  1. Following the results of a recent Dyno day we are convinced the Unichip gets overridden by the ECU over time and requires a retune regularly to maintin peak performance. Nikich, the ECU does learn when you add mods, resetting the ECU just hurrys up the process. The ECU sets it ideal A/F maps by averaging data over a period of time. If you don't reset the ECU that time is longer so the time to perform the average with the new bits takes a longer time. Resetting the ECU gets the base average done in 1/2 an hour of driving. As Rollamods said there are changes to the timing too, but with breathing mods like a CAI and exhaust the A/F ratio is the most important thing.
  2. I enjoy the car... when are TRD sending me my 'cicely mosquito TRD PRO SPEC'? :P
  3. I should be there if you want a convoy back, I'll be in Sydney eariler in the day and just going frm where I will be.
  4. opened the door and in the top corner it looked like they were falling off... like I said, don't know yet if it's related to the wind noise on the highway but will test next time I drive up to Sydney. the squeal issue is the brakes, my car does it too the 1st time I use the brakes for the day, possible just cleaning off the scum and corrosion that forms but only last 1 brake application then never again. Shouldn't need to worry about it.
  5. send a pm to Steve or Matthew (the site founders and Admin) and they can do it for you :)
  6. yes Dave's record is still unbeaten... :o come on guys
  7. will do sunny... that makes it 6.5 then :P
  8. once it carbons up it quietens down too ;)
  9. I went to Forest Rd Shell @ Hurstville to get some Optimax Extreme before my Dyno run on Saturday but didn't go as far as Kingsgrove Rd, was straight back onto King Georges Rd and up to Silverwater... It may have been KT_haha you saw. My rear still has all it's badges by the way :P
  10. we could almost start our own little Wollongong group down here soon... :) Welcome guys
  11. the wind noise is most likely due to the door rubbers, which can be replaced under Warranty (mine were done on Monday :D ) but I've not been on the highway yet to see if the noise is gone.
  12. ummmm.... that would be exactly what I am getting at :)
  13. NT Buddha... think open speed limit goodness :) NT is one of the states I'm yet to visit, but I'm looking forward to the opportunity one day! ;) NT isn't a state! :P Its the Northern Terrority State :) what? Drunken? :P
  14. Count me in 50% I've been waiting to get back out for a while... though depends on the weather, I'd like it to cool down a bit first...
  15. I'm definately impressed with the more factory finish of the setup. I'd liko to know how it goes with a cheap @rse SRI pipe though instead of the standard piping (plus there is a MAF mounting point on the SRI)
  16. Lower pressures allows the more rubber on the track and for the tyre itself to be softer when hot which is great for launches. On the track you need a stiff sidewall so the tyhres dont slide around on the rim and on the track surface so it's harder. There aren't corners on a drag strip so you don't need to worry if the tyres don't grip immediately on turn in. Buddha - is your wagon an Auto? If so lower tyre pressure will not help... :P I personally found that ~25psi to be acceptable (but that was at 16 degrees ambient)
  17. NT Buddha... think open speed limit goodness :)
  18. I had 5 tanks + ECU reset + service Plus I've been luck and been able to fill up while driving in Sydney but, cannot get Extreme100 down here in Wollongong (closest Extreme Service station is 55km away) and still cheaper for Vortex98...
  19. I've seen him and I showed him my ***** too :P
  20. Make sure it's Vortex98, not regular Vortex (95RON)
  21. Are you going to divide it by the population of each state to determine a real number for this, or are you just going to give to NSW right now? My vote is for NT BTW :P
  22. I've been using 100RON since coming back from Qld. I'm going back to Vortex 98 as I haven't seen much improvement and it's about 6c/L cheaper.
