  1. Mmmmmm....now with added CES....!!! Hello again LIFT! Thank you CES!
  2. Ooops...sounds like an over 45 speeding ticket and resulting 6 month suspension....naughty naughty... Sad to see a nice ZZE123 spending an extended period under covers...:( Hopefully 6 months will fly by.
  3. Whoa whoa whoa PetroDola... Relax buddy. Just a couple of people's opinions there. This a public forum, after all. Don't like the forum, then perhaps you do need to cruise back to the Skyline crowd you proudly boast of. Everyone has an opinion, and there's no need to go crazy and insulting if someone doesn't agree with you. TIme to go back to watching the footy...
  4. Interesting! I do like the way the seller feels the need to specify that it has "no turbo lag." I would have thought that eventuality was particularly unlikely, considering he has fitted a supercharger, not a turbo...;) Looks very very clean though. Unlike mine...
  5. So nothing to worry about and1? Just something to get used to I suppose. Took some night shots this evening, might post a couple up tomorrow. Which reminds me that its time for a new tripod...:( Next stop, a Whiteline strut brace and some go faster (and noisier) goodies. Am hoping to have them teamed with a readout of how many killer wasps the 5 year old baby is still putting out...Hopefully not too many will have flown away before dyno time... Stay tuned.
  6. And just a couple more. I need to work on lighting for my photos, but I was in a hurry today so no quality. Soon my precious, soon...
  7. This should help with those who are wondering about offset...
  8. Ah, yes, patience is a virtue... Let's hope I got some file sizes right...They were HUGE to start with. Apologies for the camera work. And the dirty car.
  9. Hey guys, I have finally been bothered to set up a post about my car. Lazy? Much! Will try and put some comments about the set-up too, for those who, like me, use the search function alot before deciding on a mod. Details: 2005 facelift Corolla Sportivo 88000km Condition: Not as good as I would like, but you get that. A few scratches and minor scrapes, but nothing I can't live with. For now... Now with added fizzle-fizzle...and photos Wheels/tyres: 17 x 7" Advanti ADR-10 wheels, 4x100 PCD (obviously), offset +40. 215/45R17 Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002 tyres Comments: Yes, they may look a little like the standard wheels but they are darker in colour and with the improvement in offset, look much tougher in my humble opinion. Yes, the tyre combo is not ideal. As many will race to point out, with this combo and a lower car (more on that shortly) I do suffer from a little bit of scrubbing on sharp or decent sized bumps. The previous tyres (Federal 595EVO) did about 35,000km, which is a lot less than the 57,000km I got from the original ER30s, but I'm happy with those numbers. I found the Federals pretty good. Not awesome in the wet, but a massive leap ahead from the standard tyres in terms of speeds that can be held in corners. Wear is good and noise is quite acceptable. Suspension: Eibach ProKit springs (currently 32mm lower at the front, 35mm at the rear), Koni Sport adjustable shocks, Whiteline HD rear sway bar, Whiteline front strut brace, front guards lipped. Top of tyre to guard measurements are FR 28, RR 40, and centre of hub to guard measurements are FR 340 and RR 350. Comments: Big improvement over standard, if you can bear a firmer ride. The rear sway bar made a big difference, dialing out lots of the understeer, and combined with the springs keeps the car a lot flatter with much less body roll. Looks wise too it's a big improvement on the standard set-up which causes the car to look like an oversized roller skate;) I haven't had any tyre wear issues so far, with the wear across the tread appearing pretty even. I swap my tyres around every 5000km. The trade off, as with the vast majority of "sports" suspension offerings, is a firmer ride. The springs aren't overly firm, but you certainly feel more of the road. For me, that's a good thing. For the wife, not so... The ride quality is excellent for a lowered spring, and combined with the Koni's is a very tidy set-up. Engine/intake/exhaust: CES Racing 2.5" stainless steel catback exhaust with s/s flanges, CES Racing CAI with K&N pod, CES Racing ceramic coated headers. Comments: Hello 14% increase in peak power and 16% increase in peak torque, both fractionally earlier than standard. More power and torque across the powerband from 3500rpm, with biggest gains to be had when LIFT kicks in! The exhaust sound is pleasingly deep and purposeful, and when she lits lift, whoosh! The noise is awesome! The wife is still getting used to the increased noise... Brakes: DBA Street Series slotted rotors front and rear, QFM A1RM street/track pads all round, Lucas GP600 DOT 4 fluid. Comments: Well, they look more impressive...;) The rotors seem to cope with heat build up better than the old ones, and the pads have definitely helped pull the car up faster than it used to. The A1's copped a flogging at Wakefield and loved it. Tyres gave up long before the brakes did... Audio: Clarion CZ509A headunit (BT, Ipod etc), MB Quart Reference splits, Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp and 12" sub, Dynamat for front doors and bootlid. Comments: More than adequate for my listening needs. Goes hard when I want it to, but produces quite a clear and crisp sound. It's not going to win any sound comps, but I don't need it to. It cops a fair assortment of music styles from my Ipod, so I needed something that was an alright all-rounder. Miscellaneous: Phillips BlueVision globes (headlights, parkers and fog lights, 4000k), BlueVision globes for the number plate lights, Isotta stubby aerial, TRD/Whiteline stickers/badges. Comments: Everyone knows a good sticker adds 20kw and 15km/h to your top speed... Well, I just like supporting a brand. No TRD bits on my car. Yet. The globes are a nice improvement, whitening the light, and they're ADR compliant too! Stubby antenna is purely for aesthetics, as I don't listen to radio much at all, and didn't want a fishing rod attached to the roof any more. Thanks for having a look guys.
