  1. You can't get it plastic welded can you, might be worth a try and cheaper too?
  2. Looks great Shadow, did you paint the calipers on the car or take them off?
  3. On the same subject, I have been trying to change my profile pic, I have gone thru my settings but no luck and even clicked on the pic when 'Change' has come up, I do the whole crop/upload thing, the pic does change but once I click 'done' or even just the 'x', the new pic stays but if I refresh my profile view it goes back to the old pic. Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong?
  4. This is my 2010 Touring, mostly stock for now except DRLs & the Chrome grill, planned exhaust upgrade, planned new rims, speaker upgrade and have already changed every bulb I can to LEDs and the headlamps and fog lights upgraded also, footwell LEDs, door pocket LEDs, boot LED strip, changed some of the other interior lights to different colours (Shifter letters, shifter slot.), rear bumper reflector mod from on here, have the bodykit & eyelids painted & on but no pics yet, auto folding mirrors painted but not fitted yet. air horns, Drift Sapphire series volts & oil pressure gauges (they match the cluster) just have to be installed.
  5. Actually I didn't think to look behind the rear bumper to see if there were plugs for extra sensors when I had it off to put in the rear reflector lights, how does the dash display look with 4 rear sensors and do any Aurions have 4 front sensors? If anyone knows that I could add the extra sensors if the harness has the connection would it work with the dash display in my car, can someone post a pic of the center sensors on the dash display to show me what they look like? Much appreciated.
  6. I have always wondered why my Touring model only has sensors on the corners, I would like to put some in the center front and rear even though it has a camera, the side ones are a good idea for parking and rim protecting, could just put them in each end of the sideskirt, I am about to put a bodykit on my car and I would like sensors so I do hit concrete barriers or gutters in parking lots with the front lip. Looks like after market is the go but will have to find one that has 2 for the side skirt, 4 for the front spoiler/lip and 2 for the rear bumper middle would be nice. So thats 8 sensors, wonder if I can get a kit designed with 4 for the front and 4 for the back and just place them where I want them. I have noticed genuine kits on ebay that have only 4 sensors but have seen Aurions with 4 sensors on each bumper, well the back one. I will never understood why they didn't put centre ones in on the Touring just cause it has a rear camera, the sensors would still help and front center would be great for parking against a wall or with another car or something in front. Is it only facelift Aurions or just the Touring model that has no center sensors or do other models only have corner ones?
  7. Hi Neowolf, I have a 2010 Touring and I was reading the owners manual and I recall it saying that if a sensor keeps going off it's telling you the sensor needs cleaning, not sure if it tells you that on the dash screen or not, there may be dust/dirt or even polish in it affecting/blocking the sensor, check your manual and see, if you didn't get a manual with the car let me know and I can look it up in mine but I am pretty sure that is what it means, as for cleaning it, I didn't read that bit in the manual but I am guessing it will tell you how, other than that if you clean it and it still goes off it may be faulty. You are right though about the sensor's range, it starts at 50cm.
  8. Yeah mine do stick out further but it really spoils the lines of the car with mine having no chrome strip to match the window frame. They came as part of the dealer pack I got when I bought it new, maybe the larger ones are cheaper due to the fact they don't look as good.
  9. Hey TRD340, You understated 'looking good' about your weather shields, they look fantastic, so do tell, who makes them? where did you get them from? I want a set, I have a black Aurion Touring and as part of the 'Dealer pack' when I bought it I got just the front weather shields (genuine) but was annoyed that they covered and don't have the chrome strip like yours, nice ride you have there, so where can I get a set like yours, my factory ones look crap covering the chrome. Look how it spoils the chrome line on mine in the pic below. Tell me where and I'll get a pair. And that means there is a genuine front set of weather shields for sale off mine if anyone wants them. PM me if you want so I can know where t get the weather shields like yours
  10. Or these ones are up tonight/morning http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-AURION-KEYLESS-ENTRY-REMOTE-/190667081617?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c64a4c791 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Toyota-Genuine-Aurion-Keyless-Remote-/320891672429?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ab6a2576d
  11. As for warranty, I just wonder where they draw the line, I have seen facelift (09 on) Aurions around that have a nudge or roo bar on them just to mount spotlights. Techinically this is would be a non-genuine part but spliced into the wiring system so are they going to void the warranty on the electrics just because you add a set of spotties?? I have added DRLs to mine, would that void the electrics, not to mention, footwell leds, door pocket leds and what about changing interior lamps to leds. Toyota have told me that headlamp upgrades to brighter higher kelvin bulbs does not affect warranty as long as the bulbs are the same wattage as orginal. But if trouble happens they will try to get out of covering you if they can, that is the vibe I get from my local dealership. Just the service and warranty department, the spare parts guys are cool with mods when I have talked to them as long as they are not too extreme. But as Shadow said, Toyotas are reliable and trouble free. As for the brake light blowing every 3 months, I had an 84' Celica for 9 years and never changed a blown bulb in it, I upgraded the headlights but never replace a bulb the whole time I had it. I love my Aurion but I really loved my 84' Celica, actually I have loved all the toyotas I have had, even the 79' Corona I had was a beast. I'm biased but toyota made me that way....lol
  12. I have a 2010 Touring also, already have scratches in the rims, annoying, I have not bothered to do anything about it yet as I would like to change my wheels in the future but still breaks your heart when it happens.
