  1. Hi Guys, Recently I have experienced some weird clunking (springs disengaged) sound when: 1. I turn the car (either left or right) slowly (in multi level car park speed) 2. Also when the steering wheel is returning back to straight position. So, there will be 1 sound when turn and the second when straightening back It happen few weeks ago and then it disappeared But now it getting obvious everytime, especially when I park the car (doing a 90 degree park) On the other hand, theres no noise when I turn the car at normal speed or turning hard in corners I realised that I have recently hit a few holes on the street (crap surface) so I dont know what it happened. Just want some ideas before i take it to my mechanice for inspection
  2. I asked a place donellans b4 and they said they were doing the tein super street for around 2050 installed. But only after i have ordered my D2 coil overs, which cost me $1400 installed. I have very happy with the D2s, and the street version is quite comfortable. Obviously not as comfortable as koni yellows, but its good enough.
  3. I totally agree, for ppl like me I will prefer the supercharge kit as first thing, I do not know an experienced engineer can take this project. Second I do not know how much will it cost you for installation and time for custom turbo. Third, I m not aiming to get max power. However, turbos kits are great and if some manufacturer has a bolt on turbo kit as a package, I dont mind going for it. E.g if AVO or APS has kits like WRX or APR likeaudis and VWs kits. I am this kind of ppl will go for that, cos you know there are many running on the road, and tested as well.
  4. Hi guys, Just want to make a comment. The blitz kit is a bolt on kit. At the moment, I do not know anyone is experienced enough to do a turbo kit in melb. The Blitz kit will provide a peace of mind for ametuers who want increase of power, but not at the extreme. I believe that zoom's car is very quick but I will not be a person that can handle this much power and drive all that power all day! Zoom, Will this much amount of power, will it benefit on the track. I personally believe the balance of power, handling, driver skills, type of track and braking is all in one. I know at ppl who drives fwd cars (like civics, integras can match pace with fast big turbo cars at winton) cos winton is focused on small quick corners, and not many long striaghts) If you talk about drag race on straight, no doubt your car can kill any supercharge cars. I am not baised on any side, just I think there are always pros and cons on either getting supercharge or turbos, it realli depends on your driving style, skills and needs.
  5. Hi Sugizo, If you r from Hong Kong, just get the Sept 2007 issue of option fans. They are probably up to Oct issue by now, but you should be able to get one copy over there. And also, can you make some enquiries about it? Whether it will create any issues with the ZZE123 here in Aus? in terms of fitting? i m from hk but i m in syd i think u know better then me that magazines from hk are almost eactly 6x the original hk price.. anyway, i'm just a novice when it comes to car but any mods on a stock engine will lessen the life of it because it may not be able to tolerate the the icnrease in power..but dont quote me on it.. i have a friend of a friend who installed turbo killed the car in 6months...so i guess there are always risks..u can decide if its really worth it Thats why you should get the blitz supercharger, it a lot milder tune than turbos, and thus Blitz has spent lots of money developingthe kits and ensure that the components are strong enough. The magazine mentioned that they include a clutch sensor, new timing belt, and other different components to ensure the increase of power. I think that ppl who are going for turbos they have to know what they are doing (cos they are custom kit, you buy bits and pieces everywhere). Although supercharge kit is not as powerful as turbo kit, they are much secure and less risk. I saw the video, it doesnt mention much about whats in the kit. Buy the magazine, and you might be tempted to get the kit.
  6. The magazine that I had shows you need to cut some parts of the front reinforcement bar. But the car was a toyota fielder (wagon). So dont assume a striaight blot on, cos you need to modify certain parts.
  7. True, initially i budgeted around $3500 but ended up going for better stuff. If I did the install myself i would be only saving $300-400 bucks, which I dont have time now as I work full time
  8. All up cost me $4575, including door deadening, wiring, $300 bucks installation from tower audio in Melb. I got the speakers and amps on a special sale from them. Headunit $1180 (ebay) Speakers $900 Amps $980 Deadening $300 Installation/wiring $300 Sub box $300 (tune for this sub) Type r sub (old form previous car) capacitor $95 Alpine Bluetooth $280 Ipopd Video $150 second hand
  9. and check out my blitz sonic power, I think its first of its kind in melb for corollas.!!
