  1. Just splice and solder mate, do a good job and it wont come back to bite you in the ***** later lol
  2. So this was an expensive experience never will i do it again lol....... At around $1300 i had the Genuine spoiler purchased, painted and fitted. I had alot of mucking around to get the right parts as the Toyota parts dealer had no clue to what he was doing !! Here is the before and after photo's for what the car looks like. 3. There is one in Prosser Toyota Gosnells here in Perth for sale in their show room just shy of $46,000 Speak to me or ask for J.Maletic there he will look after you! Up close with it . . . i think i jizzed at the leather interior lol looks reaaaaaly nice i must say, otherwise its just the same as the other aurions :)
  4. i had a Parkside Towbar (Reece Hitch Style) fitted here in Perth @ $859 and i haven't had any issues with towing the car drives smoothly :D
  5. I don't tend to flash other drivers lol doesn't phase me the slightest! And i do lots of nighttime driving on highways and dark back streets all times of the night any day of the week so its all most a must have in my books :D Thats fair enough then. In Melbourne, too many unmarked cop cars parked on the nature strip with speed cameras attached to the front. Flashing drivers literally every day :D I do it because others have saved me a few times haha Well then got a smartphone ? try this app on for size - http://www.trapster.com/index.php
  6. You paid $50 for two strips? =O The exact same ones you have are only about $5 each on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/...#ht_3055wt_1045 Yep i bought 4 of them... out of those 4 only 1 worked others didn't from new out the packet ! So i bought locally + keeps the profit to your home country :) - i get warranty on the parts as well as a quality product. Only downside is when i installed them it was end of summer and it was still in 40's + for temp so the double sided tape that comes with it was melting and they kept falling ! ... quick trip to bunnings soon fixed it with some super duper double sided tape... They are still holding 2 months later :D
  7. So i recently installed a rear spoiler to my 09 Aurion ATX... With the ATX they DON'T come with a spoiler standard so they have placed a center brake light on the rear shelve, no issue... EXCEPT SHELF IS MOLDED! You just cant pop it open to disconnect. So here is some quick simple steps to remove the rear seat out and get to the correct plug to give it a yank ! ( Light reflects off the rear spoiler at night and gives a red glow in rear view mirror + looks weird :P ) BETTER YET DOWNLOAD ALL THE PHOTO'S HERE will be faster in the long run: Download NOW BISH ! 9. Well i got my HID's and within 4 hours had them in snug and working ! I chose a LOW BEAM - 35 Watt Slim Line Ballast - 6000 Kelvin Globe - H9 fitting which is the same as the H11 funnily enough! HIGH BEAM. - 55 Watt Slim Line Ballast - 6000 Kelvin Globe - HB3 Fitting - They are rare and took 5 weeks to get in from my supplier. The Installation . . . (Sorry for image size i cant make them any smaller unless i sit on Photoshop all day lol - Best option is the Press and hold CTRL and scroll the mouse wheel which will Zoom IN / OUT) BETTER YET DOWNLOAD ALL THE PHOTO's HERE will be faster in the long run: http://www.mediafire.com/?fgh2o92h4wzfxcr (You Need WinRAR to open or equivalent Download WinRAR Here) Best set of pliers to get the plastic plugs out Aurion's Jaws drops :D NAKED O_O The HID kit itself (Ballast Left to Globe on the Right) The Wiring Harness on the left side of the car White SMD LED Globe for Parker Lights Standard Halogen Parker Globe HID Low beam During the day Standard Halogen Low Beam During the day HID Low beam and Halogen High Beam (Shows the colour Difference) Birds eye view - Right Side Birds eye view - Right Side Close Up Birds eye view - Left Side Birds eye view - Left Side Close Up
  10. As said above better boot lighting can be done with LED Strips... here is a preview of mine :D At a cost of $50.00 a packet (2 strips per packet) and you can join them together (up to 6 strips) they are pretty good!
  11. Couldn't be stuffed reading every comment to see if this was posted but for the iPhone users there is a iPhone app you can use to calculate your fuel consumption! $1.19 AUS DriveMate Fuel this app has loads of good features that allows you to see straight away what you have consumed! TIP: Use your Odometer distance as the method for recording the distance traveled. easy way to record that data is retain your fuel receipt and write it at the top of receipt to enter later. Here is my screen shots of the 09 aurion i have and its consumption from 24th December 2010 (day i obtained my car) (fuel here is mixture of different refueling from 91 or 95 RON, at least the last 6 entry's were 95 RON )
  12. Late post but i just bought a genuine spoiler to put on my 09 Aurion ATX and that is a part of the kit you need to buy to install the spoiler (creates the seal so water does not enter boot lid cavity). At time of posting the genuine part cost's $20.53 for the pair (left and right side)
  13. ZOMG DUDE I COULD KISS YOU O_O I cant explain it enough in the way of thanks ! This 2 part post allowed me to install with ease my HID kit today to me roughly 3 hours to just plod along and do a decent install! I will upload a rar folder of the pic's over the next week or so as i have only done half - awaiting the 55W HB3 High Beam kit ! I Installed a 35W HB11 6000K (or also a H9 Kit fits for some reason) Best Regards, Steele!
