  1. so it is on saturday 26 june 2004. those who already know where we are going to hang out for the night please go straight there. i will go to the collins street extension at 6 pm to meet others and take them to the place.
  2. if you have already would you go
  3. easy! 2 bolts, 1 tap screw and several push tabs
  4. in victoria it is unroadworthy to have bits extending out from the factory body.
  5. a closer up picture can be seen here from the osaka moto show 2003 http://www3.kcn.ne.jp/~kazuiida/automesse/1.html
  6. n1 has it here in melbourne and i think i saw the red one. i heard insurance companies typically do not like people changing steering wheels. in victoria if the steering wheel has no padded centre you can be defected.
  7. woops made a mistake. can we change the meet to saturday? i made an oversight and that night thing is on saturday. it would be great if some members can make it. track day is on sunday and there is timed racing. i want to go see what a stock sportivo gets. forget about rattles and get timed!
  8. i have seen dobison springs ads in car magazines. i do not know anyone who has used dobison springs in street cars. perhaps they are good for track? if you have a budget of $500+ i think you should look at japanese springs like tein. tein recommended retail price is $440. unlike most manufacturers which make a single set of springs for all corolla models tein makes springs specific for hatch, sedan and wagon. and lovells has been around since 1931. good luck!
  9. qkslvr sorry to hear that. if you enquire with toyota check if the part's material is FRP or ABS and please let us know for reference. i just checked ozeparts and they have the genuine front bar for $205. if you are fussy and want the part colour coded at japan tmc factory please let me know and i will put you in touch with someone who can organise it.
  10. anyone want to go to a track day at heathcote? $40 for competitors and $15 for spectators. after track day we will go to the city for the night meet.
  11. i used to get rattles. the adjustable skewers at the top of the coilovers were moving around so i removed them. do not need the skewers in the coilovers all the time. only need them for adjusting the damper. i guess the noises are due to the suspension being so low even though coilovers are made for going very low.
  12. i do not think so because the mechanic adjusted the coilovers (on the floor) to match stock before fitting them on the car. once fitted the mechanic then adjusted the height to go down. the only way i would know if i adjusted the height to maxium up to measure if the car is at stock level or higher.
  13. screaminrolla the suspension is very firm. i have the standard springs but there are 9 different springs you can choose. later i will change the standard springs to the softess set for more comfort and maybe get the front camber plate put in. it is overkill for a road car but i purchased a package for life. handling increased a lot. so much i did not want the front strut bar anymore. makes clunk sounds at times but this seems to happen in most coilovers.
  14. gus you might like to check out this topic for some answers http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=379
  15. sport1vo, trd141, pecker, arcxis, pecker thanks for coming. i know everyone had something important to do but still made time to come to the meet. the thing which we were going to go to was postponed to next week. i look forward to seeing you then.
  16. i want to be closer to the ground too. apart from looks handling is increased. the coilovers have 4" (10 cm) adjustable height. i have 1 cm free to go down to the ground. therefore the rear is 9 cm down from stock. please remember i have ascent. sportivo is 1" lower than ascent.
  17. sport1vo are we going to mazda beforehand? ;) yes next week again. i hope the weather will be fine.
  18. i too have an ascent and it has adjustable coilovers 4" travel and 36 damper settings. the rear has just 1 cm left before it is maximum down. in an outdoor car park i reversed parked not knowing there was a cement parking block (mini curb). i am glad i do not have a fancy muffler because i would have hit it on the block. the stock muffler was only 1 cm above the block. in places where you think you would touch something just go slowly.
