  1. I've had falcons and commodores and there standards are nowhere near the Aurions. Toyota's are way more reliable, better quality, and way more powerful and fuel efficient. (the Aurion that is) I think that my Aurion is even better than my BMW 740Li ! The dash parts, buttons, vinal, "fake wood grain dash components" are all falling apart and coming loose, its all rubbish! and the reliability of my BMW is beyond recognition. i love toyota, the end.
  2. oh really! hmmmm ok.... i shall try my luck with the first link i posted... see how that goes.
  3. yes i like the first one aswell, but i came accross a japanese manufacturer called "eonon" and they make units for aurions and camrys. People say that they have good quality recievers so i might have a look at that
  4. Hey guys, i currently have an aftermarket head unit and i do not like it. The radio reception is the worst part of the unit but overall i want to replace it with a new one. I have been on ebay looking around for one and i do not know which one to get, they all seem to be similar. I would like one with good radio reception and DVB-T reception. Same with the GPS. I have come across with these which is what i think are the best on ebay at the moment. Let me know what you think, and let me know if you know of any other better units. Cheers http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/320743457878?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_17326wt_1031 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/120758011046?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_10040wt_1142 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/260817305470?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_9151wt_1141
  5. What aftermarket GPS head unit is not suffuring with radio reception quality? My current one is crap, i drive 1 hour away from sydney metro and the radio reception starts to die. Which head unit does not have this problem?
  6. A large chunk of them have support for reverse cameras. Like I stated, you need to actually go to a shop and speak to the professionals and outline your needs to them. From that they will be able to recommend units, from which you will be able to do further research of your own online to make up your mind which is the unit for you. Cheers mate
  7. Thanks for your info, but those after market units that you recommended, would they come with a reverse camera ?
  8. I bought a after market head unit off ebay about 9 months ago as i wanted a reverse camera, and the price was fairly decent compare to the factory unit. But they are crap and i would like to swap it for a factory unit. What options do i have and what are the price ranges? I found this one on ebay from sydney city toyota, is this worth it? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-GENUINE-TOYOTA-SATELLITE-NAVIGATION-FOLLOW-ME-/290586589849?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43a84f7a99#ht_2847wt_1046
  9. yep i will have to agree with you on that haha, i had no idea what that little red thing was, i didn't take much notice. (i thought it was a security light or something) But It's all good now, Cheers guys
  10. Hahaha you cannot be serious that is where the sensor is... I have a little mascot sitting right on top of it (he is meant to protect the car whilst im out).. Thanks for your help i shall remove the objects off the dash board and see if the auto lights improve. Thanks for that diagram,! Cheers guys.
  11. nah its just the car comes with that feature and i would like to use it, but i was just concerned with the way it performs. I hate having all this new technology and not making the most of it...
  12. Hey guys, i always have my headlights in the "auto" position and i realised the other day (really hot and sunny) i was driving with the sun facing directly at me and my lights were still on. Sometimes they will switch off when there is sunlight but very rarely, they always seem to be on. Is there a way to fix this problem? And where abouts is the sensor for the auto headlights?
  13. Car dealerships pump the tyres up on all their cars as they sit around for a while which can deform the tyre (makes the tyre have a flat spot) So they pump them up to prevent this from happening. The Aurion should have about 33psi.
  14. yeh that happens to every car. The metal expands alot when it is very hot and when it cools down it shrinks back to normal size hence the ticking noises. It is basically minute rapid movements between different parts of the exhaust system. Nothing to worry about mate.
  15. Toyota's are a very durable, reliable car and in theory they should not have any problems. Just make sure you check the service history, logbooks, etc.... If everything is 100% in that department, then that car should be a good buy. Take a couple for a test drive at that price range to get a rough idea on whats out there.
  16. Great work! A 10db difference is huge. Excuse my ignorance, but with the whee wells did you apply it on the outside? If so, are there any issues with it such as pealing off? No i took the wheel off then all the plastic. I got the gurney and blasted the area clean and then stuck it on. And no i will not peal off, once it is on it is fairly perminent
  17. So true mate, the reason why i bought an aurion (as i owned a falcon) was because i could not stand the build quality in the ford.....but to be honest i didn't realise toyota slacked off this much im dissapointed. My 95 camry that i had back in the day was absolutely perfect ! I really hate this plastic s*** Toyota needs to return to making cars the way they used to make them.
