  1. Does your tacho light work? Does your centre console lights work? Does your interior lights work? If they all work then it's not your fuse. Get a multimeter and check if there's any voltage coming out of the socket in the boot. Hmmm if they are all with the same fuse then.... it is not the fuse. Because all my interior lights work. And i tested to see if there is power coming to the light but there is nothing.. What could it be
  2. bahahaha ok. Basically when i bought my aurion its boot light did not work, but i thought that the aurion didn't come with one. Anyway i found it the other day and it doesnt work. It is not the globe because i put a new one in and the previous globe was fine. So is it a fuse ? I think so.... its just i dont know where abouts that fuse is for the boot light. Can anyone tell me? Thanks guys
  3. Hayman reese is a good towbar. Look up for a Hayman Reese supplier in your local area, they will have distribution bars, towbars and heaps more.
  4. Ah yes thankyou for bringing this topic up. My aurion hasn't even got lighting for the boot. So how would i make it work only when the boot opens ?
  5. Hi Mate, i tow a 750Kg trailer, and the Aurion has no problems what so ever. The gearbox is the best as it changes on inclimbs and stays. Very reliable unlike me old ford. All i needed was a weight dristribution bar to support the rear of the car as it's front wheel drive. But otherwise I reccomend it for towing. It is awesome !!!!
  6. OK here it is. The Aurion has bout 160KW at the front wheels. Which beats the commodore and flacon by about 10 KW give or take a few. Therefore GO TOYOTA AURION
  7. how does the aurion compare to the falcon and commodore when it comes down to the power at the wheels?
  8. i was about to say 488 kw ?? thats totally f***** !! 160kw sounds more like it.... but what about when the car is new.... so i can see how many kw my car has lost.
  9. GEEZ !!! that much !!!!! wow..... ok thanks for that guys.
  10. I just did a quick google and every site tells me that it has 430KW at the front wheels. how is that possible? i was expecting something like 160kw ??
  11. Hey guys, How much power does the aurion have at the front wheels?
  12. What is the "recommended" tyre pressure? My recommended is 38psi, others are 30-40psi. For my sportivo ZR6 i think it was something like 34 psi. I cant remember because it has been a while since i have adjusted them.
  13. Here is a question for you guys out there ! What tyre suits a standard aurion sportivo ZR6 rim thats is quiet and has good grip. My aurion has the standard Michelin tyres from when the car was brand new and i have noticed that they make a fair bit of road noise. Grip is fine but i would like my ride to be quieter. Any suggestions ?
  14. What the hell am I doing wrong ? I get 14L/100km . Car has done 120K . Just had the fuel injectors cleaned and the tyre pressure is always correct . Car is seviced every 7500km . The best ever consumption I've ever got was 9L/100km on a long country drive sitting on 120 which is within 15% of you but my stop start everyday city driving is 40% thirstier . 14L/100km was what I used to get with my AU station wagon that had 150k on it by the time I sold it . What tyre pressure do you use? What engine oil do you use? Is your accelerator a on/off switch? I only use 11L/100km in the city and 7.5L/100km on the freeway and this is before i changed my engine oil to 5w30. I will find out next week how the new oil helps with my fuel ecc. I run the tyre pressure that is recommended, 98 octane fuel BP or Caltex and i just start off slowly and just let the car roll along...... on the high way i let it coast down the hill, and gently go up the hills. I dont like to push the car too much but sometimes i need to give it a boot haha i love the power of the aurion. When i have the trailer on i accelerate down the hill whilst gettin the push from the trailer, so i get good speed without using alot of fuel and then use the momentum up the hills. Its all bout the amount of throttle you use when starting off and going up hills.
  15. Now to stop the stone chips from coming back, put some special plastic adhesive on the bonnet. You can get this done by professionals.
  16. I get around 10L/100km in stop start traffic/ city driving and i get about 8L/100km on the motorway, doin bout 120 km/h. I also tow a trailer which is about 750 kilo's and i average 12-13 L/100km's which i am very pleased about. Aurion is very economical compare to a holden or ford
  17. Hi mate, when it comes down to rust proofing you need to buy POR15 !!!!!! it is a rust preventative paint. (gloss black) I own a aurion, and i am also restoring a 1961 vw beetle, i am painting its undercarriage with POR15 and it looks EPIC !! it is super glossy and very very tough, it wont scratch or chip and stops rust from getting worse or even starting. I bought it from a VW shop in campsie NSW. Otherwise i am not sure where else to get it. But i am sure if u look around you will find it. I recommend it, really really good stuff.
  18. Hey guys, i have put some sound deadening in my wheel wells, and while i was at it i thought i would change my parking globes to some white LED lights. People say to take the bumper off, but here is a easier solution. Step1: Jack the car up and take off the wheel. Step2: undo all the screws and clips that holds the plastic under the wheel well and fender. Step3: Remove the plastic completely. Step4: Now up in the top right hand corner you will see the back of the parking light. Twist it anitclock wise and remove it from its place. Step5: pull out your old globe and replace it. Step6: put everything back in reverse order. SIMPLE AS THAT !! if you want to short cut a little, dont take the wheel off, but it will be a bit cramped, taking the wheel off will give you lots of room and make this project easier.
  19. Hey DJ i just want to know how you keep your plastics shining !! Your car is in prestige condition looks fantastic good job mate
  20. Ahhhh i found out that the wires taps didn't cut the plastic coating on the wires which didn't crate the circut. But for those people out there, the red wire going to the tail light it the power. And the black/white wire is the earth I also recommend soldering the wires together, as the wire taps dont do their job properly. But now its great !! i snatch reverse nd the camera comes on !!
  21. Hey guys, i have bought and GPS head unit off ebay with a reverse camera and i installed it all with the camera wired up .....but when i select reverse ..nothing happened. I suggest that i got the wires mixed up...but im not sure, So can anyone help?? The reverse light has a red wire and a black/white wire going to it, and i have to tap in the 2 wires from the camera it self. I found out that i did everything correct up at the headunit...but i just need help with the reverse lights thanks guys :)