  13. I was passing a Mster Mint or Minute the other day, those guys that do key cutting and such, they had a remote exactly the same as the Aurion on I have, didn't ask them about price, was in a hurry and they were pretty busy, if you have these guys locally give them a try.
  14. Spoke to customs, because R style ship there kits, there is no GST or Customs duty but I found out Customs want 50 to 100 bucks just for paperwork to give the package clearance to leave the dock, I have to get a Customs broker to assess the goods at 70 bucks and the port will want $240 to release the package, it works out the same as Kingdoms kit and the Thai kit you have to get the rear apron cut for the left exhaust where as Kindom have a fibreglass rear lip with both exhaust holes already in it plus you are dealing locally if anything goes wrong. I have spoken to Paul at Body kits Kingdom and I am going through them to buy my kit, ordering it tomorrow and should only take a week, R style say 30 days to ship. Good service is worth a premium.
  15. Also the prices I have had quoted come to about $455 Australian including shipping, not sure if there is any customs duty or import tax once they hit our shores. May give customs a call tomorrow.
  16. I have been dealing with RStyle recently in regards to a bodykit, they only answered the last question in my email to them and have ignored the last 8 I have sent them, if Body Kits Kingdom have the same kit, RStyle list the Miner Change 2009 Camry kit as 100% ABS where as Kingdom list the rear apron as fibre glass and the front lip and side skirts as ABS. I had similar trouble when ordering my fold back mirrors from Taiwan, the is site listed on here, I had to send them several emails to get all my questions answered, I know it's only 2 companies but Thailand and Taiwan but Asian and they both would only answer the last question on the email and ignore others. I would rather service if you are going to pay that little bit more, I bought this grill from Body Parts Kingdom where great to deal with, although pricey they really have it together.
  17. Thanks Defyant, I used red LEDs from Jaycar and could fit two rows of them. I like yours with the single dots for each LED. The Jaycar ones in white were too bright and made the lenses look orange.
  18. Finally got mine done, tricky mod but well worth it I think. Thanks for the pointers and your help Defyant.
  19. Just had a look, Melbourne City Toyota have one on ebay (actually 4 available) for $95 + $15 postage, seems a good deal compared to the $245 one, they say to provide you VIN number to confirm it will suit, the rest of their details on the remote are 'ACV40,GSV40 06/2006 to current , this remote can suit some Aurion Touring only and allows you to enter the vehicle with a touch of the button, also includes boot release and panic alarm, This remote suits Aurion touring models only but VIN number will be required to determine if this remote will suit your vehicle. Not suitable for smart entry system. If unsure please specify your vehicles full V.I.N number, 17 digit number located on the registration label on the windscreen so we can confirm that this item will suit your vehicle, our professional team will be glad to help you all the way through.. The ebay link is http://www.ebay.com....=item20c05a76d5 Hope that helps.
  20. I asked toyota what putting in an Oil Pressure gauge would do to my warranty and they told me cause it is a non-genuine part the whole oil system, gaskets and all would be void even if the problem was nowhere near or related to the gauge's sender. Tnat sucks.
  21. I bought my Touring new in 2010 as a run out model, paid $35,000 which was $990 under Redbook but because it was their last one I managed to get included in the price the dealer pack (headlight & bonnet protectors, boot liner, dash mat, floor mats, seat covers(never used) and tinting. Can't belive they are only asking $31k now, but given they are 2011 models and we are almost in the 4th month of 2012, depending on how many they have left you could get heaps of extras thrown in, all you have to do is ask or tell them you want this and this etc, can't hurt.
  22. Metal13 posted this under the thread. Aurion Service Manuals it was called, it is for the overseas Camry which is they Aurion here, naturally the manual is for left hand drive but not much difference. If you can't access it from this post just go to the thread. Download the .ZIP containing the torrent to all of the manuals from here - Camry_Aurion_Manuals.zip.zip 18.01K 22 downloads You need a Bit torrent client to download the manuals, try UTorrent I will leave it seeding as much as i can over the coming weeks/months
  23. As for the oil line, I asked toyota about this just last week. up to September 08 models have a rubber pipe insert on the back VVT-i line, from after this the hose was replaced with a complete metal one, no rubber insert in the middle, if they are replacing it under warranty it would pay to discuss they put in the better metal pipe or paying the difference and getting the full metal pipe. I have read other forums online about this and they say the metal pipe with gaskets is about $45. I found it googling the oil sender, the fault is due to vibration and the metal parts of the pipe wearing through the rubber. Mine is a 2010 model and the guy at toyota showed me the pre-April 08 pipe and the one used after, he printed this out for me. I feel the metal pipe is what they should be replacing it with under the recall/warranty.
  24. Yeah could be voltage regulator on the back of the alternator, that's where they put them on the Camrys, failing that if it is wiping the memory from the stereo etc, it means total power loss, you could get them to test the alternator, some places will do this for free cause the assume you will buy a new one off them. If that checks out ok, go through the fuses and see if any are cracked or damaged in anyway, loose connections are worse, involves a lot of wire wiggling to see if you can cause the fault to happen while the engine is running.