  18. Yes the Aurion has ALOT of road noise, so i went to supercheap auto and ordered some sound deadning material for about $150. I stuck this stuff on up in my wheel wells mainly in the front and some in the rear. I also stuck some inside the center console as i noticed some noise coming up through there. The difference is 10 decibels. Without sound deadening the aurion was 74-75 decibels at 100KM/H / 2000rpm on the M7 then with sound deadening with those same figures and road, the reading was 64-65 decibels. So i am very happy with my result andi can notice the difference !!!
  19. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/H11-Philips-Crystal-Vision-Halogen-White-Globes-bulbs-/110729605833?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19c7ffb2c9#ht_1940wt_907 I installed these, and they are great ! they also come with white led parkers.
  20. How to get that perfect shine! 1. rinse your car off with clean water. Fill up your clean bucket with clean water and add meguiars gold class wash shampoo. 2. Use a micro fibre sponge and thoroughly wash the car from top to bottom to avoid swirls and scratches. 3. Rinse your car off with clean water. 4. Dry your car off with a micro fibre chamois. 5. Get out your meguiars quick clay detailing system and clay bar your whole car. remember to turn over your clay bar to avoid scratching the paint. 6. Dry off your detailing mist residue as you are going along, don't worry about getting the finish perfect as our next step is polishing. 7. If your car has got swirls get meguiars swirls X or scratch X to remove swirls and scratches. Apply with a foam pad in a circular motion panel by panel. 8. Allow the product to dry IN THE SHADE (never polish or wax in the sun) and then wipe off your residue with a micro fibre cloth. 9. Grab some meguiars next generation 2.0 wax liquid to protect the surface of your car. Apply with a foam pad in circular motions all over the car. 10. Once your product is dry wipe off with a microfibre cloth. 11. After that we finalise the whole process by polishing your car with meguiars wax cleaner (paste) apply with a foam pad in circular motions. 12. After the product is dry wipe off with your microfibre cloth. To get the best finish, get a rotary buffer and buff the car with a sheep wool pad. (only buff after your have wiped off the residue with a microfibre cloth) 13. Your car is now clean and super shinny !!!! Check out mequiars USA videos on youtube to find out more info on how to do the wass and wax process. But the steps here is basically going to give you the best result. Don't forget, when ever you see an imperfection, "buff it out !" :D
  21. Next time the unit is out, why don't you try put the vent into the dash and see how it sits. You can also hook up the vent to the unit before you put both back into place to see how they sit. Perhaps it may all become clear then what is going on. It should not be that hard. Hmmm i might try that out. thanks for the tip.
  22. Today i took my whole unit out (for the 9876543456787654th time) and i removed the brackets. I drilled the holes bigger so that i can position the bracket in such a way that the unit will move up. i also got out a file and started filing the slot where the clips for the aircon unit goes into so that everything moves up. I re installed everything and it made no difference..... <_< I still think the holes where the screws go into the side of the unit have to be bigger. This will allow me to pull the brackets down allowing the unit to go up. i have to admit it was alittle bit better but still far from my standards. Lets see if i can fix this problem
  23. That should fit, it says 3.5 V6...
  24. Thanks for the reply mate, i appreciate it. I took the lining off today to see the wires, and i can see which lume goes where. The only problem is that there are alot of red and black wires. But i will try out what you told me. And i will see if i can solve the problem. But i also just realised another problem. My rear left door light doesn't work either and that bulb is fine aswell, and all the wiring is intact...... what could this mean..?
  25. What is happening is the bottom part of the vent is hooked onto the top part of the unit and won't allow the vent to be pushed fully back into the dash. The only way i can push it back fully is by lifting the unit up, but i can't do that because the brackets won't allow me to. I think i may have to drill bigger holes in the brackets and remove the clips on the aircon unit to lift the whole thing up. This should allow me to push the air vent back nice and flush to the dash. What do you guys think? am i crazy to be fiddling with this or should i leave it.
