  1. aint nobody in this thread riding on these :P go team stock! theres millions of us! muahahaha
  2. welcome to the club, it would help if we knew a few details such as which city are you located. that way, we might recommend some parts places or decent paintshops that might do the job 4 cheaper. but yea the price youve been quoted is pretty much a rip off by the sounds of it. how much would the whole car be worth if it ddint have the paint issue?
  3. gotta see what kinda shape they are in now. im sure they havent been soaked, although ill never know unless i crack the door open again. if its all dry, ill spray it with spraypaint... if not i gotta redo the job! :( no!
  4. i also witnessed this car at toymods... very nice! i wanted 2 ask you about the doors... whered u get em done and made em street legal? requires eng. certificate yea?
  5. build my own brackets with mdf. i traced around the original bracket on an mdf sheet, cut it with an electric saw and drilled holes where the original holes were. i had already bought the mdf rings from autobarn so i just used woodglue to put both parts together. simply bolted the new bracket on, and i still have my stock speakers just in case i have to put them back in! i drilled out the rivets to remove the stockies.. no other way of doing that part of the job. sorry this isnt clear, but this is what the speakers looked like after i put them in place.
  6. are you referring to ps2 or ps1 games in this statement? what ticks me off is that they dropped the full backwards capability of the ps3. i sold off my ps2 (coz i needed the money at the time) thinking eventually ima get me a ps3 and play my old games on it. my guess is they dpended more on the bluray and other features as the main selling points.. even if it was expensive (which i still think its kinda overpriced), id get it coz the backwards capability would be the icing on the cake. no need 2 have a ps2 and ps3 next to the tv.. thing i hate the most is having so many boxes surrounding the tv. ive already got - widescreen(not flat), dvd, paytv, vhs, dvd x360, amplifier... had a hd tuner and ps2 but sold that. too many damn boxes!
  7. theres articles i read online that 9 out of the top 10 ps2 games dont work on ps3. not sure which games but i think the article was based in the UK... and i htink it was dated late 2006? if they (sony) didnt have a problem having ps2 games play on the ps3, they wouldnt have dropped it as a feature on the 40gig model that are now in the shops. the poster @ "game" states it plays ps1.. not ps2 games.
  8. sorry 2 hijack this thread but i have another question regarding this subject - does anyone in sydney know who or where these "engineers" are to get a mod like this done and installed and legal for road use?" do they also give engineers certificates for engine mods too? after reading all this stuff in here, i havent seen anyone mention where to get engineers certificates from, or for how much $$$?
  9. sorry 2 hear bout this man. yea if you get GPS into your car, best to add that to your comprehensive insurance so that it is covered. which suburb of sydney was this by the way?? the thing about toyotas (well the models ive been in anyway) is that the inside panels are held in with plastic clips that could easily be pulled out.. wouldnt take long for them to get in so these blokes that came into your car must know what they are doing and what they were looking for. i heard and read somewhere (on tocau or was it the newspapers?) about people stealing cars such as 4wds and stripping the dash, leaving everything else. the cost to replace the parts would be worth more than buying the whole car so the stripped car goes to auction, then the blokes who stripped the car in the first place buys it at auction for a much cheaper price. that sucks for honest car owners like yourself who gotta pay the excess for insurance and then the incident leads to higher premiums for everyone else who happens 2 live in your area. (correct me if im wrong.. but that is partly how the price of insurance works doesnt it?)
  10. did anyone on this forum go to this party in melbourne? anyone here know this guy corey? apparently hes just been charged with child porn along with the crap hes already in sh!t with.
  11. i would assume it does since its got blu ray? and x360 doesnt have HD DVD as standard. but regardless of the dvd player i think both are able to go HD..? my 360 has the switch on the rca cables with 3 extra coloured cables i have no use for on my widescreen.. and im pretty sure i saw some aftermarket cables for the 360 as well.. not sure what they are for..
  12. blog... sounds like a plan. what is that right up2 5 users means upto 50mb? oh yea... here is the website ive been building if youre interested. its not finished yet... by the end of the month it should be officially up
  13. hey guys, just wondering about the ps3. for those who have bought it, was it worth it? even though (the current 40gig version) doesnt play your old ps2 games? i wanted to buy 1 expecting that since all the games stores are giving offers to those wanting to trade their old ps2s for a discount towards buying a ps3.. but whats the point of losing your ps2 if your old games wont play on the new ps3? i currently have a xbox360... would probelby eventually trade for the ps3 coz it can apparently surf the net on it.. and apparently theres no subscribing to anything like xboxlive? free network gaming yea? but the lack of backwards compatability is a real bummer. has any1 cracked the ps3 so it can work all ps2 games yet? or is that something thats not ever going to happen? i dunno.. anyhoo.. any comments on things ps3 related would be appreciated.
