on top of the list

HID's are the way to go, one you use HID's you will never go back to halogens.
With pricing,It depends where u get them from, can vary from $120-$250..
-
My personal opinion would be (where possible) to get it from anywhere in Australia rather then looking overseas. saves alot of hassle :)
-
you are just a number and the place is always so busy, that your car is rushed through. I have had so many bad experiences with them that i will never ever use them again, even if they offered me half price servicing. One example......mechanics doing burnouts in the cars when taking them into the service area.....i caught them out twice and management stood up for the mechanic saying the roads are wet
Reminds me of Sydney City Toyota in waterloo,
