  1. thanks bigbum that is EXACTLY what i was looking 4!

didnt get much help through optuszoo... they gave me directions for the ftp, but dindt tell me the whole bit like you just did...

for the last hour i been wondering where all my files are, since i already sent them through a ftp client, but i dint know where 2 view it!?!

    THANKS BIGBUM!

IF THIS FORUM HAD REP ID ADD YOU SOME.

  2. gday, thanks 4 the replies..

i tried fateback and it seemed to do the job except i have some flash files close to 600kb and fateback has a limit of 200kb per file.

is there a site that can do better than that?

  3. just wondering.. there has got 2 be something better than geocities to host a free site.

geocities is too restrictive if youve got a flash website fixed up!

is there a free website place out there you guys can recommend?

doesnt matter about the domain name or whatever... i just need it to host a website im working on.

thanks 4 your help in advance.

  4. sometime thursday afternoon 10/1/08

dark blue corolla on gold rims driving west on woodstock ave. plumpton/rooty hill.. heading towards the rooty hill rd north traffic lights.

diffferent, first time i saw that car around these parts.

    ALSO,

black facelift levin with chrome rims driving round main street blacktown, then parked diagonally behind my car in the carpark behind cash converters blacktown around 12-1ish on thurs 10/1/08.

  5. basically when I installed the Alpine unit I cut off the stock wiring harness and attached the alpine harness.

theres your problem... to avoid what you've experienced, you should have bought a wiring harness that would suit the stock toyota harness, not the other way around. ive had similar issues when i tried wiring up a cd player into an old mitsubishi.. thought wiring was perfect, no way in the world a fault would occur, but wires begin to fry after ignition for some unknown reason.

unless some car audio pro can explain it? dunno...

  6. gday...

guess those of you who have commented on this thread might be wondering if i went through with doing this...

well to update yall on whats happend so far... while just after i made my last post on this, i went and cut my mirror cover and for the last few months ive been driving around looking like this:

    08012008_004_.jpg

kinda sad.. make me not want to attend the monthly meetz :P

i also cut the hell out of my chrome mirror covers.. didnt actually get a pic of that (i think?)

anywayz to update you on whats happened now, i went to jaycar and got some advice on what i should do and this is what i ended up with:

    08012008_003_.jpg

ive got a cheap ***** soldering iron so i cant control the temperature... my soldering was a bit too hot, leaving not such a clean and shiny weld where the wires meet the circuitboard. it works anyway...

    08012008_001_.jpg

the lense isnt glued to the cover just yet... but ive soldered everything i needed to and drilled holes so that the LEDS can poke into the thingo.. kinda hard 2 explain without pics showing peice by peice..

but basically the the thing from back to front goes like this

    1.CIRCUITBOARD

    2.LEDS

3.BACK CHROME BIT (whats left of the chrome mirror covers. ive drilled holes for each of the LEDS)

    4.INDICATOR LENSE

5.STOCK MIRROR COVER (hole cut out to house the indicator lense)

there isnt much room between the stock mirror cover and the black plastic surrounding the mirror, so i am going to cut bits of it away so that itll all fit.

further updates as long as i aint got a job in the world right now...

    jase

  7. you have a manual window winder?

normally theyd have a metal clip holding it in place.

there is a specific tool you can use to unclip it..

looks like fork with only 2 kinda wide prongs that push both sides of the clip.. or you can use an appropriate sized flat screwdriver and push it into the space between the door panel and the window winder.

once that is off, you can pull the winder out.

  8. from what ive read it looks like u are just trying 2 take off the door trim off your car yea? i dont understand what a "door card" is..

    but yea...

the plugs should go all around the edges of the panel. once you are sure you have all the screws removed, pull off the panel around the sides and bottom edges, then lift the panel up to take it off the door.

reinstalling should be straight forward too.. lower the panel into position, push in the plugs around the edges with a firm hand, then replace the screws.

(DISCLAIMER- this is a general guide, ive never tried this on a hilux, but ive done this on a few other cars.)

  9. rooty hill road north shops...

    last friday?

totally blacked out corolla with tint, bodykit, spoiler, blacked out altezzas, rims... not sure bout the details as i only saw the back of it.

btw not the first time 2 see this car at rooty hill

  10. i guess the smarter thing would be to leave it at one.

you get your bass, plus you keep your boot space.

ive always wondered what would happen if i built a custom ported sub box to go with the sealed box ive already got. as suprathai said b4, the subs will sound slightly different, so why not have both types?

the ported sub would obviously need to be bigger and if it is moulded to the left side behind the tail lights, and the port would need to be somehow perfectly measured to suit.

or you could make things simpler and leave it at one.

  11. da hell is HU83RT doin there? how do u know that car?

i see that car parked near mine all the time at rooty hill!

he is DRF122R on this forum

he also have a black Ascent Sport

    nice one...

yes ive had a good look at his black ascent as well.

not 2 familiar with the nick name on this forum though.

  12. Why is it "uncool" to listen to Farnsey and Barnsey and cold chisel etc whilst driving??

I quite like listening to it when I drive :D

guess it depends on the song... wouldnt write em off completely.

is tom jones uncool while driving? its fun driving through roundabouts while hearing "just help yourself to my lips, to my arms, just say the word and they are yours................"

  13. QUALIFIED SECONDARY TEACHER - NOW TUTORING! (kinda - no students yet coz schoolz out.. but yea GET ME FOR NEXT YEAR!?!)

Graduating from BA Teaching (secondary)- Visual Arts from University of Western Sydney, April 2008.

Also, if you are around BLACKTOWN, PARTICULARLY IN THE PLUMPTON, ROOTY HILL, GLENDENNING areas and have a year 7-9 student that can use a tutor to help them complete their homework/assignments, I can help!

