  1. Have a look at http://www.tte.de/cm_auris_E15.htm for TTE's options on the new Corolla
  2. Just had a look on the Toyota website it appears that there is no sports suspension (or even sports springs option :o ). Has anyone heard/read anything different?
  3. Neal Bates was in the midst of getting rights to onsell TTE parts in AUS a long time ago. Not sure what ever happened though ? He got the rights and they do sell TTE parts though not often by the sound of things
  4. I'll should be testing one tomorrow (the dealer apparently received stock today I'll let you know my thoughts after that
  5. It'll come... its got to, its hot hatch craze of the centry even honda is bringing the type r Well there is all the talk that TRD are going to be doing a Corolla next year (why it should take six months to hot up an international car is a bit beyond me, maybe there trying to put an Aurion engine into it, Toyota Aust seems to be putting it into everything else)
  6. What;s the difference between the SX and the ZR?
  7. I am quite surprised that this much is lost on a FWD, given that RWD also loses about 30% from engine to wheels. Street Machine (hey I owned a Falcon at the time) did a test on three falcons straight out of the showroom and found the they were losing 30% based on the flywheel figure published by the factory and from a few other people I have spoken to who have done their mods in a systematic way (ie. used a dyno for baseline and after each change) 30% is about right for RWD. Dynos give different readings depending on air temperature, humidity and fuel, the only way to tell if your mod makes a difference is to do a run without the mod and then a run with asap afterwards (though this is not always practical)
  8. Does anyone have an at the wheels figure for a stock Sportivo?
  9. I contacted TTE about this a month ago unfortunately there is no kit that they sell (www.tte.de for the specs and info). I have also contacted Toyota UK, no luck there
  10. Toyota Motorsport make a 19x8 for the Camry and an 03 wearing these does not look out of place (see www.tte.de)
  11. Has anyone installed TTE (or Toyota Motorsport as they are sometimes known) parts on their Corolla? A friend was thinking of upgrading the steering wheel on his 06 Ascent and was considering using the TTE wheel as an option to the Levin wheel. Any thoughts?
  12. I had a similar problem of ABS engaging on my 05 Camry (I know not the same car but could be a similar cause). At the same time as I braked a blinker also came on steady (not blinking - I can't remember whether it was right or left) and my reverse sensors gave the "oh #$@% your about to hit" sound. Apparently there was a loose connector and it was a relatively simple fix for the dealer. It could be as things heat up after a spirited drive that something is coming loose
  13. No it's not.................................................................................................................................................. but then Audis which are FWD or AWD (depending on model) are regularly compared with Mercedes and/or BMW both RWD and are seen by most to be direct rivals in certain classes (eg A4, C-class and 3-series) The TRD Aurion will be compared with the FPV and HSV items whether we or Toyota like it or not for the simple facts that i) it's a large car ii) it's from a the company's performance arm iii) it's made in Australia sorry to burst your bubble but its NOT AWD and it IS FWD so at best it will be an alternative to FPV/HSV not a replacement... Northy No bubbles burst here. Doug12 was actually asking if the FPV Typhoon was FWD not the Aurion
  14. Come on people lets not rubbish the TRD Aurion we at least want TRD to stay around long enough to release a TRD Corolla and who knows perhaps bring in the next generation Supra or a TRD Celica

  16. The Typhoon from FPV is a Turbo six,
  17. 235kW is not to be sneezed at after all the current 911 only puts out 239kW and weighs only 100kg or so less than an Aurion and look how it performs. Have a look at what power gets through to the wheels. I haven't seen the figures for front wheel drive but I know a mid 80's Porsche rear engine rwd (so not too dissimilar to front engine front wheel drive) only loses 10-15% so 235kW at engine would be 199-211kW at the wheels where as a front engine RWD loses approx. 30% (again this figure is a little old - mid 90's engineering) so to have 200kW at the wheels would need 285Kw at the engine. So what the TRD gets down to the asphalt may not be too far from the HSV and FPV. Anyone with more accurate %'s feel free to correct me, and yes I know that the % for power loss is not an exact science and open to much debate but short of doing a rolling dyno and then ripping the engine out and bench testing it, it is a fair indication

    Camry Solara

Does anyone know of any Solaras (Camry Coupes) being imported into Australia and converted to RHD? I have had a look on most of the 'cars for sale' websites and found none, I was just curious had this been done or not some of the early 2000's models were not too bad in appearance
  19. Contacted Toyota Motorsport in Germany who made the Corolla Compressor (Supercharged Sportivo) for the UK unfortunately they do not offer the supercharger as a kit :(
  20. Penrith Toyota used to supply the TRD supercharger from the USA. When I spoke to them about this (I saw it on their wesite and thought WOOHOO) they said that there was one small trap for young players and that the unit was designed for LHD and unfortunately RHD cars needed a bit more modification to install it. They took the decision to discontinue supplying it.
  21. Has anyone installed the foglights / drivinglights into a Gen 5.5 Camry (one that did not come with the lights originally)? I am considering doing it (as the fog is starting to get bad in our area rather than just to look good) but the supply and install price for the OEM items I have had from a few dealers is horrendous. I have also been told that the cars with out the lights had a different loom to those with and as such seperate wiring is required, I find this a bit hard to believe as there were only a few models with out the lights and the fusebox even has the actual fuse in place for them. Can anyone shed some light on this? [No pun intended]
  22. How much did they charge you for the Corolla kit?? I tried to get a kit for my 05 Camry and the price was horrendous one dealer told me 1,100 installed and then when I said ok they said 2,500 needless to say I haven't bothered yet, but will have to do something as the fogs are starting to get serious now
  23. Has anyone either done this or heard anything of this being done? I know in the US one can buy a kit to put a 351 (5.8L V8 for the younger ones) into a Focus (and make it RWD at the same time). Wondering if there was anything like this for the Corolla.
  24. Love the rear end of your Sportivo, it looks brilliant B)
