  1. This is the problem though. What ever mod you do the aurion it tunes the car down back to its factory settings, therefore no improvement on power. I already have the K&N and no difference in power. Is there any other solution to tuning up the ecu? I know that Haltech does fords and holdens. Nothing with toyotas though..
  2. like i said i really want to give this ago, it may be surprisingly good or a waste of money. Like always, the only way to know is to try it out.
  3. I don't believe that those figures are completely realistic, but i do believe in ecu tuning, and this looks like the most cost effective way on doing it to an aurion?
  4. haha. I think the flash tuner will actually do something....... I have seen impressive results from people plugging these modules in. And as you know the aurion is tuned down quite abit, i think this will unleash more power. Im willing to be a guinea pig for this one..... its only $200. Hmmm this Flash tuner claims that it alters the amount of air and fuel going into the engine.... this might actually make that electric supercharger thingo work?
  5. I have heard about this "flash tuning" module which is plugged into your OBD2 plug under your dash, and tunes your ecu. This module is meant to increase horsepower for when the pedal is to the metal, and better fuel economy when cruising along. I thought, can we do this to the aurion? so i searched it up and found nothing. However in America they have one for the camry V6 which is the same as the aurion, correct me if im wrong. This module plugs in for 3 minutes, tunes up your ecu and you will have better torque, power, fuel economy etc. This is it here. http://www.performancechiptuning.com/Stage+3+Performance+Chip+OBDII+Module/14/ Has anybody done something like this to their aurion?
  6. unbolting the rear mufflers doesn't improve performance, and gives a nice natural note. under 90db.
  7. Yes, well Kyle was running the older 1200cc engine in the commodore (same engine since 07), but it turned out that he didn't end up getting the aurion as he didn't quite have the cash, but he did get the 1300cc engine for the new season.
  8. If a unit is bought from america, would the radio work and all that stuff? where would i get maps for the unit?
  9. I also want a kenwood or pioneer double din gps unit with all the extras, but i don't really want to go over 1k, i don't mind installing it my self but is it possible to get a unit like this with all extras around the 1k mark ? I have tried ebay but i can never find something with all the extras, where abouts would i be able to get one in that price range?
  10. I believe that Kyle Clews is now going to be racing the TRD Aurion in Aussie racing cars. He was in the commodore which had 100cc less than the aurion and was always challenging them, can't wait to see how much he will flog everybody in the Aurion! One of the best drivers out there, keep an eye out for him :D
  11. Ok guys today i spent 4 hours FULLY DETAILING my Aurion. I took the wheels off, cleaned the inside of the rims and spray permanon on them so brake dust won't stick to them. I cleaned the wheel wells and sprayed permanon there as well, along with my calipers and springs etc. I clay bared the paint work and applied permanon over the entire body and i also did the interior plastics. So how did it go? To me the car has a nice glassy shine and a nice smooth feel just like a waxed car, if any water gets onto it, it beads and runs off quickly and smoothly. The end product is excellent, now all we have to do is wait and find out if this stuff will last for the 6months I am fairly confident as i sprayed some on my windscreen about a month ago and with continuous use of the wipers during that period, water beaded and runs off perfectly.
  12. Yes, i am going to do the fog light area and the rear bumper and also underneath the spoiler. So much better then that crappy faded cheap look.
