  1. Hi Everyone,

    I wanted to get some of your thoughts on the below;

Its Time for another 6 month Service on my 2005 Camry.

When i called the Dealer to book a Service, they i asked if i wanted the following recommended service Done on top

Fuel Injector Service (rec every 30K or 12 months)

Airconditioning Anti-Bacterial Service (rec 12 months)

Power Steering Flush (Rec every 2 years)

Is it worth getting these optional servicing done that the Service advisors recommend or should i give it a miss?

Im not sure what Power steering flush is anyway, im guessing they are charging $130 to replace the fluid..... I duno,,

    Feel free to comment :)

  2. Hey guys,

Where is the best place to get a fascia kit for the ae112r to put in a single-din aftermarket stereo? What sort of price am I looking at?

    Cheers

I got one for my 2001 AE112 Corolla from Sydney City Toyota for $30 about 8 yrs ago.

You should be able to grab one from ur local Toyota dealer :)

  5. Hi this is my first post..

today I bought a 1998 RAV4 for $5500 (5 door manual) from a chap in Perth.. he said he paid $8800 from a dealer only last year.. he originally wanted $6500 but I talked him down.. but now I am home I feel like I was the one suckered in...

I have NO MANUAL, NO LOGBOOKS and 325000KM.. NO STERO.. NO ELECTRIC WINDOWS, NO WINDOW TINT..the body is OK.. the interior is OK.. when it drive it feels good but when I take my foot off the power the car makes a hissing sound.. anyone know what that is?

Also if anyone knows where I can get my hands on a manual that will be great.. I dont know how to switch car from normal drive to 4 wheel drive..

    all advice/comments very welcomed..

Also does this car come with AIRBAGS.. my friends car hiace ute does however it is stated on the steering wheel.. there is no writing on my steering wheel.. :help:

You need to provide more information on the Rav4 (e.g. is it a Cruiser?)and maybe upload some pics.

Here is the info i found for a 5 door cruiser in manual.

    4X4 5sp Manual Unleaded Multi-point injected 4cyl 2.0 1998cc

The Kms seems a bit high.

  6. Is there an easy way to change the colour of the lighting? I'm assuming the clock and speed limit thingo are stuck as green...

I cant remember what colours the bulbs are...... From memory i think the bulbs are white/yellow and the outline on the back of the aircon Panal is green.

Do you remember what color the Bulbs are when you had a look this afternoon.

If the bulbs are green then it should be pretty simple. if its yellow then you may have to change or remove the film on the air of the instument.(i think)

I wouldnt mind changing the aircon, clock and speed alert lighting to Blue/ light blue colour, but ill have to do a bit of playing around first to see its possible ..

  7. Isnt Defence Pak The Alarm and Microwave Sensors??????

From memory, the Paint protection the Dealers provide also covers Rust protection.. (not sure if it is still the same).

My rents got Paint Paint protection done on their 2001 model corolla 9 yrs ago, they forked out almost a grand and i seriously think it was a waste of money.

The car looked awsome for the first few years, since we didnt get the car checked every few years, the warranty was voided.

    Big Time waste.

TIP FOR ALL:: If you get the Paint, rust and Fabric protection for less then $300, then get it done, otherwise go to your nearest carwash and get it done.

Personally Carwash or DIY would be the best option...

  8. The recommended size for the Kappa 18s on the SX6/ZR6 is 235/45/18... 225/45 will also fit, 235/45 would definetly be the better option and better for corners.

Id recommend the Bridgestone Re001 Tyres, $300 at Bridgestone Tyres (Sydney) they have really good grip in the wet and dry along with better braking.

The other thing is that RE001 only come in 225/45 and 245/45 probably not 235/18.

You can get Bridgestone RE050A in 235/45/18 98/Y

The Problem with Bridgestone Tyre Centres are that most of them have different prices. You may want to call a few stores and get quotes. Then Price match :)

Dunlops and goodyear are made in china/taiwan but still sell for the expensive onshore prices (not sure if they are as good as the Australian rubber)

Here is how your Tyres Measure up

  9. Hi everyone,

I've had a bit of a search and haven't come up with anything yet. Does anybody know how to replace the backlights on a 2004 camry altise? 2 of the 4 behind the a/c controls are dead, and when I put in a new head unit in recently I couldn't see any way to replace them.

    Any ideas?

Have a look at the following URL

  10. Anyway, I wanna know this... when I pay my $197 at the post office, will I get anything sent back to me in the mail? I'd prefer not cause I live with my parents and they wouldn't be too happy that I've only got 2 demerit points left....

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

You wont get anything in the mail as long as u pay your fine on time, otherwise your screwed since the car is under your parants name...

If your on P's you shouldnt get a mail for only having 2 points, if you have your full licence and only have 2 point left you will receive a letter.

This morning, guess what, I got fined... again... $84.. It's not the 1st /2nd /3rd time I got that.. So far, I paid the fines knowing it's not my fault. But this really gets to my nerves and it really needs to come to a stop.. And apparently, the next door neighbour also experiences the same thing.

Do you guys think we can bring this to court? Coz Im thinking I can..

Call your local council first and tell them the situation then take it to court if needed.

  11. Found these and many more just wondering if any one else has done it, i was considering it but i dont know if there are electric mirrors tho which come standard in our cars.

if that doesnt work just tell me and i'll re post it

    Hi Mate,

Both the silly links dont work.

Go on Ebay save the pic to your desktop, then upload it here....

  12. You can buy genuine Toyota ones

    RH Side: 87910-06906

    LH Side: 87940-06906

HERE are some shots. I paid $219 for both (full assembly).

Ok, i got a quote from Toyota, this is what they quoted me

    RH Side: 87910-06906 $64.74

    LH Side: 87940-06906 $64.74

    Both available in stock.

Ok i dont think this should be that cheap, is there any other parts i require?

  13. tired switching them off and on nothing happens the hid bulb doesnt even flicker just stays off.

Your HID Bulb needs to be replaced. which really sucks as new bulbs can cost upto $100. then again you might find cheaper ones on ebay for a fraction of the price.

When shopping for HID replacement bulbs, make sure you get the correct 35 Watts Xenon bulbs. Most of them are just HID look alike Halegon bulbs.

Not sure about the LEDs though..