  10. Hi Guys, Can you make it either this sunday or next sunday cos on sat I have work at nite so it might not be an interesting day(very hard for me go kart and work after that). Otherwise if you make it 2 weeks after I will take that day off work and join. Cos I really want to join in and meet u guys. oor else we should meet one late night and cruize around and have supper at chapel also. (check out some chicks at nite@!!!) Mariox knew, cos when i showed last time, I only saw him alone.!
  11. As for that wkend, I can only make it on sunday daytime. As for this coming wkend, I can make it late fri nite (After 11:30 ish) or late sat nite after work. Or else I can come out all day sunday!! I will take my magazine out along and show you guys!
  12. Like the place garage cafe? and then we can go to albert park and chapel street for supper? I m too old for speeding now!
  13. Hey Mikey, Although I like car audio, I am not into sound competition level. Just something we can exchange ideas on. I believe after spending more than 4k on audio is sufficient for me, i wont be going more than that.
  14. The magazine talks about the goodies are from GPmotor www.gpmotor.com.hk But I cant find any blitz product on the website. But you can also ring and tell them you found this on the Option Fans Sept 2007 edition - Corolla Fielder Blitz supercharge kit.
  15. I agree, it really depends on the driver driving style - speed, how agressive the driver is, fast in slow out or slow in and fast out. In order to decide which parts you need to buy as different parts will change the overall behaviour. Zoom is correct, dont listen to one person as everybody drives differently. On my previous Pulsar SSS (remember the SSS had multilink rear suspension, so a rear sway bar will not have much effect than corolla), I had kings springs and semi slicks at philip lsland track, I found the shocks were too weak for the tires and my cornering was difficult (becos the tyres are gripping the track but the shocks couldnt handle it) so I didnt achieved much. Later I got a set of konis and the effect is more than double. now with my corolla, I got a set of D2's, cornering has improved a lot, but since I am still wearing the standard turanza tyres, I found it difficult in acheiving the speed I want to as I feel the tyres is sliding on the road. ESPECIALLY IN WET!!! If I am you, try to do one thing at a time, and you can see the difference you gain! Obviously base on the budget you have also. Although the coilover is the most expensive item, dont forget you can set the soft and hardness so you can tune it base on your needs.
  16. From the look of your pic, the screen res looks good. Thats y i ve this alpine, its W202E, a replacement of W200E, new 2007 model.
  17. Hey, Its joeyee here. Looks like your headunit is sticking out a bit. Have you tried to push it on further, you might need to cut some air con vents! its the same here for my alpine unit, not with mine its just a little bit. I guess it s the space we have here.
  18. I have recently installed my audio system. I bought everything from tower audio in melb except the 2 din headunit. The guys were happy to installed it and the unit is 2 din DVD and fits perfectly inside the space. I bought the headunit from Ebay and only cost me $1100 as opposed to $1400 cheapest from JB. $1699 RRP Alpine DVD units seems to charge almost 50% more than Hong Kong and China. I had no problems buying from Ebay, you just make sure who you buy from. The guy I bought was happy to provide his mobile also. The alpine units provide motorised interface so you can tilt it any angle you want. I have my ipod video attached and bought an original Alpine Bluetooth module, which sync my mobile phone book! The reception is clear and precise
  19. Guys, why dont we get mariox champion the meet. cos i a new to the forum. I also have a few topics i want to discuss also as I have previously installed: - Car audio gear - My new Blitz sonic power - Blitz supercharge kit (The magazine i bought n- I can take that with me and show you guys the pictures)
  20. I read the spec for this blitz sonic filter that the enclosed metal is designer to resist heat from outer surface. Thats why this filter cost a fortune. hmmm some ppl might argue the TRD CAI is the best solution, may be. But I seem to go for something different from the rest. And also this Blitz one looks bloody awesome!
