  1. Also depends on how much u wanna spend<you can go top shelf & purchase two litres Redline lightweight shockproof oil (colour blue) Toyota recommends 80w/90, the shockproof is rated 80w/140 meaning the load rating is higher eg for heavy shifts for racing,Pulling a trailer,Hill climbing etc,Last time i checked the shockproof was selling for the likes of $27.00 dollars a quart (just under a litre)Its expensive but in my experience Jap cars have a characteristic 'Throwback' in shifts,This oil (in my opinion)can eliminate or 'shorten' throwback, which u can feel the difference by less notchy non loaded shifts and easier shifts under load..
  2. Agreed ..the darker one is better

  6. Gday peeples, Its been awhile Ive logged in the forums (well close to a year to date)I do apologise but now I'll try to be active in the forums,Just a lil back ground check,12yrs in Coventrys (Automotive spare parts) 6 months stint in Prosser Toyota Canning Vale & now working for a pump company. Im a welder by trade so mostly all the mods on my rolla are custom made esp my race length (not tune length) headers,& I know my way around the aftermarket industry pretty well.Ive been actively in motorsport for four years but with a new edition to my family (daughter) ive taken a break (full time)for year & half to date. I drive a lil silva 02 rolla on 16 inch PF1's with a sweet note & hoon around (did i say hoon NAAAHH??!!) around Canning Vale /Willetton area stock plates 1BGC945 oh got a red Decepticon sticker on the Bum,the cars a family car now so the blings gone (sorry) Ide love to meet u all one day (maybe a cruise??) but please feel free to PM me if any queries & look forward to chatting with u all.. mister (hahahha) Boz

  8. The Ferodo brand has two types of performance pad avail on the market,The TS2500 everybody been talking about is a track purpose pad only,& the ts2000 or the FF type is the pad i recommend for its classified as a street pad,'rotorsafe' for getting a milk run to ur closest deli but will hold its own on the track ,bear in mind both pads work on certain temp ratings the 25s being purpose built for racing & 2ks for daily drive slash motokhana.. The EBC greens are the same spec as the 2000s,brands like Pagid,Ebc reds,Hawk & Project u(mu) are compared to the 2500,ur call..my recommendation would be the 2000 spec pad,at least u wont be changing rotors annually as well
  9. hey bud, welcome to the TOCA,great to see more WA members onlineIn regards to ur CAI & purchasing it locally,Ive tried everybody from Vision R,Hyperdrive, mostly all the Toyota modding specialists, not many will carry the TRD brand,if they do(thats if they do) ull be paying thru the nose BIG TIME,I work for PROSSER Toyota & getting TRD specd stuff is hard too,I recommend buying ex east or online EVEN if u still wanna buy locally ive found the K&N brand an easily procurable brand to get??,u'll save money by buying ex east, check out the other brands the members are using thatll indicate what the CAI market like in Aust.. good luck
  10. Hey boyos..looks like uve been busy trying to get a meet happening Check this out ..After a month stint at Perth brake parts.welshpool(which was very educational),Im officially starting my new employment with Prosser Toyota Canning Vale this monday coming(as service advisor)& 'again' in the mindset for new employment, meaning my weekend is totally booked,After being in safety boots for ten years plus & got to rekindle my long lost relationship with my italians(bizzie shoes) & french cuffd cotton shirts & windsor knotted ties again. Boys.....I am sorry for pulling out again but i assure you all once i get settled in (give it a week or two) Im gonna try to be accountable,& with the help of other members in & out of our organisation try to help TOCA WA as much as i can in parts awareness & service secrets hehehhe ...here we go again heh?? :yahoo:

  12. hey man just reading on the redline site. - they mention that super light is not so good for synchros is that right ? the one that reccomend is heavy shock proof?? just wondering Ive changed the oil to lightweight shockproof straight away wen i got my car,I wouldnt recommend the super lightweight or the heavy weight,The recommended weight genuine Im pretty sure is 80W90 but the 'blue ' shookproof oil is rated at 80W140 meaning it has a higher load rating for those loaded weekend trips or heavy changing excursions (track days) ,Ive never had a problem with my synchros with my car the change transitions are noticable straight away for the the changes ive noticed are a lil tighter with a short shifter its very noticable like mine,Ive worked very closely with the redline group in perth,They know me very well coz i used to sell there product by 20 ltr or 4 ltr packs in bulk & roadtested there product ,it may sound biased but u gotta try this u'll be quited impressed
  13. fastest Hamilton Team McLaren Drivers Alonso Hamilton Pole Hamilton
  14. rolling gear looks great & ride looks insane ...love it
  15. 2 years now and about 20% tread left but then again I don't launch it at every set of lights. A great tyre in the wet too ! My toyos are proxes t1r are pretty much 2 years & still goin good,I have an alternative set for track days but still run with toyos but the 888 series fantastic semis slick tyres,Pirellis are great but realistically at the price there set at if ur goin by 'best bang for your buck'?? ide recommend the toyo series or Yokos,Ide drive with the 888's to & from events ,max six laps (hard driving) great in the wet & dry,my daily driver set proxes t1r's are still sticky wen at a grippable temp & thats two years old,u cant get better than that?? recommended
  16. agreed like all things traditional .. hang on the left

  18. After eleven years working for Coventrys i've finally pulled the pin & have proceeded my new career at Perth brake parts,With my engineering skills & sales savvy i've joined a well established company (of twenty years) & great team of people,Specialising in not only the standard brakes market but the top shelf as well eg EBC,Bendix Ultimates,Ferodo ds2000 or ds2500,Pagid & Ap racing etc..We recon calipers & also supply upgrade kits,Im currently sourcing out suppliers that can accommodate with our market(JDM) & am sourcing as well clutches to be put in our line for the future,Being my first two weeks,The first week was hard but i feel ive settled in & ready for the challenges in the future ,Still nervous as f**k being so used to the comfort zone of Covs & now im in the 'Raw??' (so to speak) but ill take week for week for now & hope for the best WA members feel free to PM me if any queries ;) UPDATE.....GRADUATED ambulance attendant..Dont know wen i'll start but im done

  20. Ive had my plain jane Rolla 02 Ascent for four plus years now,Ive done most of the work in the engine bay myself from custom made exhaust headers to the installation of after market computer,Ide say engine bay wise is far from stock,Stuck a couple of Racing rims & Novelty japanese racing stickers here & there to complete the look,Ive come to the point now ide like to get outta the 'Stock' look & progress to the improvement of the outside of my ride,Being in the Automotive parts industry for ten plus years I thought it wouldve been easy to procure locally but Ive been disappointed at this stage. Ide like to ask the members for help in giving me some names of suppliers(other than Ebay for now ),I am wanting to change at first an aftermarket Radiator grille (geniune TRD or lookalike, preferred TRD),Ive got Side skirts,Front & rear kit lined up from a inside guy in Toyota,And 'would love' to know how to get the wingtips for the rear. I know in the past, members have been flogging parts profusely on the forum but most of the traffic has been from the east not many from the west,Any sort of input or offers would be appreciated,Ive put aside a nice lil budget for this,as in past i have been known to go overboard,But I will only buy quality parts, free from ties & defects...'no dogdeys'. Please either post or PM me & I will return as promptly as i can & Ide like to thank all the members in advance for the past modding suggestions in the past ,Hope to hear from you
