  1. Welcome ,, and congrats on your purchase.. to check whether or not the recall items have been installed on your car: open the drivers side door and look at where the hinge conects to the car, then look for a silver label/sticker/item... if it is there that means your ecu etc has been altered... this is how it was for cars that were already bought checked... i would asssume that it would be the same for a new dealers car... well done again and welcome to the wonderfull world of sportivo's
  2. Craig had a run with a VN - VP commodore V8 that sounded like crap and gave him a Stivo lesson. Man was he impressed. He pulled up beside me and asked what boost he was running. Gave him the low down on the Stivo and he couldn't believe it. We pulled quite a few looks with a convoy of Stivo's doing an Italian job on the CBD!! ← When the guy in the commodore pulled up later right beside me he said that he was going to go and trade his car in to buy one of our little stivos.. he was very impressed to say the least
  3. rear speakers only hold like a 4" speaker,, also for the people that have installed rear speakers did you have to drill out the plastic pod, because removing that speker there is no way that you can drop a 6 - 6 1/2 speaker in there are no mounting holes or screws
  4. You must still give credit, where credit is due, personally alot of people wouldnt have carried out such drastic mods to there exterior etc, so i congratulate him on his efforts so far, now its time to move to the engine bay and start doing the Biggens... still pretty confused about the gauge cluster,, WaiWong do you remember where you got this specially made pod.. ( i looked at the link,, now i understand each gauge is actually individual with its own mounting cup,, lookes different from outside the car...) cheers Greg
  5. they are defi gauges ← but is that just a mounting soloution using one of defi's products or is it an actuall kit,, i'm planning on putting cobalt autometer gauges in my car and would like to install them like waiwong38's any ideas
  6. Craigson,, You are a fool,, you take them out of the box as soon as the give them to you and put them in your mouth,, :P (so i've heard)
  7. Thanks for your guys input on this modification, at the moment it looks like i may steer clear of this one untill more time and research are done. thanks again greg
  8. just a quick question,,,with the three gauges in the car what type of mounting did you use there,, looks great, infact love the whole look of the car thanks for your help in advance greg also ,, if it is possible can you take a picture from inside the car looking onto the gauges,, thanks for all your trouble
  9. i would agree here with brendan ( SILLVA) if you really want the results, do it yourself with a hose and bucket,, and many other things there is also a bonus with this way you can stand back once your finished and say thats what i did and look at how sexy my car looks.. listen to SILLVA,, its his job, thats what he does ... so i'd tend to lean with what he says.. greg
  10. Celica,Corolla Runx/Fielder,Allex,Will VS Engine parts for 2ZZ-GE High compression piston for 2ZZ-GE The product was changed to aluminum forging while the standard is aluminum casting. Molybdenum work is done to the skirt for the high compression piston while the standard piston is galvanized with steel on the surface. These changes allow securing excellent sliding characteristics and good lubricity by the matching with the aluminum made cylinder and improving the initial break-in. Light weight of about 70g per piston has been achieved including the piston pin to improve the trackability in high rotating area. The high compression ratio (11.5) of 2ZZ-GE engine has been improved to 13.0 by changing the form of the piston head. The torque and response throughout the range will be improved by the high compression ratio of 13.0. 2ZZ-GE Piston, vis pin 13101-TF200 4 40,000 High compression specification(compression ratio about 13.0) 40,000 YEN ---- Roughly AUD$499 Forged part, light weight Piston ring set 13011-TF200 4 5,000 For 13101-TF200 described above 5,000 YEN ---- Roughly AUD$62 YOUR SUGGESTIONS AND IDEAS.. AND ALSO,, WHAT YOU THINK THE BENEFIT WOULD BE TO HAVE THESE INSTALLED ON OUR CARS>>>? WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED CHEERS GREG :D :D :D :D :D
  11. craig,, so you like hey,,, it is just that little bit more expensive,, but you do get that very tasty and enjoyable box of chocolates with every service.. that in my mind makes me always go back...
  12. dyno day dilema.. where was the award for most automatic peace of crap car.. damnit. hehe,, cars back now,, thank *** and with a nice little new gear selector package.. ahhh pity i only get to use it for one day and then leave it again for work reasons
  13. guys and girls. sorry to hear about everyones gear problems,, i had them with the ratteling gear selector cables etc.. i just got back from Longreach and picked up my car and what they had done was incredible ,,, the new gear selector kit,, made a huge difference to my car,, the gears actually stick,, they move into place easily and the shift feels alot shorter aswell.. if you haven't asked them to do anything yet,, go in and ask your service person to order you in the kit,, whether or not you can get it under warranty or not and tell them to chux it in for you.. give it a go... just talk to them reasonably .. they know less than we do.. cheers
  14. eleni,, why go designer, you'd be able to pick up 2x12" pioneers boxed at the moment for around 450-500 power that with a mono block amp, and you'll have the streets alight,, :P similar to my two in the back there is a set in a custom box at a place i go for all my gear going for 460 i believe,, its a redish tinge to the carpet covering the box cheers greg if you need any help with the audio install just buzz us
  15. hey eleni, its greg here,, black stivo,, it was good to meet you by luck really so now the brisbane sportivo contingency grows stronger make sure to have a look in the gallery to get some of those ideas into motion,, cya later greg :P

  18. :) Quaife Helical Limited Slip Differential - Toyota 1.8L VVTi, VVTLi, Lotus Elise $1199.00 * Monkeywrench Racing has become the exclusive dealer for this particular Quaife's differential. This unit fits all 2000- MT Celicas and MR2 Spyders and 2003- MT Matrixes and Corollas, as well as the new Lotus Elise (US spec). Available Immediately!* The Quaife torque biasing differential enables your car to accelerate quicker and corner faster. How? By getting the power to the ground! The Quaife Differential powers both drive wheels under nearly all conditions, instead of just one. With an ordinary open differential, standard on most cars, a lot of precious power is wasted during wheelspin under acceleration. This happens because the open differential shifts power to the wheel with less grip (along the path of least resistance). The Quaife, however, does just the opposite. It senses which wheel has the better grip, and biases the power to that wheel. It does this smoothly and constantly, and without ever completely removing power from the other wheel. In drag-race style, straight-line acceleration runs, this results in a close to ideal 50/50 power split to both drive wheels, resulting in essentially twice the grip of an ordinary differential (they don't call open diffs "peglegs" for nothing). In cornering, while accelerating out of a turn, the Quaife biases power to the outside wheel, reducing inside-wheel spin. This allows the driver to begin accelerating earlier, exiting the corner at a higher speed. The Quaife also controls loss of traction when the front wheels are on slippery surfaces such as ice and snow or mud, providing the appropriate biased traction needed to overcome these adverse conditions. The Quaife Differential provides constant and infinitely variable drive. Power is transferred automatically without the use of normal friction pads or plates seen in other limited-slip designs. The Quaife's unique design offers maximum traction, improves handling and steering, and puts the power where it is needed most. A definite advantage whether on the track or on the street. The Quaife is extremely strong and durable and since the Quaife is gear operated, it has no plates or clutches that can wear out and need costly replacement. The Quaife is great for street driving or racing. Racers don't have to put up with locking mechanisms or spools that tear the steering wheel out of their hands when cornering. Because it behaves like an open differential during ordinary driving, street drivers will have trouble telling it's there until pushing the car's limits. The Quaife has been proven in everything from SCCA Rally to Formula 1. It provides autocrossers with such an advantage, it has become "required" equipment for a winning effort. Every Quaife ATB Differential comes with something else other's don't have: a Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty applies even when raced !
