  1. Hi, no big GPS in the KX-S. The Grande gets that one and some wood as well!!!
  2. I note you say 2012 Kluger - is this the new head unit? If so I rest my case.
  3. So, you are one of the lucky ones. If you don't mind me asking, which Toyota Dealership and how many hoops and doble backflips did you have to perform for them before they listened?
  4. Yes from all reports seems like a lottery if it works and a massive general resistance from Toyota to ack their issues, listen to the consumer and fix it. See my post in steering shaft issue: told them I heard a noise like xyz they then fix it under warranty because the issue is rampant and known. Tell them all about head unit issues including where 6 times in 6 months its lets out an enormous bang, turns off radio/ipod and whole family recovers from what sounds like a gunshot going off in the cabin. Toyota response is we cant really do anything until we hear it. Maybe I should just record a gunshot in a confined space and tell Toyota I recorded my noise by constantly recording everytime I drove the car and see what they say. Seems fairly simple to me: a loud bang is a loud bang and the head unit turning itself off seems pretty simple as well plus bt issues. Things happening which shouldn't happen, therefore do something about it Toyota!
  5. Hi, seen the other tyre threads but wanted one specifically for this model - 245/55/19 103s and 19x7.5. Unfortunately after 24k the servicing dealership says to replace. Nitrogen since birth and rotated so finding it hard to understand what more I could have done. Will get some other opinions over the weekend. Bridgestones on the CX-7 lasted 22k and its just surburban driving. Maybe its all the local corners and start stop as opposed to driving to Perth and back 4 times?? Maybe its soft Bridgestones and the age old ride v comfort v budget? Thoughts?? In terms of replacement sizes and prices. Does anyone know what sizes are ok without impacting insurance companies. Also what prices and brands other than Bridgestone are getting the wraps at the moment. Thoughts greatly appreciated as a bit annoyed that only got 24k out of a set.

Sorry posted twice as link was hung for 30 seconds and must have clicked it again. Maybe op can delete one - sorry.
  7. Hi, went for the 18 months (travelled 24,000kms) service yesterday and after reporting a noise in the steering column was told that I need to have the 'intermediate steering shaft' replaced. It will be under warranty so no problems other than a different journey to work. Has anyone else had similar. Current MY11 KX-S AWD. ps - pitty they aren't as happy to replace the head unit as Bluetoth continues to be bad with a new branded phone (Samsung Galaxy S) and as previously posted has let out an enormous bang on at least 5 occasions (similar to a gun shot) and then turned itself off. They would like to hear the noise. Well sorry you can't have my car for a month to drive.
  8. Hi, over the past couple of weeks I have been noticing a knocking noise coming from the steering column as if something is loose. The noise is a constant knock with no set pattern and no different depending on road surface. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what was the outcome.
  9. At last someone has experienced the same. Like you no one else has been in the car, reboots, Toyota symbol etc etc. Have not had it back for the service department to look at, so I will keep you posted. Edit 10/3: I now have other witnesses to this sound - my 14 and 11 year old kids. Happened on the way home from school. Watch out Toyota next sevice.
  10. I have now had this happen about 4 times now and in different scenarios - listening to radio and Ipod. All of a sudden the stereo emits a very loud bang, shuts itself down and then automatically restarts. The bang is loud enough to give you a fright as it comes totally unexpectedly. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
  11. Hi, I wonder if this is the unit they will install after repeated complaints about the quality of Bluetooth in the original head unit?
  12. I think it's been asked before but couldn't find the thread. Looking at driving 1000kms next week and normally use E10. Is there benefit in using 95 octane for a 1000km round trip? Thoughts please. Thanks.
  13. Hi, had the Bluetooth/Ipod/Stereo software update installed on my November 2010 build Kluger KX-S today. What is everyone's feedback re the fix? Does it resolve all the known issues with Toyota Bluetooth on the current model Kluger which appear in numerous threads or is this just part of the process that you must go through before Fujitsu replace the entire head unit? Appreciate some feedback please.
  14. I have just had Nitrogen put in all five tyres and Jax Tyres recommended 36psi in all tyres.
  15. Mine had 53 which I thought was up there but as previous posts, not much you can do about it.
  16. Hi, am I missing something or does the new model KX-S not even have a warning buzzer when the headlights are accidentaly left on? Please tell me my buzzer is faulty.
  17. Picked up our Cosmos Blue KX-S AWD today and so far so good. Its v nice and a different colour when compared to all the Graphite ones out there. Big when compared to the Luxury CX-7 it replaces. All good with the dealer and for other threads out there it had a full tank of fuel - Phil Gilbert Sydney. Now for some long drives to get used to it. The Mazda had predrilled holes for the number plate screws both front and back. Why doesn't Toyota do the same?
  18. To what percentage are they doing the front two wind ups? Also any mention of cost for the clear UV film?
  19. I suppose its all about what you want them to do - stop you hitting the front garage wall where you park every day or in car parks where you can't see exactly where concrete pillars and poles are which are on the side as opposed to being in front. For this I think they should be on the edge. Interestingly Prado comes with 4.
  20. Looks good. Can you please confirm what the colour is please. Is it the new Cosmos Blue?
