Not sure, could be legit as it has a reserve on it. It's now 8 years old, with aftermarket wheels and an aftermarket stereo. What is it worth? Like anything for sale, it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I miss my old one, I could throw a bid on for old times' sake!

Sounds like it is labouring/pinging - which is not great news for your engine, spark plugs or performance overall. The simple answer here is to stop being dang lazy and drop a gear!! (A more technical answer should follow from someone more knwoedgeable, like SuperDave!)

One of the Melbourne members might be able to help you - but this shift light install gives you the lowdown on how to do most of it. Shift Light INstall/Dash Cluster Removal by TheDefiant1 At the back of the cluster there are two plugs to remove and replace - that's about it!

Tis also why I recommend keeping the stock spare when upgrading to larger rims - less $$$ if in the above situation it saves you but gets buckled in the process. But always keep a set of the stock wheel nuts with the spare too just in case the new ones off your alloys don't fit!

I found this speedo cluster for you on eBay SPORTIVO INSTRUMENT CLUSTER eBay 123R is right - the redline will be tough to reach ;) - but it will still look cool and for all anyone else needs to know, with the bonnet closed, you have Sportivo motor under the hood anyway..... The climate control swap could pose more problems than it's worth - the parts are not easy to find second hand - but it's worth a look There is a front cut on eBay that has the climate control - I emailed him about selling it seperately, but got nowhere

Cheers mate, finally some proper information that i can actually use. Ill go back and get a proper look at the seals and what not. Only issue is that he has after market wheels on it, and the spare in the back is a factory wheel. He said he got the set of 4 after market wheels cheaper because he traded in the 4 original wheels in. Sounds fair enough. Either that or the 4 stockies were scratched and had old tyres and it was easier to get a set of aftermarkets than repair stockies. Some people go mad for the standard wheels - stuufed if I know why - 16's on a Corolla look small, particularly with the standard springs! If you do end up with this car, one point to consider is that the wheel nuts that hold the aftermarket wheels on WILL NOT work with the standard wheel that is the spare. Corolla Sportivo stockies have a different type of nut to aftermarket wheels (I think they call it a shanked nut - straight body rather than flared seat) - I learnt this the hard way when I had a flat on my old 18's, tried to put the stocky on and the wheel nuts were incorrect. The four tyre shops nearby did not carry the wheel nuts - they said toyota was the only place to get the nuts for the stock alloys. This was a lesson I learnt the hard way, so bust him down a few more $$$ as you should get a matching aftermarket wheel to use as your spare so you don't have to carry specific nuts for the stock wheel to have a functional spare. Bargain hard!

Best of luck Mick, I had the same thing happen and was stunned by how much wreckers were stinging me for.... so I boght a DIN sized geneic cupholder off eBay, got the Dremel and the contact adhesive out, cut the back off the pocket and turned it into a cupholder. Any attempt to use normal hinges to repair it is an instant fail. The only wreckers I know of the have regularly got Sportivos is KingWreck in Fairfield - give them a try Good luck!

Changing the tip alone would make an almost ZERO difference to the noise output. Such bu115h1t makes me suspcious of the seller - either he is a liar or has little clue. I'd look at further evidence of panel repairs - panel gaps, mismatched paint on rear bar etc. Without going overboard, pull the spare wheel out and check the wheel well for evidence of damage or water entry - sometimes if a car has had a hit at the rear and isn't repaired properly the panels may look OK BUT not seal openings as well as they used to and have inconsistent gaps, sometimes where it is hard to see (eg: top edge of hatch). Also, pull the tailgate rubber off to see if there is any evidence of repair (overspray, non factory lookiing work) If the seller has nothign to hide he should be OK with this. If he has changed the whole rear baffle (often referred to as axle-back) and not just the tip then yes it would be quieter - but it would also go worse! If everything else looks like it adds up and it is the car you want a professional prepurchase inspection (not NRMA) would be a decent way to go. Maybe find someone on here that has the exact model you are after to come and look at it with you could be another way to reassure yourself that it is a decent example. Best of luck.

I'd hit the Wanted to Buy seciton in Buy & Sell. King Wreck in fairfield often have Sportivos - they could be worth a call (google them). Shoudn't be more than $200 I'd guess?

Being a fan of a bargain, I thought I'd share these finds..... Sportivo instrument cluster ZZe123 Sportivo Instrument Cluster eBay 03 Sportivo 174ks $8250 One of the cheapest I had seen in ages, watched it drop from 9k, and then Another cheap high K 03 Stivo - repaired hail - 9k Intersting to see these dipping under 10k for high k examples (but if you calculate average annual kilometres at 20k per year, 160-180 on an 8 year old car is only a little higher than average) obviously ones with lower kilometres are worth more - still, it has to give 1ZZ owners some food for thought....... and finally, a reminder of what our cars looked liek before the mods began Sportivo Brochure!

LOL...and here I was thinking that the way to solve a loss in power was to apply stickers! ========================================================================================== On a serious note, I support the other suggestions aside from powerband, perhaps consider the possibility that you have collapsed baffles in exhaust/cat converter? Any difference in exhaust sound?
