  1. That's the first time i've heard of that issue. Wow, if that's true, i want my money back! -Chris
  2. damn! that's going to be like a whole day at the dyno place man. it's gonna be dyno..then work work work...dyno then work work work. i reckon it's worth all the trouble. Then you REALLY know what you're getting and if it was worth doing the mod. Can't wait to see how it all goes. -Chris
  3. definately keen on showing up on the track and supporting the stivo! :D -Chris
  4. nope! know nothing about it. mine is a Dec 03 build. possibly the earlier models...maybe. *shrugs* -Chris
  5. 4-1 extractors, highflow cat and full exhaust system with a sports muffler (not a straight through design, coz u need back pressure) will raise the power to 85kw at the wheels or 110kw at the fly. (i used to have a levin..i miss that..) Unichip would make a significant difference too. I've enquired about turbo charging my levin (before...) and it'll cost around 10-12k to do a proper job. that's a decent size turbo, decent size front mount, piping, custom manifold..the lot! oh..and also includes computer too! :P got the quote from Advan Performance here in sydney. -Chris
  6. nads got semi's aye? damn! are they legal? how as it affected the car? eg; cornering, etc. -Chris
  7. $50 bucks at the dealership. yep. that's right. Only the front can be aligned. because of the rear torsion beam, we can't adjust the alignment at the rear.
  8. i feel that going into 3rd is the hardest...1-->2 is pretty easy in my car. -Chris
  9. Mazda Astina V6 (didn't know they came out in V6). At lights. Launched crap...up my bumper in 1st....i hit lift...getting away...change to 2nd...hit lift...still behind me..but the gap is building...hit 3rd....still behind me...gap getting pretty big....backed off once he was bout 50m behind me. (i think he realised it was useless) :D pulled up next to me on the lights..asked what it was..and i told him it was a 'stock' corolla. he didn't believe me, so i pulled over and showed him under the bonnet. yep! she's a stocker alright! took for a quick drive in the stivo....YEP!!! i think he wants to buy one! said he was looking into a new car...hahah....I might have converted him...into buying a Sportivo that is..but...where can he buy one? Haven't seen any dealerships with any at all. Castle Hill Toyota (where i bought mine) doesn't even have one in stock at all. he also considered turbo charging it....hmm...gonna be quick! but the engine bay is so tight and there ain't much room. but....with enough money....it's do-able. Good run :D i was quite surprised he stayed with me for a while...(if u consider being able to see him in your rear view mirror...staying.) wow! :o Astina's come in V6. Interesting... -_- -Chris
  10. i use Imation (what's wrong with them Bill? :P ) and they work perfectly fine. I don't have any problems what so ever with them. I burn at max speed using Nero. I usually do CD to CD copy. No skipping or anything with the stock head unit. Maybe you have short circuits occuring within the car, causing the headunit to skip? Does it turn on and off by itself for no reason sometimes? -Chris
  11. Ilivfor6: Excellent work! landing in lift above 7,000rpm!! DAMN! That's gotta be quick...either A) lightning quick changes or B) 1/2 Flat Change. Still that's pretty good. mid 7's is excellent =) and that's with the CAI and Extractors...hmm....the stock stivo...i'm 'guessing' would be low 8's or mid 8's. With the UniChip, you're probably looking at 7 flat and sub seven 0-100. (with ilivfor6 driving...and more practice ;) .not the test driver) YEAH! GO THE STIVO OVER THE ASTRA!!! YEAH!!! :D :D -Chris
  12. Thank You oh so Very Very Much Bruce! For all those who winged about prices...That is WHY YOU should ask the person personally. It's not being secretive or anyting, it's just being Respectful. Think about it from both sides of the fence. Bruce definately has a strong and defined point. Ask, not demand. Things usually work better that way. Just plain simple manners go a long way. :) -Chris
  13. Pecker, To be honest, i've got no idea. Maybe it's got something to do with some people can get it cheaper than others. Thus, they are edited out so that it's fair...or somehow fair in some way... *shrugs* *shrugs* Sometimes when i get quotes for stuff, the supplier says...don't tell anyone else. this is only your price. As with my club...we get club discounts...so i can't really quote somethings either...because it's a club discount. Hope this clarifies/helps. Oh, about the edge...was that sarcasim...or do you really live on the edge? ;) -Chris
  14. i'd like to see this :) hmm...interesting... stock sportivo right? -Chris
