  1. Okay - picture time!!! I've just picked out a few of the best, if you want to see all 74 of them (:o!) then here is the link to the album: http://s305.photobucket.com/albums/nn239/T...ow%20N%20Shine/ I'll try and show a few different ones to what's already been posted up.
  2. Fantastic pictures - I'm just re-living it all, what a fantastic weekend!! Am just waiting on Photobucket to upload my Cruise pics and then I'll post some up too :D
  3. That's why I placed myself at the back of the 'fast pack' - I had plenty of space between those right up front and then the slower cars behind me, so I had a really good time pushing the Cam through the curves. I suppose it was more about people's driving ability on the day and road conditions, as was noted it was a little hard to tell in spots where there was oil on the road, puddles etc but I think overall it went well - it's always going to be hard to keep a sizeable pack contained. I'd definitely be interested in a more regular Melbourne meet-up if a Camry is welcome amongst all the Rolla's hehehe Although being in Bendigo I dunno that I would make it every month. Dyno day sounds interesting, I've always wanted to see how one works.
  4. +1 on more local get togethers,i think i've caught the cruise bug... :D +1 again for me - I would love to come down from Bendigo a bit more often to get together with any members of the local crew, as long as you guys don't mind one Camry amongst the rest hehehe
  5. Cruise today was fantastic, and the rain held off all day apart from a bit of spitting. I did get my wish for a car "wash" later in the day though as it absolutely poured down on my return trip to Bendigo!! Was a gorgeous cruise route when I took a look at the scenery and wasn't busy cornering, very impressed with the stock Cam's handling although seeing you all with your mods has given me a fair few ideas hehehe Will wait until the official picture thread is up and about before I post up what I've got, should be a few good ones and I took a few out of the windscreen today. Can't be bothered getting the camera out right now :P And I can't wait to see the pics we got on the freeway! Heheh Akuma, I hope we are the only ones in Vic with a Gen 6 manual - although the others don't know what they're missing out on!! Soooo much fun today :D
  6. The show and shine today was great - so many fantastic cars and lots of great people :D Can't wait until the cruise tomorrow!! And I was absolutely rapt to see another Gen 6 Sportivo manual :D
  7. That'd be me! So neither of us can claim to be the only Aurora Gold Toyota heheheh I'm not expecting to win any prizes either (that's not what the meet is about anyway I don't think, it's just a bonus :)) but I've got no idea what kind of miracle Pete might work with my car! I think I can probably lay claim to a couple of "only's" - one being the only Gen 6 manual Sportivo, and the other might be the only Gold Camry *shrugs* But I'm really looking forward to tomorrow and the cruise so I can find out!! If you're coming on the cruise Tofuboi it'd definitely make some good shots of the Gold cousins ;)
  8. Hahah - I would like to see you hop in the plane in all that gear whitestivo!! Am totally excited about the meet this weekend, I will be heading down to Melbourne tonight but won't be able to make the dinner. Stoked that I get my car cleaned by Pete as well heheheheh See you all at Brighton tomorrow!! :D
  9. Damn, what a shame about the Aurion - no more lending it to your parents!!! From the display piccy is it gold in colour?? If so and if it makes it I'd love to do a quick photo shoot together; Gold Cam & a Gold Aurion :D I've got no passengers either if anyone still needs. Can't wait until Saturday!
  10. Your car is just beautiful - and even better, it has a twin! There are some great ideas in the car and it looks absolutely fantastic. Any Camry that can own the WRX's, Evo's etc is wicked :D You've given me a lot of ideas; in particular now I'm wondering how tinted tails & headlights would go on Gold! How were they done? The lip kit looks fantastic also, as does the strut with Camry embossed into it. Best of luck with all the future plans ;)
  11. It all sounds absolutely wonderful, I really can't wait for it all!! I better get cleaning the car heheheheh Might do the engine this Saturday, I can't have the rest of the car clean and the engine bay dirty lol Are there any "lucky door prizes" for those of us that probably aren't contenders for the show and shine? Hahahahahah... I wouldn't stress too much about the weather; as DJKOR has said the weather forecasts have been pretty inaccurate lately, and we've been having some beautiful days here with the sun shining a little, so stay positive and hopefully we will get a couple of gorgeous winter days. At any rate you all better bring a few jumpers/pairs of jeans! Oh and I forgot to add - for the Rav4 bloke again, being the "odd one out" is nothing to be ashamed of, and I'm certain no one's going to make you feel that way. If it helps any I'm reasonably confident I will be the only Gen 6 Camry Sportivo manual owner at the meet, although I would love to find another.
  12. Great news about the venue, and that will be a fantastic place to do it all. Plus, what a boost for Brighton Toyota anyway as in show casing basically their business. I have never been to Brighton before either, so it'll be nice to see somewhere new! To anyone that still needed a lift in on the morning please let me know (PM would be good); I'm driving to Melb at some stage Friday night and staying with relatives for the weekend (gotta love free accommodation :D) so all I'm doing is hopping up Saturday morning and cleaning the car again then making my way to Brighton for the meet. So I'll be out in Airport West and coming in if anyone needs; it's like one suburb away from Essendon.
  13. No worries, have been to D1ck Smith and all they have is the .05 watt in a twin pack for $60, or the 1 watt for $100. Going to go check out their website now. I'm thinking I'll just bite the bullet and get one off Ebay, I can't see myself sitting there listening to it all and not participating hahah Ahh my bad BKS, spose that's the only thing about the top down views. It'll all be a new area of Melbourne for me so am looking forward to seeing it all.