    EXPERIENCE

So far, I have taught visual arts, visual design and photography to years 7 - 11 at two different high schools in the Blacktown/Holroyd Areas (which means I have done the whole police check and child protection thing - impossable for me to teach in school if I wasnt considered safe around children!).

    EXPERTISE

I dont consider myself just an ART teacher, im a TEACHER who happens to teach art, but I am able to help tutor students with ANY subject they have homework/assignments.

If the student is totally clueless, I do my best to break the work down to its simplest form and make the information relevant and meaningful to the student by connecting the work to the students prior knowledge.

By the end of the session, the student would have his/her homework COMPLETE.. or at least they would have a much better idea of how to do it themselves after i go.

Would be willing to stick around for longer than the agreed time at no extra cost if the student needs the assistance (that is if I dont have anyone else to tutor straight afterwards).

So if you are in the Blacktown area of Sydney and have a son/daughter/brother/sister/relative/family friend who is in year 7-9, who is a good student that does try their best, but happens to be struggling with homework or assignments, I can help!

All the student needs to bring is their textbooks, notebooks and equipment needed to do the work.

Ideally, we should have access to a computer with internet, microsoft word and printer if they have to write up assignments.

I have my own car *duh* so I am willing to meet the student @ their house or at blacktown/ mount druitt library (subject to my schedule...) but yea location is negotiable.

    HOW MUCH?

    $30 / hour for 1 on 1

$25 / hour if you book 2 tutor sessions per week.

Available Mondays - Fridays from 4.15-onwards

    Weekends (subject to availability)

  14. Dude, its a tarago. Get over yourself, slow the hell down and get a life before you kill yourself or someone worthwhile.

couldnt have said it better my self. its a bloody van. were did u get your licence from. did woolies have a special on them that i dont know about?

geez if only that were true i could use a cheap drifting tarago right about now.

BTW badboyz i had 2 read your sig bout 4 times before i understood what was going on! muahahahaha!

  15. my guess is that a wiring harness should solve your problem.

its just a plug that connects into your cars existing wiring that you either solder/crimp to your new head unit.

just match the colours from the wires coming out of your new head unit to the wiring harness and it should be ok.

i bought one at autobarn... but if you cant find one that specifically specifies that its for the celica, its still safe to use one thats for another recent toyota.

  16. i know my rola is idling a bit high but i dont know how high due to the bloomin fact that i dont have a revmeter but ive got one now just got to install it then i can figure out if the rolla is reving to high... but im pretty sure there is a nob somewhere near the rev cable and you adjust it accordingly.

those rev knobs are pretty useful, although ive only ever noticed them in my old landcruiser bundera (1985)... i never noticed it in any newer cars (ie- not in my parents 100 series landcruiser, or my 1zz). am i wrong on that? does the 1zz/2zz have these knobs?

  17. interesting thread...

lemme see what ive driven in the past...?

ford laser KC 1987? - first car.. auto.. broke down every 3-6 weeks for one reason or another. never gonna trust an old mazda (or second hand car dealer) again!

    Fixed for you man lol

Ayyyy you gotta tell the truth with those Lazer's hahaha.

ok a lil bit more truth about the salesman...

just after we discovered the car in the caryard, the dealer paused and stated to us that "things rarely ever go wrong with these cars"... "very dependable first car".

the body looked clean (no rust or dents) but it wasnt long when engine parts (ie. belts and things) began falling off the car WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT.

never drove a mazda... they look pretty nice now looking at the red 1 up in these forums... corzzas (excuse d spelling) isnt it?

actually.. come to think of it... may need to make a separate thread for this question, but its closely related to the question put to this thread...

(IN CASE ANYONE HASNT PUT UP THIS THREAD ALREADY)...

    WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CAR?

  18. interesting thread...

lemme see what ive driven in the past...?

ford laser KC 1987? - first car.. auto.. broke down every 3-6 weeks for one reason or another. never gonna trust an old ford (or second hand car dealer) again!

toyota bundera landcruiser 1985 - my second car, which was a hand me down from my brother. drove that for 3-4 years until i got my corolla.

toyota landcruiser 100 series 1998 - auto.. parents car. man that thing can handle rivers n mud muahahaha! 2 filipinos can easily sleep in the back with the seats up.

toyota hiace 1992? - manual, the family business van.. column shift!? fun!

toyota corolla 1998 - auto, sedan..

toyota celica sx 1998 - manual, the car my brother moved on to when he gave me the bundera.

"toyota" jeepney... manual, soft top, no aircondition, no seatbelts, no registration, no legroom for the front seats.. even less room for the poor buggers in the back seats!, no adjustable drivers seat, no left or right indicators, no doors, no window wipers and the best part - all aluminium panels! (only in the philippines)

as for other cars which ive just driven, friends cars n such -

subaru rx 200? model... bubble eyed one... nice 2 drive.. felt faster 2 drive than my conquest... but yea thats a 2.0litre engine yea?

mitsubishi station wagon.. 199? model... automatic.. ok car.. reliable i guess, nothing seemed wrong with it although i never felt safe in it.

hyundai excel 1995 - always looked down on excels, but very easy 2 drive... if i wasnt so loyal 2 my toyotas and just wanted a car 2 get me A to B id probebly go 1 of these.

mitsubishi delica 1990 - auto, 4wd, japanese surplus vehicle which was converted to left hand drive, which was funny because they didnt bother to move the handbreak. (philippines)

generic "multicab" *year unknown* - another philippines original... no seatbelts, no stereo.. this was a private vehicle which is more commonly used for public transport in the philippines... back features no windows, only 2 bench seats on either side which would squeeze in about 12-14 filipinos. often mistaken for a public vehicle since commuters would hop on the back while it was moving, thinking it was a public vehicle.
