  1. my aurion is far from showroom condition at the moment. can't be bothered drving it to the car wash so i may as well do it at home when the law changes.
  2. its good that the vic government is giving us victorians the opportunity to do this after a decade. thank god the water levels have risen to about 41%.
  3. its a poor joke i guess.i got it from the local newspaper.
  4. well done on fixing the gearbox problem. the problem regarding the audio system sounds interesting to me. oh well, at least you've got that solved.
  5. why don't you try and turn on the reading or door light to find your buttons? this may sound a bit stupid, but its a suggestion.
  6. dennis r.,you've switched over to the michelins which some people said is a good tyre choice to make regarding road noice and durablity. i should consider what you said and buy a set of them when my current set gets worn out. overall, good choice you've made there.
  7. congrats on buying your new car
  8. you're an ethusiast. good ride you'ver got there.well done on your work on it.
  9. wondering if this is any good or has previously been posted on...anyways... a car crash scene occurs in a small town.thank god no one was hurt. witnessors gather around the scene. a photographer comes to the crash scene only to find that a big group was gathering around the car.he thinks of a way to get through the big crowd. he cries out,"that's my relative in the car!"the crowd lets him through, and before he got close to the car he saw that the driver was a donkey.
  10. in addition to SuperDave's answer, it could be either the ignition leads and/or the spark plugs being worn, which in many cases produges rough idling. how long ago were the spark plugs relaced and has the ignition leads been replaced?
  11. wow...i'm thinkin that it could be due to some interferance with the overhead power cables or something which can alter the electronics in the car. can you please explain the surronding conditions in that particular area?your situation sound sreally odd...
  12. the fact that the steering pulls to the left occurs in pretty much every aurion i've seen, and it can be solved accordin to what Daryl(DJKOR) said. but geez, when you said that you needed a lot of tyres changed and wheel alignments in the past 2.5 yrs got me thinking that your situation isn't good.hope it doesn't occur on my aurion in the future.
  13. um, interesting, a toyota with a HSV exhaust system...
  14. there isn't much of a difference betwwen the 2 types considering that regular unleaded is 3c per litre more than e10 but delivers better economy.the only major difference between the 2 types is that e10 will be more environmentally friendly.
  15. i still prefer the whole range of the pre-facelifts-all of them looked good. the only facelifted models i like is the sportivos(i reckon the AT-X,Prodigy and Presara all look stuffed).
  16. all this is getting me a bit worried about my aurion...
  17. uh,aurion grande?we don't have such thing as a aurion grande. your 'aurion grande' must be imported, as here in Aus we have either the camry grande or the aurion presara.
  18. e10 was created recently, so it shouldn't be listed in the owners manual of a 05 camry. you can use it if you want because the petrol stations selling it guarantees that it would be fine for cars made from the 90's onwards to use it. but i would have to agree with the previous responses saying that its not worth using it when premium unleaded with benefits for the engine costs an extra $5-10 per tank to use.
  19. i would say go for a camry, an altise or sportivo depending on your choice. the reason i said that is that the avalons are rarer, therefore spare parts will be scarce if you ever need tham in the future(camrys appear more often).also, in my opinion, a camry sportivo would look much cooler. however, the avalon looks more luxurious. a '03 v6 sportivo with 160k km on the odo would be worth around $9-11k private price or $13-14k dealer price.
  20. the over revving problem sounds odd to me, but all i can think of is the it has something to do with the transmission. also, you said that the engine revs at 1500rpm when its first turned on in the morning. my aurion does do that when i turn it on when its cold, and the revving reduces about 1/2 min afterwards. a toyota mechanic said it was designed that way to help the oil and fuel to flow through all components of the engine. this is for the new models with 3.5 ltr v6's such as aurions, klugers, v6 rav4s ect... your hilux has a 4 ltr v6 i think, and i don't know if its similar or not. after all, i suggest you should bring it in to a toyota dealer to let have a look at it.
  21. mate, i heard that to achieve that the same amount of power as with using regular unleaded or more, bigger fuel injectors are required to bring more fuel into the cylinders. the reason is because the engine requires more fuel to do so. also, another benefit is that its about half the price of regular unleaded.
  22. stats show that my aurion should consume about the same amount of fuel as your RAV4. i get around 550km per tank(city driving), but in saying that, my aurion has a 70ltr tank whereas your RAV4 has a 60ltr tank. therefore i would say the fuel consumption of your car is acceptable.
  23. my aurion runs mostly on 98 RON unleaded, but from different companies, for example i use mobil 98 for a 1 tank and bp ultimate for another. to my knowledge, different companies mix their fuel in slighty different ways, and therefore it may contain different elements and substances to each other. so my questions is, is it OK to use different fuel from different companies or stick with 1 and why. im asking this question because im worried that what im currently doing will lead to problems for the engine in the future. thanks all.
  24. hey all, e10 has been around for some time now.recently, caltex has introduced e85(e-pump?-can't remember)which is why holden has planned to produce commodores being able to run it. therefore, i was wondering what all of you of there think of this new invention, and should it be used in toyotas produced in the future.
  25. try selling it on the parts and accesories selling page on the site(buy and sell). its for free i think.