  10. Nice! Me rikey! My wife giggled at one of these in standard form a few days ago, but this one is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better. Congrats.
  11. Stevo1210, Oh well, lesson learnt then. At least you have a better understanding of the VSI now. Heaven knows there must be an awfully large number of cars out there in NSW with wheel sets that don't comply with RTA VSI. *Pulls sad face, as some of them look so good...!* But Ronny Boy, good luck with the suggestion of "taking it to court." First of all, technically speaking the cops were, once again, correct. And secondly, it sounded like the punishment was a defect notice only, not a Traffic Infringement Notice for "Vehicle not comply with standards - wheels/tyres," which carries a small fine. Who would you suggest Stevo takes to court about a defect notice? And to which court? IMB055 - "there is nothing to stop you getting a Sportivo tyre placard for your ZZE, or better yet, a custom one to dodge this problem." Except for the fact that this would be illegal. Then again, if you plan on fitting illegal fitting wheels in the first place, then why not go the whole hog and dodgy up a fake placard too? Remember everyone: drive safely and not like a tool, be polite and honest, and you will be amazed how things can turn out. Stevo, no suggestion there that your mate wasn't driving responsibly. It was a general comment. B)
  12. Spotted a white facelift Stivo, lowered on white Lenso rims I think in Cobham Avenue, Melrose Park last night, as well as a red Stivo in the wee hours of the morning on the M2 westbound at Epping. He was stopped by the Cops, hopefully just for RBT...!
  13. that's me rarely been spotted i think this is the 2nd time what color is ur stivo Mine is a red facelift, titanium coloured 17s. I was in the right hand lane to turn into Charles Street.
  14. Spotted a white Sportivo eastbound on Victoria Road, Ryde, near the speed camera about 10 minutes ago. Rego ended in ***-22Y, and it had rims and wingtips. Anyone here?
  15. I regularly drive through Rooty Hill... Ive seen those plates around as well. Which car are you Damnfuzz? Mine is a red facelift Sportivo on black rims, but I was in the work car on Friday... just a nondescript blue Falcon.
  16. Pretty sure it was OOY33H on Rooty Hill Rd South about 9:30am on Friday morning? Lowered facelift Sportivo on dark rims? Or am I seeing things? Adrian
  17. Fluid-wise I am running AP Racing Dot 5.1. $22 per 500mL bottle, and you'll need two. I went with DBA street series slotted rotors, because I love the way they look. And yes, I have them all round, because I love uniformity! The fronts will do 70-75% of the work, but I wanted the car to look the same on each corner. Hawk pads all round too. Adrian
  18. Hey Rolla, My Sportivo brake upgrade consists of DBA slotted rotors front and rear, Hawk Performance pads and AP Racing fluid. My front rotors were $160 each, not including fitting (the rears were $133). Hope this helps, or at least gives you an idea of pricing. Was I ripped? Well, who really knows. I certainly don't care! Brakes are on, and I am a happy camper! Adrian
  19. It was a Corolla-fest today... First a tidy white ZRE heading north on Homebush Bay Drive near the M4 at 6:30am, then a dumped black ZZE heading north only moments later. And then another modded Sportivo getting onto Mamre Road at St Marys about 5:10pm. Corollas everywhere!
  20. So far I'm enjoying my EVOs. Grip is good in wet and dry, and the cornering ability is far superior to the standard tyres. They won't last 60,000km like the standard tyres did though...;)
  21. SSW Spyder 17 x 7 +42 offset 215/45 R17 tyres Lowered 30-35mm all round Now I just need a clean car and some good photos...:(
  22. 2 thumbs way up for the Whiteline rear sway bar. Running it on my Sportivo and it makes a world of difference. Adrian
  23. Kenshin, I am currently running 595EVOs on my Sportivo, but on 17 inch rims. As you mentioned, the Federal website seems to suggest they are on their way. Shoot me a PM if you want and I will get onto the guys I bought my tyres from and see if the 205/50 16s are available yet. Adrian
  24. Spotted a silver pre-facelift with bronze rims at the intersection of Blaxland Road and Devlin Street, Ryde, about 2pm today. Gave him the wave and got one in return. Man I love comraderie!