  13. Hi guys, as you know the black plastic on your bumper is not that shiny even with products such as meguiars plastic trim detailer, and not even that lasts long. I have the solution! I basically clear coated the black section on the bumper and it is an amazing result. Took some time but i managed to get it right. All you will need is a good quality clear coat paint such as 3M plastic clear coat. Some 1000-2000 grit wet and dry paper, plenty of clean water and some meguiars swirl remover. Step 1. Sand your plastic down with 1000 grit to get rid of light scratches and stone chips. (don't use rough sandpaper as you will scratch the plastic even more) Step 2. when you are happy with the smooth faded finish, clean the section with dish washing detergent or a concentrated solvent (like CT-18) Step 3. tape up your area and cover the car to prevent overspray ( if your car does get over spray just remove it with wax & grease remover and then clay bar it and polish) Step 4. Start of with a light coat and then apply about 3 extra heavier coats (at 15 minute intervals). Once the paint is dry (most probably in 24 hrs) you would probably notice that your finish is a little lumpy and not that smooth. This is where we sand. Step 5. Get your 2000 grit paper with water and start sanding your finish down and focus on imperfections like bumps and make it as smooth as possible. (this step takes a long time) Step 6. Get a light cutting compound like meguiars swirl remover and thoroughly polish the faded clear coat out, apply preasure by hand and really work it in. You can use a dual action polisher which work very well. Step 7. ADMIRE THE GLOSSY FINISH JUST REMEMBER WHEN SANDING AND POLISHING DON'T BURN THROUGH THE CLEAR COAT!
  14. no worries mate, yes i did check out your website for the camera. Thanks for your help. :D
  15. Yeh mate im getting this sat nav for a good price and i have had enough with sh!t aftermarket units. Will the cameras' wire actually plug into the back of the unit? Becuase im getting the whole wiring lume. How much do u reckon a mic will cost? Thanks
  16. Hey guys, I'm sorry if i brought this topic up again, but i did search and could't find what i was looking for. I just wanted to know. If i bought the genuine Aurion satnav and plugged it into the original ZR6 harness (which originally had the 6 stacker radio) Will everything work? My main concern is the mic for the bluetooth. Will i need to buy and rig up a mic for the sat nav? And the factory reverse camera, Does that just plug in or do you have to wire it up? Thanks guys.
  17. don't forget that after the car was thrashed and trashed... it still drove away perfectly, proving that toyota is indestructible haha
  18. pretty cool seeing the car that we drive every day is in that movie haha. Dislike the fact that the car got destroyed in the scene....
  19. i used supershine, i wash my cars with meguiars products and now use permanon to protect it. Still waiting for a good day to wash my car
  20. i find the toyota shifter.... "Logical".....u push UP to go up a gear and push DOWN to go down a gear.
  21. it is pretty much part silicone (crushed glass) from what i have been told. The main thing is that it is a long lasting paint protection product which gives any hard surface a great shine. My car was very dusty and had lots of bugs splattered on the front of it and all of that came off with a hose and left no water marks after the water had dried (recycled water was used). Excellent product fullstop.
  22. Yes i shall get back to you guys when it is done, but it is raining here in sydney and i don't think it will be stopping for a long time.. so this is going to be abit of a wait...
  23. Yes guys this stuff is terrific, i have spent $220 on a 1litre bottle and i am going to give me my Aurion a full detail with this permanon product. I will be removing all the wheels, cleaning them and applying permanon inside and out, same with the plastic in my wheel wells, my brake calipers and of course the whole exterior and my interior plastics. And then we will be able to see how good this stuff is. I am fairly confident.
  24. I have discovered a new product known as Permanon. It is basically a German polish for aircraft, water craft and automobiles. You dilute to product by 10% with clean water. You would have this in a spray bottle. You would then simply spray it on to any exterior surface of the car, let it sit for a couple of seconds then hose it off giving you a shine that will last up to 6 months. Sounds simple and ridiculous... yes i know, but this is how it works. Permanon is a positively charged chemical, which means that it will bond the the cars surface as it is negatively charged, which is why you spray on and hose off. Dust and dirt that gets onto your car is positively charged as well, which means that when it gets near the surface which the permanon is protecting, the dirt is repelled, or is extremely easy to wash off. To wash the dust off simply hose the car down, you will also notice the the water runs off very easily and quickly due to its slippery surface. Water marks will not appear. This is an amazing product and well worth buying, keep in mind that it is not cheap but it will not disappoint. Watch the video below and it explains it in more detail basically. To purchase visit the permanon website
  25. What did you do to the black inserts on the front bumper? did you paint them? because that looks really good and i have been thinking about painting mine but wasn't sure. Nice aurion you got there mate.
