Hey Danny that is one nice looking 'Rolla! The re-trimmed interior looks great :) Any future plans?
  2. G'day and welcome :) Hrrm if I had to suggest one possible candidate, if you're into Camry's then a Gen 4 Touring (or Gen 3 Touring) would probably be around for that price and certainly not lacking in power or mod potential! Just gotta take a look around the pages of these forums to see some pretty wicked rides encompassing nearly all Toyota models!
  3. Good point - I haven't actually driven an auto Gen 6 Camry (would love to as a comparison). One thing that is interesting to note though is that there is a certain bit of "lag" present in the manual also, when you give it to it there is a really noticeable rev range where the car will kick in and go. I found this an interesting concept to adjust to when I first got the car, and now after 6 months of owning it I have gotten the hang of it and used to the feel of the car. Obviously this would be present in other new cars too, but it took me a little to adjust coming from a Gen 3 manual which would just launch itself if you stuck the pedal down, whereas you need a different approach in the Gen 6 to really get it moving if that makes sense. Ahahahahah! Thanks for a good laugh :D Great write-up on measuring fuel consumption too JMacca :)

Hahah that's fantastic - what a great looking little car :) Have to agree that the black wheel covers give it a lift but can't wait to see what the new shoes will look like! Lovely colour too. Will have to check out that Yaris vid @ home, our laptop for external net at work isn't that great at playing vids :(
  6. Well today's efforts included a very brief car wash (will worry about cleaning the interior again next weekend) and I got around to putting on numberplate frames and the TRD gear knob :D (big thanks to David!) The plate frames are Kingpin branded, so they came with spacers, so I've got the boot lid, the two spacers, and anti-theft screws holding them together, then you put in these black plugs into the 4 corners of the numberplate and then you fix the frame to the numberplate using four provided self tapping screws to go into the black plugs. So basically if a thief wants them, they need to unscrew all four screws to detach the frame from the numberplate and then they need to undo the anti-theft screws. So hopefully too much work! And the new gear knob is soooooooo comfy! Love the way it looks too
  7. Hey Blair and welcome :) That would have been a pretty sweet project! I will have to stop by that post and make sure I check out that Celica heheh
  8. Heheheh gotta love driving manuals I will try to make a note to test it out next time I go back up to NE Vic cos it's about 220km each way then the driving I do around there.
  9. hey thanks a lot and nice car have u have any mods done to it????? Thanks :) So far really only the mods that are in my signature, but there is more to come! It's my daily driver so anything to make the ride more comfortable and enjoyable really hehe Plus I'm pretty anal retentive when it comes to keeping it clean, off to the car wash shortly hahah
  10. Hahaha if you think it's cold up there then you should trip down to Vic in Winter :P The guys in Sydney meet-up pretty regularly and there was a cruise just gone but think another is in the waterworks, so just keep your eyes on the forum :)
  11. Looks nice :) Must get a few looks with all those aerials heheh
  12. Just "some" goodies!? Holy heck - that is a lot of new toys!! I'm very jealous heheheh and loving the rear DVD screens. Especially so because it's Eclipse gear and I love their stuff :D The painted engine cover looks really good too :) I'm struggling to think of more things that could possibly go into/onto this car but I'm sure you've got more in store!
  13. +1 to this :D What's next??
  14. Hi Macauley :) Car sounds great - you'll definitely have to share some pictures. Best of luck with all of your future plans and getting your licence when the time comes!
  15. Hey Nathan and welcome :) Depending on where you are TOCAU members hold regular meet-ups in each state and there is also the annual Mega Meet held over the June Queen's Birthday long weekend, next year it will be held in Sydney. Be sure to check out the Upcoming Meets forum to see if there's anything in your area ;)
  16. Hey and welcome - glad you have seen the light!! Toyota's are certainly a much better choice heheheh If you can you should come along to one of our monthly meet-up's in Melbourne :) No details for September yet but keep your eye on the Upcoming Meets forum ;)
  17. Hello and welcome :) I don't mind the Mazda's - they make some pretty good cars. Mum has an '04 323 Protege, last of the production line before they became the 3. Best of luck with the purchase of an Aurion, you certainly won't regret it!
  18. Cheers :) I also made sure I had a good sticky at yours too - another lovely Gen 5. Always did like that shape! Hahah damn, I guess in that sense then you were meant to end up in the Gen 5 ;) You will have to come to one of our monthly Melb meet-ups so we can get some Camry snaps!
  19. I'm yet to really test out the fuel consumption in mine but I'm pretty happy with it, it'd certainly get me over the 600km mark. I seem to average 10-11 litres around town, mainly as it's short trips, and then judging on the amount of fuel it uses and using the dash reading as a rough gauge I'm getting around 7.8-8.5 litres per 100km on the freeway. For the meet in Melbourne I went to last week I started with a full tank and got back to Bendigo with it a bit under 3 quarters of a tank, so probably about 25 odd litres used (quarter of a tank = 17.5 litres, 70/4) and it's about 150km each way, so 300km, plus some city driving.
  20. Thanks - Bob Jane are doing a refit of their store at the moment but once that's finished in a week or two they are are going to order in a set for me to look at as they're something that should be in stock anyway, so I won't give up on them just yet!! Heheh excellent, you might even see me cruising around up there some day ;) Going home early September and looks like we'll be heading over to Albury for some shopping while I'm home so you never know.
  21. They are awesome pics Peter!! Love that shot of the rear end of mine dripping with water :) They all look absolutely fantastic, loved your pics too Matt! Hahahah SEE I told you! :P There was a slight bit of leverage rofl Yep that lip spoiler is pretty damn hot! Heheh thanks Rowan, am getting a lot of lovely comments about them which is great :)
  22. Okay all I need your help! I will be trawling the forum for answers but I was curious to know individual thoughts on this. Basically I am roughly aware that most with wheels on here with their Camry's/Aurion's have an offset somewhere within the range of 35-45mm. I was looking at a set of PDW Antra-5 alloy wheels (see here http://pdwgroup.com/australia/sports_wheels.html, want Matte Black) and pretty much hard my heart set on them. Two tyre places here have told me that they can fit these for me, but the third place I e-mailed for a quote (Bendigo Tyre Centre, quite reputable) have e-mailed me and stated that these wheels do not come in the correct offset for a Camry, and that they only do fitment for a Ford which would make the wheels stick out 10mm more on a Camry. I am absolutely gutted as these are the only rims I've found that I really like. So who is correct? Bob Janes website shows a plethora of available offsets and their virtual wheels selector show them as fitting the Gen 5 Camry (they do not have Gen 6 as a choice on their site), so I am really confused. Please help!

you bet i will be there :D it already booked in my schedule LOL :P By then, i may also have Cruise Control Installed, otherwise i may have a sore foot on the way down LOL :P But if i can't get cruise control, i'll put up wiith a sore foot to be there next year's Meet should be even bigger then last year, since almost all of us QLD'ers would be driving our cars down, and if the Melbourne ppl are up for it, they will drive up :D "And the Award for Blitz-Fed 1zz goes to Evo7" XD LOL Evo Hahah yes cruise is a necessary thing these days imo!! Definitely comes in handy for the long hauls :) I've already pretty much booked it in my schedule too You're right about it being bigger, a hoping to see quite a lot of people! Will be rounding up as many Victorian's as I can to make the journey up there!
