  1. Do you want qualifications or what we do....???? I'm an Analytical Chemist according to 1st degree, Organic Chemist for Honours, worked as a Analytical/Polymer Chemist for an R&D company and now doing a PhD (student again, only not as poor as before :D ) in Materials Engineering (Polymer Coatings).....
  2. 12kgs with tyres!!!!
  3. The only time I had the squeel was when reversing down my folks driveway which has about a 20 deg gradiant and only on cold or wet days, I just assumed it was low friction from cold brakes!!!! I happens on both their cars also (Subaru Liberty and Outback) so I thought nothing of it. Haven't had a problem over here in Wollongong and I reverse slowly into my carpark every time I get home from a drive.
  4. Cheers guys, Looks like the Shell at Corrimal and Warrawong are the closest I tryed to get BP Ultimate from Towradgi on advice from the BP websight but went there and found it was only 95RON But didn't check Shell because I assumed they wouldn't give discount on the good stuff but :D cos they do....
  5. I seems a few of us have just or are in the process of getting the 12 month service, so I'm tracking down the lucky owner of the first delivered Stivo in Oz... Mine was delivered 16 July '03... Any takers...
  6. so was the GTP Ferarri on track the same time as you guys? Nice shots...
  7. Just on fuel Zee.... where do you get 98RON in Wollongong, everywhere seems to only have 95ROM Pemium, I always ran on Mobil Synergy 8000 in Adelaide but can't find it here outside of Sydney
  8. Is that the bright yellow one Zee, that is a sweet ride...... and also wasn't the GT Porsche model previous the GT2? but why would you sell that either....?
  9. Toyota were unaware that the exhaust outlet pushed hot air directly onto the skirtuntil this happened so it was thier fault hence they payed...... This was just what their solution to my melting bumper skirt, was a bit of a quick fix rather then a tip change which would have taken them more effort and may have changed the sound of the exhaust note (hence would have to retested for EPA sound levels). But I don't mind I kinda like it, it's individual!!!!!! :P
  10. Bugger...... Stills looks impressive though.... :D
  11. Nice work... See how it compares to this weekends GTP and ProCar times.....
  12. Maybe there is just a little more then a face lift!!!!!!
  13. No scrape, just a patch I didn't clean properly... ;)
  14. Here are the pics on the cut bumper.... And this is the extension.... finally worked it out..... :D
  15. If they don't upgrade our cars (those already purchased) and just do the ones atill on the shelf waiting and waiting and waiting to be passed and sold, I'm sure there is a good case for Dept of Consumer Affairs.....
  16. It took them years to get a turbo MX5 again after the original so dunno how long it will take them to make a turbo 3, if at all....
  17. hmmmmmmmmmmmm thanks guys, didn't know that, but hey, I'm still having fun LIFTing
  18. Call me stupid if you will, but what's the big power issue that you all keep refering too.... I hope it's not that you don't get 141kw at the wheels because, no matter what your car is the flywheel torque will always be greater then the wheels, just simple physics really. Energy is lost through many places in the transition between the enging and the wheel, brief summary, transmission, diff and drive lines, hub and bearings etc, plus loss through sound, friction, heat etc If there are other issues I'd be glad to know what they are but if it's simply the transfer of power to the road, then, keep the research going on improvements, but don't blame the engine.... and on that has anyone tryed installing an L/S Diff of upgrading the clutch plate to see what the effect was??
  19. How the hell did all this come from the posting of some pics of some damn nice wheels........ <_< But I agree, keep the drags off the street and on the strip, but remember, the stivos were built to turn as well as run in LIFT... it's all about the ride improvement and drivability, and by the sounds of it peekay you're mods are doing you just fine for what you want and that's all that matters...... Keep up the good work and you're research is well respected....
  20. I personally think the SP23 isn't as bad as you may think.... It may suck stock, but is more easilly tunable then the stivo. The 2.3 engine has a much lower compression ratio than the stivo and old SP20 2L engine so I feel would respond quite well to turboing... with a little work I'd be a damn quick car... so just a work of caution before you get a rush of blood at the lights, know your competition.... give them a little respect...
  21. Oran Park is the V8 Supercars round no ProCar or GTP races, and is the following weekend 13-15 August. This weekend (6-8 Aug) is Wakefield Park for ProCar and GTP and they also have a big Ute muster for the V8 Brutes at the event which would be good to show up.... :P
  22. Hey Xoom, They have the same problem in Singapore.... No hatches, of any car, not just corrolas, there is a feeling in these countries that a sedan is more 'classy' and as only the 'haves' are able to buy cars in these countries due to high import duties on motor vehicles due to no manufacturers of their own to keep prices down as we have in Australia :) they like to buy whay they consider to be the best.... Ignorance is bliss, wouldn't they love to know what they are missing out on.... And before I get comment on people seeing hatches in Singapore, many of these are private imports from Japan that the owners pay exorbinant import duty on (150% of new purchase price no matter of age). You cannot buy hatches from a dealer....
  23. ProCar series moves to Wakefield Park this weekend for those interested from Sydney and Canberra, I can't make it though, I'll be running the 14kms to Bondi.....
