  1. the steel wheels are still an option isn't it?sorry i forgot about the alloys as standard. and i thought the audio system was the same as the one in the pre-facelifts.
  2. since you said you will travel on some dirt, a on road/off road tyre would be best.
  3. the facelift models as of September '09 have gained some new features excluding the AT-X and Presara. the Sportivo SX6,Prodigy and Sportivo ZR6 all get new and better aurio system, the Sportivos getting clear LED tail lights, the ZR6 and the Prodigy as well i think also get the rain sensing wipers. i can't remember the other features, so you might have to look on other websites such as http://toyota.com.au
  4. it just died suddenly?it could be the ECU, coz if it was the fuel pump, the engine would start losing power coz not enough fuel is distributed to it and the car would shake awkwardly.ECU must have died suddenly and once it dies and you turn the ignition key, there would be no spark whatsoever. better bring your car to the mechanics.
  5. want power, a big bodied car?go for the commodore. want durability long term, fuel effieciency?go for the camry. the camry is a reasonable choice as its about $10k cheaper than the commodore, but the only problem is the lack of performance compared to the commodore. i personally don't think the camry looks as good as the commodore(no offence intened against camry owners), although toyota has improved it through the facelift models. after all it's your choice because it all depends on your wants and needs. hope my suggestions help.
  6. thanks for all of your answers.i should consider them.
  7. i just can't pick an auto over a manual, always liked the manuals.
  8. when i start it in the morning, the weather would be something like 3-6C-some days im lucky to see around 10C on the LCD screen. the temp guage needle would sit all the way down-dunno how cold that is under the bonnet.
  9. i would say a manual gearbox is a better performer than an auto as the gear ratios enable the engine to accelerate faster, though it requires the driver to use their left hand a lot, whereas the auto is a 'lazy' option.in most cases manual cars are cheaper to buy and run(uses less fuel than autos).i also heard that cars with manual gearboxes tend to last longer than cars fitted with an auto gearbox.semi-auto(sequential)transmissions are now starting to dominate over standards autos in most cars, and it's a good option for those who like to drive in auto mode and also have an option of switching to shift mode when their mood takes them.
  10. just to add to DJKOR's response, all of the springs used throughtout the Aurion range are exactly 10.5 cm long-the only difference is firmness.
  11. thanks buddy, i should follow what you said.
  12. my aurion is kept outside on the driveway because i have to keep things inside my garage. i often start the engine in near-freezing conditions in the morning and was wondering whether thats good or bad. also, should i leave it to warm up before i drive it or not?
  13. you didn't really say whether you like the sporty type or the luxury versions, but assuming you had your thoughts on the presara and the AT-X suggests that you like the luxury range. you said your don't drive much, so i wouldn't say go for the most expensive in the range. the prodigy is a good choice, the only difference is the smart key/ignition, satnav, slighty smaller alloys and its also about $10k cheaper...also the touring is currently out,i also suggest you have a look at that as well as its the same price as the base model AT-X, but with a few more goodies such as leather steering wheel and gear lever, fog lights, spoiler, 6 cd stacker audio system ect...hope that helps.
  14. i'd like to see the finished product posted.
  15. i agree with the first few replies(don't like it...)
  16. Did you read the post above yours? oh, my bad...
  17. great choice made mate, having known people with these older v6 camrys, i think that you should be able to get a decent amount of years from yours. the 4 cylinder version were shockers, as many people experienced engine oil leaks when they got old(wasn't good). well done on your choice.
  18. i prefer to go for mobil oils, but DJKOR's suggestion isn't bad either.
  19. Mate we have a 2010 ZR6,we looked at the SX6,but we settled on the zr for the; Leather trim, Auto tilt and heated external rear veiw mirrors, Rear powered internal sunshade, powered passenger seat,(auto slide, lumber and recline) auto rain sensing wipers, electro-chromatic internal rear veiw mirror, drivers seat memory with link to external mirrors, and the Smart start/entry feature, that way we dont have to worry about adjusting seats and mirrors each time the wife or I drive it as each key fob is programmed for each other and seats and mirrors adjust accordingly, hope that helps you out with abit of info, but do yourself a favour and instead of listening to myself and others get yourself down to a Toyota dealer and have a looksie first hand Damn! Toyota seriously pumped some big new features into the facelift models. that's why i got 1 mate.
  20. nope, no suspicious noice in my aurion. the transmissions running perfectly and smoothly thoughout the gears. i'm not sure what's the problem with the transmission in your car.
  21. Toyota are also contradicting themselves, if you read the owners manual, it says you don't have to use this stuff. true, it seems wierd to see toyota promote these products when the owners manual state they're not necessary...
  22. mate, you're right. i would say that i prefer one thats takes up minimal space, so the 8 inch version would be ideal. when i said low power, i meant i want a sub that would add a good quality bass(not too much) to the music i listen to without make the car vibrate(im not hardcore!). my budget would be anything below $200.in saying that, do you recommend a particular brand at all?
  23. i would say that you shouldnt go any higher than 40, so no higher than 0w-40 to 10w-40. the oil that you brought in to the servicer is too thick and the service cost includes the oil change as well, according to my knowledge. therefore next time you take it for a service, either let the servicer use their's( they always use to right one), choose one from their shelf, or bring in one thats 10w-40 to 5w-30. most brands of oil are fine, but i prefer Mobil. note: lower than that isn't recommended-it can make your cars engine unhappy either long term or short term.
  24. hey all, can someone advise me which brand and/or type of sub i can put in my aurion? looking for a low power version which is good quality. thanks.
  25. gday all, my aurion currently contains the stock michelins 17 inches on all 5 wheels. It still has a few years in it, but i was just wondering which brand and type i should go for when i replace it because im not so happy with the road noice that it is currently producing.i am looking for long-lasting tyres, so i don't really care about performance. may i also have your share of experience and its average price if possible. thanks.