  14. thanks bigbum that is EXACTLY what i was looking 4! didnt get much help through optuszoo... they gave me directions for the ftp, but dindt tell me the whole bit like you just did... for the last hour i been wondering where all my files are, since i already sent them through a ftp client, but i dint know where 2 view it!?! THANKS BIGBUM! IF THIS FORUM HAD REP ID ADD YOU SOME.
  15. that has a file limit of 500kb per file. does optus give free webspace to its users? i ddint see any there
  16. gday, thanks 4 the replies.. i tried fateback and it seemed to do the job except i have some flash files close to 600kb and fateback has a limit of 200kb per file. is there a site that can do better than that?
  17. just wondering.. there has got 2 be something better than geocities to host a free site. geocities is too restrictive if youve got a flash website fixed up! is there a free website place out there you guys can recommend? doesnt matter about the domain name or whatever... i just need it to host a website im working on. thanks 4 your help in advance. jase
  18. list of K&N corolla intakes if autobarn dont have it in stock, they should be able to order it in. ebay finds : ebay corolla intake 1999 universal customisable CAI
  19. sometime thursday afternoon 10/1/08 dark blue corolla on gold rims driving west on woodstock ave. plumpton/rooty hill.. heading towards the rooty hill rd north traffic lights. diffferent, first time i saw that car around these parts. ALSO, black facelift levin with chrome rims driving round main street blacktown, then parked diagonally behind my car in the carpark behind cash converters blacktown around 12-1ish on thurs 10/1/08.
  20. theres your problem... to avoid what you've experienced, you should have bought a wiring harness that would suit the stock toyota harness, not the other way around. ive had similar issues when i tried wiring up a cd player into an old mitsubishi.. thought wiring was perfect, no way in the world a fault would occur, but wires begin to fry after ignition for some unknown reason. unless some car audio pro can explain it? dunno...
  21. UPDATE after carving out the black plastic with the dremel, i managed to get the stock cover to clip in PERFECTLY with all the extra plastic and circuitry inside. the only thing left to do is wire it up! WOOHOO!
  22. yea 4got to mention we spotted u 2.. well my wife did b4 i did.. but yea, is it really worth mentioning me spotting you anymore? lol! its a common occurance.. not out of the ordinary 2 find u or me at the rooty hill shops haha
  23. gday... guess those of you who have commented on this thread might be wondering if i went through with doing this... well to update yall on whats happend so far... while just after i made my last post on this, i went and cut my mirror cover and for the last few months ive been driving around looking like this: kinda sad.. make me not want to attend the monthly meetz :P i also cut the hell out of my chrome mirror covers.. didnt actually get a pic of that (i think?) anywayz to update you on whats happened now, i went to jaycar and got some advice on what i should do and this is what i ended up with: ive got a cheap ***** soldering iron so i cant control the temperature... my soldering was a bit too hot, leaving not such a clean and shiny weld where the wires meet the circuitboard. it works anyway... the lense isnt glued to the cover just yet... but ive soldered everything i needed to and drilled holes so that the LEDS can poke into the thingo.. kinda hard 2 explain without pics showing peice by peice.. but basically the the thing from back to front goes like this 1.CIRCUITBOARD 2.LEDS 3.BACK CHROME BIT (whats left of the chrome mirror covers. ive drilled holes for each of the LEDS) 4.INDICATOR LENSE 5.STOCK MIRROR COVER (hole cut out to house the indicator lense) there isnt much room between the stock mirror cover and the black plastic surrounding the mirror, so i am going to cut bits of it away so that itll all fit. further updates as long as i aint got a job in the world right now... jase
  24. you have a manual window winder? normally theyd have a metal clip holding it in place. there is a specific tool you can use to unclip it.. looks like fork with only 2 kinda wide prongs that push both sides of the clip.. or you can use an appropriate sized flat screwdriver and push it into the space between the door panel and the window winder. once that is off, you can pull the winder out.