  15. why didn't you guys complain when the quotes for the extractors where edited out? and here you are complaining about this? All i can say is...if it's someone elses money...why don't YOU ask them how much it is...either PM them or something. NIKICH: No need to shout. Pecker: Not my money..ask T-Sport for how much he's paid. PM him or just wait for him to post it up on his own accord. Just chill out people... people are getting really edgy on this forum....just relax and take it easy. you're all becoming so demanding and political. <_< -Chris
  16. you will go back to retail? or you won't? :P -Chris
  17. steps of soap box... GROUP HUG!!! :D :D :) -Chris
  18. i originally ordered the part..but ended up not buying it. i'll let Aaron decide as to whether or not he would like to disclose how much he bought it for. anyways..you speak to 'James' there. He's the TRD Import Consultant or something like that..he's got the TRD cataloge..unfortunately..it's in Japanese...so we go by the pictures..heheh...real technical aye? hehe.. He can get you the quickshifter...and so forth...but...from what i've heard....Bruce from NZ is cheaper....like by 10-20 bucks or so...something like that. :D -Chris
  19. Hey All, Anyone have any hints, tips, tricks and suggestions as to how to properly and securely attach the current model shape corolla eyelids. The instructions come in Japanese, and like most of us...i can't read Japanese..so it's pretty useless....the pictures are a little helpful..but i'd rather read it. Should i add more double sided tape in the vacant spaces? are there marks on the headlights that i should take note of whilst installing the eyelids. Are eyelids illegal? i'd rather the stivo look like this.... instead of this... hahaha. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx -Chris
  20. Thank You Bill! B) Xoom: My figures aren't too far out from Bill's......yet no-one seems to believe me? <_< Pecker: Just got the Sportivo off the weigh bridge at work, and in stock trim, with a full tank of gas....the Stivo weighs 1180KG. I had a levin and that only weighed 1111kg. the 154kg of extra weight may the difference between an ascent and a stivo. Even though toyota says the car weights 1224kg....i find that incorrect. -Chris
  21. i think it's going to be impossible to convince you guys how i worked it out. all i can say is...i had a 2002 levin before. factory is 100kw at fly. did an initial dyno (stock) and got 76.0kw at the wheels. which converts to 98.8kw at the fly. (pretty close to what the factory claims) Using the same formula with the stivo (sure..different car...different g/b, different ratios...but...i don't know....the same in some way) hehe...anyways.... that's how i worked out how much the stivo is putting out at the fly. sure....133kw at the fly is hard to swallow...coz it's suppose to be 141kw. but be open minded about this... to put it into perspective....if the car only puts out 103kw at the wheels and the fly is 141kw (claimed) that's a 27% loss from fly to wheels. that is a huge loss for a FWD car. Doesn't anyone understand what i'm trying to say? Or are you all chosing not to believe that the car does not put out 141kw. the 1ZZ-FE corollas are only 1 second slower than us...and we have 41 more kw's than they do.....WHAT THE?????????? RWD vehicles loose around that much from the fly -> drive train -> wheels. let's say our cars only loose 20%. that would equate to 141kw at the fly -> 117.5kw at the wheels. Is there anyone out there putting out over 110kw at the wheels stock? no way! unless of course the dyno is 'tweak' to show that. anyone? doesn't anyone understand? *sigh* it's just reality guys....ah...stuff it. i give up. -Chris
  22. Skitzo: Which company did you get this quote from? Was it a repair or replacement? -Chris
  23. There's a company called Dent Force. They fix dents without having to replace the whole panel...sorta massage the metal. Not too expensive from what i've heard too. -Chris
  24. oz_viking: 141kw is Toyota's claimed max power output at the fly. I'd like to believe it..but..to be honest, i don't believe it. I doubt we'd be making 141kw at the fly. We're lucky if we produce 135kw at the fly. If you ask the people who have dynoed, they will show you the dyno sheets and the average power output is between 101-103kw at the wheels. That converted to flywheels only equates to 132kw at the fly. The 1ZZ-FE figure are way more accurate than the 2ZZ-GE figures. I've owned and dynoed a 1ZZ-FE and it was pretty much spot on. 2ZZ-GE...sigh..another story. We've been duped into believing the car produces 141kw straight from the dealer. <_< <_< Danthuyer: Sorry about sidetracking your topic. :( -Chris
  25. Danthuyer: How come the dyno run was done in 3rd gear? Should be the closest to 1:1 ratio. Either 4th or 5th Gear...hmmm..interesting.... With your 102kw base read out = 132.6kw at the fly With your 108kw CAI read out = 140.4kw at the fly (increase of 7.8kw from base) With your 113kw CAI + Extractors = 146.9kw at fly (increase of 14.3kw from base) Were there any problems with fitting the extractors? No issues at all? Very interested as to how much it'll cost to get a set of extractors too ;) -Chris