  14. First and last time ill buy anything genuine!! I wanted at least the spoiler gen cause then i know i have at least half decent quality... but i really did pay the price ! The main issue is buying all the pieces to fit the kit (to a car that hasn't originally got a spoiler) as you would know that you have to buy EVERY nut washer and bolt separately... Not to mention they also may forget the center brake light as it isn't on their main page. (and alone that is 1/4 of the price) All up spoiler will cost you around $800.00 For the Kit (that's all the nuts n bolts)(center brake light is $230 by itself) around the $300-$400 to get it painted unless you have contacts and anywhere from $50-$350 to get it fitted (Toyota will charge $350) Bottom line is unless u so desperately want a spoiler and are willing to give your right nut for it, DON'T BOTHER lol. I'll post picks up of the finished project once its on my 09 ATX
  15. Well one of the things you learn when truck driving is your mirrors are the priority feature on the truck.... You legally in WA need to check your mirrors at a time of... - before braking (both sides) - Turning into a turning pocket (both Sides) - Reversing (not allowed to turn your body and look out the rear window because its an Instant Fail on Driving Test) - And when driving around every 10 seconds / 100 meters you should check both mirrors and see where traffic is. Basically, as you drive your forever looking at your mirrors (all 4 of them) that driver obviously has a weeties licence !
  16. Sweet as ! Now i just gota get the right wire for constant 12v and iam set - either way at night looks FN awesome :D Thanks for the reply. Steele!
  17. Ok half a day of hunting, installing and getting cuts on my hands from sharp objects i finaly installed some LED Footwell lighting with it hooked up to the dome light...Unfortunantly they only had one of the packets left so i only did the front section of the car for now. Looks fantastic even during the day :D Thankyou to the posters of information in other threads & the idea of the switch location DJKOR, it worked out really well B) Ill upload photo's next week when my internet isn't capped =_=
  18. Can someone post a pic for a decent constant power source for the footwell lighting.... I have a on/off/on switch and the source for dome light. Now i need power to have it allways on - Someone please show me a pic to allow me to complete the installation Thanks Steele. (I'll probably get a reply from DJKOR :P ) EDIT: Ok so before i went any further with the installation i decided to touch the wires onto the power source to check and make sure the lights worked.... sadly they didn't.... 1 out of the four worked ! Now iam on the hunt for some more SMD LED Strips (30cm) White, SOMEONE HELP ME all i can find is the cheap and nasty ones on ebay and i dont want them again :( Iam happy to pay a little more to get decent lights. Thanks Again, Steele.
  19. By the way, leave ur car unlocked ill be by later to take the wallet sitting there
  20. CONROD - Yea i checked with the Narva, Hella and a couple other catalogs at Coventrys and Jaycar - Their Catalogs dont have a switch that fits the small odd sized panel that toyota so kindly provides....lol DJKOR - Thanks for the photo, i might have to bite the bullet and go with what you have done! I was just hoping i could aim for a neat switch like i had in my 2000 camry... <-- I had the DVD head unit setup to earth with handbrake or bypass handbrake and go straight to the earth allowing video whilst driving ( kept it in with the legality's ;) )
  21. that sucks balls.... my idea was foot-well lighting on a on/off/on to be able to have the lights on or set to dome (secondary on), might have to use the soldering iron to melt it back to suit a 44mm switch *sigh*
  22. Ok so i have tried... Super Cheap Auto, Auto Pro, Jay Car, Coventry's and TOYOTA.... NOT ONE HAS A SWITCH TO FIT!!!! (iam shocked not even toyota supply a switch to fit their on FN vehicle ) I need a Rocker switch to fit the switch panel on the right hand side of the dash just behind the steering wheel that provides an ON/OFF/ON or ON/ON Could someone please tell me what and where i can get one or if not to much trouble purchase & send me the switch and i will reimburse them the full cost plus 10% interest!! Thanks in advance, Steele.
  23. I have a dozen or so pics i will upload tonight sometime B)