  14. God it's getting close now, just a handful of weekends away!! I was just wondering if any of the Brisbane or Sydney crew, or anyone in Melbourne might have a CB handheld they'd be willing to let me borrow for the cruise on Sunday? It's just myself in my Cam so I'll have plenty of room for any passengers that want to tag along. I've been hunting & hunting for one and they're all over $100, and I'm just thinking it's something I probably won't have a use for again..Otherwise there is a Uniden (think its the U047 something) that I can get on Ebay for around the $70 mark and it's a 1 watt, so that should do the job. I like the view of the TMCA car park, I bet everyone will be having a good gawk from the roads on the way past!
  15. Please don't forget me in the VIC roll call!!! Oh and pimp-tivo has a Camry Sportivo, not a Corolla. It all sounds fabulous, and good on Chadstone Toyota for contributing to the meet - you're doing a great job with all that Andy, I can't wait!
  16. Hey BKS that all looks fantastic, you've done an absolutely ace job in putting it all together. I'm assuming from the doco you mean 350km round trip? Not going to be a problem for the 'yota's! $5 donation is not a problem, seems more than fair for all the events & goodies that are being put together. Is this required before the meet or is payment on the day acceptable? If not, how do I go about donating?
  17. Well seeings this thread is still going I better contribute!! I'm Tash, 22, obv. female lol Currently single and living in Bendigo, VIC. Am just about finished a double degree in Business/IT with a major in Marketing and I'm working in IT. Looking forward to meeting new faces at the TOCAU meet in Melb on the June long weekend :D
  18. Nice looking Sportivo! How can you be in Bendigo and I've never seen you?? As Shannon (Whip Cracker) pointed out above I'm here too!! So if you've seen a Gold Camry cruising around, that's mine ;) I will make sure I keep an eye out for those wheels! You should come down to the Mega Meet in Melbourne - it'll be a blast!! Pity it's an auto heheheh
  19. Hahaha well, snow gear might be a bit OTT..Although! It was -1 in Bendigo overnight and we haven't even gotten into May yet, so it looks like June is going to be pretty cold! Thank god for car heaters heheheh Guess we better let 'em all get warmed up before embarking on the cruise. Second cruise route looks pretty good, can't say I've ever been in either direction so will be nice to experience something new.
  20. The smarter way would be to have a look online and see if there are catalogues for these places, esp at D*ck Smith, JB HiFi and the like and see if they are on sale. -m_luke Haha yeah well that's the first part - although have you ever been to Bendigo? The options are limited pretty much to Autobarn, D*ck Smith, SuperCheap Auto & Harvey Norman.. or anywhere online. I did look at Jaycar but they looked a bit cheap/dodgy. I am hoping JB HiFi will be here one of these days, we desperately need one! Ebay is probably my next port of call lol Judging by how cold it's been lately it'll no doubt be pretty cool for the meet, so make sure you inter-staters bring some warm clothes!!!
  21. Ahh fantastic, that will look pretty good then :) Thanks heaps for the suggestions re. the CB's, I better get my skates on and start looking in places like Autobarn & D*ck Smith to see what's around.
  22. the route for the cruise is yet to be confirmed. we'd obviously like everyone to meet at the same place so we can all get the Maps, and information at the same time. But if there's absolutley no way you can make it to the meet point, i'd suggest you keep an eye out for us on the route.... No worries, there was no harm in asking :) Fine by me to go in and meet up with everyone, just means I'll have to pay for the toll up the Tulla! (I'm sure it won't break the bank hahahah) I'm still looking for a suitable UHF handheld to bring along with me, has anyone got any suggestions for a particular brand/model? Well here's hoping the rain stays away for the show & shine portion, and then it can rain all it likes!!! Can I ask what TMCA stands for? There's no street view it seems on Bertie St to get a closer look.
  23. Count me in for dinner on Saturday night :) Same here re. the final itinery, I'll be driving down from Bendigo on the Friday night to stay at my aunt's in Airport West, so I need to find a car wash for the morning - I'm assuming there's gotta be one in Essendon/Keilor. Then I need to work out how to get to St Kilda, but that's what my new GPS is for hahahah So I'm glad the meet's not until 11, I'll need all the time to clean bloody bugs off the front end from a night time drive down!! Oh and I'm not sure if I had mentioned it already or not but please count me in for the cruise on Sunday as well ;) I haven't checked the front page again, but is the venue for the Show & Shine etc confirmed? Edit: Hey I just checked the cruise route for Sunday again, is there any chance I could meet up with the group near Airport West?? Just noticed the cruise is going straight past there - it saves me going all the way into the city and then back out again as I'll be staying there with relatives. There'd have to be like a servo or something I could find you all at so there'd be no real stopping.
  24. The Turtle sponsorship is absolutely fantastic, big kudos to you for organising it Andy! I'm really going to have to hone my detailing skills before I get down there. As for the $60 a head, I don't reckon I would eat/drink that much personally, mainly due to the standard drinks then driving thing. I did like the idea though that if we could just book a table for a set number, rather than paying to book out the entire venue. Most restaurants always serve the bigger groups first anyway even if there are other customers. And then as M_M said people can spend however much they want too, and if we get all the parking spots then that's a bonus too!
  25. Just to add to the whole e-tag thing, I know (and its probably the same elsewhere) that if you pass through it you are able to pay for the toll afterwards; I think they send you a letter anyway after a couple of weeks. So if you don't get one and then we do end up going through a tollway no need to panic about it. That'll be my plan anyway as I don't think I'm going to need one, but it'll be okay if I do. As for the member with the Rav4, throw that attitude away!! I will be a bit of a fish out of water myself as my car is pretty much stock as, and I know there'll be some heavily modded cars there, but as has been said it is about meeting everyone, having a great time and sharing our passion for Toyota. The cars are just the common ground :) Although I must admit I am really looking forward to checking out the cars!
