  1. black will need frequent elbow grease, swirls will appear straight after your first wash lol, needs to be polished once a week if outside. If the car is garaged, probably every fortnight. Well thats what i do with my black bmw.
  2. Holly sh!t.......... , rightyo.... try wreckers?
  3. i saw a new aurion in sydney, It was a presara. I would have to say that the looks of the car is stupid. The previous aurion looked nothing like a camry, and was a car of its own with unique lines. This thing looked exactly like a 2012 camry, totally wrong, and it looked outdated.... no where near as modern. Such a shame, becuase its a great car with awesome features. Toyota messed this one up
  4. contact toyota spare parts, may not be cheap though, but the factory antenna is made for that unit and will work the best.
  5. hmmm you can try toyots r us, they are in vic i think, but they can post up here to sydney.... have a search and look around on google, cal up some places and ask for what you are looking for. I bought mine off toyota, it was a second hand part from a prado, you can call toyota spare parts aswell. I think mine was like $180
  6. All i have is the ipod connection plug and the MP3 connection plug... no usb connection. Sorry mate.
  7. Wooooo that is a sexy looking aurion, whata awesome find!
  8. I think that toyota may of sorted out the mechanical parts of this car, making the gear changes sharper and go around corners better. The car has lots of nice features, so the car is now a strong competitor with holden and ford. As for looks, well..... the presara looks classy and elegant like a lexus and the sportivos look like a WRX. I have nothing against the styling of the car, but there will be a facelift model in a couple of years time.... and they will probably readjust the styling of its bumpers and lights..... To be honest i think the new camry/aurion has the wrong lines, the car looks too tall and short like a corolla.... the previous models lines were more unique.
  9. permanon is just a sealant which keeps contaminants off the surface and makes it shinny. Swirl marks are light scratches in your clear coat, only way to remove that is by cutting the surface back with a rotary and some swirl remover.
  10. My aurion with the GTA car kit ipod connectivity. This car has good sound quality and bass quality standard.
  11. I totally agree with you Domo. Interesting thing happened the other day!! I washed my car, but i realised that it has got quite a few swirls starting to come through so i went ahead and rotary buffed it to remove them. Whilst applying the swirl remover (meguiars) the machine really gripped to the paint work, i had to lubricate it with some quick wax..... and when i removed the wax and touch the surface, it makes are squeeky sound. Rubbing your hand against the surface required alot of energy and was very restrictive, but it was smooth. I then applied a meguiars carnauba wax and the finish is AMAZING, sooo reflective and extremely smooth and the squeaking had ceased. Applying wax over permanon is very interesting, and was very hard work.... it felt like rubbing 2 strong magnets against each other. I think what has happened was the permanon was attracting the wax to the surface. So it's interesting..... anyway now i have no swirls and the car is shinny and smooth. Oh yes by the way, i did not clay my car because i didnt need to (been like 5 months since it hasn't been clayed) because permanon hasn't allowed any contaminants to bond to my surface... so this stuff is a life saver :D
  12. haha Ayrton mate, i soo need a go pro for my go kart..... probs when i go into clubman light next year
  13. Yes mate, i have the exact same sat nav as you, and it works great. You can control your music from your iphone or from the seek buttons.
  14. i got mine from here. all plug and play, works great. There is also a vid on the website so check it out. works with factory sat nav as well. http://www.gtacarkits.com/toyota_camry_2007_2011_car_kit.php
  15. Ok so here are a few pic. There are 2 pics of the wires going into the back of the head unit. Both pics have the same plug and wires all do the same thing, only thing is that the wire colours are different, so choose the pic that you need and go from there. Your mic should have 3 wires coming out of it, match the colours up and stick them into the correct pins of this 24 pin plug. If you have any other questions on the wiring, im happy to help, but for now i think this will be able to get you started. As for the mic its self, i brought it under the dash (passenger side) and brought it up through the front side pillar then across the front part of the roof lining and into the sunglass holder. fairly simple. But like i said, if you need any more assistance, im happy to help out.
  16. looks good mate! My sat nav is installed as well and loving every bit of it. Still got the bluetooth mic to hook up and thats it :D
  17. yes very true, the longest i have ever had wax made my car bead before was like 2 weeks.... and that was with meguiars (the best stuff out) but permanon is perfect for long lasting paint protection.
  18. Ha, just found out that they don't produce the mic anymore, and you can only purchase second hand ones..... so i got one from a prado i think, which was $180, so its little bit different, but the wiring should be the same. i will take pics and show you which wire goes where when i get around to doing it.
  19. Yep thats perfect ^ using this stuff on the rims and behind the rims and all up in the wheel wells was the best thing that i could of done, it makes cleaning the wheels a breeze. I even sprayed some on my bmw and omg the brake dust flies off !! However i am starting to see some swirls coming through, so i think im going to do a cut and buff/polish the next time i wash my car..... The permananon did well sealing my paint up untill now, but i want to get rid of those swirls... so bring out the orbital polisher :P
  20. Ok, i found the speed sensor wire. (purple wire in the steering wheel control plug) and i pluged the wire into pin #3 of R12 input. I went for a test drive and i was succesful, the voice guidence told me the turn by turn directions, so im happy with that. I then tired to solve out my reverse cam, by pluging my back draft radar testing line from my aftermarket camera to pin #5 on the R12 input, and no result. I still can't manage to flip the screen to "check surroundings for safety" I called toyota for assistance, and i shall get an email by tomorrow. Hopefully they can help me out.
  21. I think that the speed and reverse sensor is in the audio plug, and the reverse wire is pin #5 and speed sensor is pin #3. Which plug is the audio plug R15 or R14?
  22. ahhh.... yes i see. would you know where the wire is located on the harness and which pin is has to be connected to? im guessing it has to connect to one of the pins in the R12 input......
  23. ok, fair enough... but then why does my voice guidence not want to work? . All the settings have been set so that the guidance operates automatically (i have literally tried every setup) and still nothing works.
  24. I am doing a 6disc stacker to factory satnav swap over and i have realised that my voice guidance is not working when im using my gps. I researched this and i found out that my speed signal wire is not connected to my R12 plug in the back of my satnav. So what i need to do is locate my reverse and speed signal wires so i can hook it up to the sat nav. due to my research, i have found out that these wires should be in plug AE5 and AE6 under my dash (according to toyota nation forum) but that is in an american camry. So things may differ for the aurion. I am pretty sure that the AE5 and AE6 plug is on the driver side under the dash, near the parking sensor button. But i do not know if that contains the wires that im looking for. So does anybody know where the speed and reverse signal wires are? Or if there is a way to test the wires to pinpoint which ones are which? Daryl, if you are reading this, I think this is the reason why my reverse camera is not working. Because my reverse signal wire is not connected to my R12 plug. (aurions that came with the navigation would have this pre installed (obviously) which is why the camera worked for everyone else) So once i get this step sorted my camera should work.
