  1. Although endless brake pads are quite good, they do eat up the rotors very quickly. Not sure for corolla models.
  2. Looks like i gonna miss it, i'll be in Manchaster for work
  3. I had a set of D2 coilovers now, on average the quality isnt good, but I have one of the best set in aus. y? cos i didnt buy it from the group guy. ppl who went with the group buy got the D2s with track spring rate with street shocks setup. Lucky mine is 5kg 7kg so it is very comfortable and my never had any issues with the clinging noise anymore. If u come around a second hand one, dont buy them unless u try them first. Cos half of ppl who went with the D2 group had no idea, and i think the previous owner of d2, who sold the business, was not honest too personally tein is the super wagon version, so it was for the toyota fielder , not runx. Best will be getting either koni's kings springs or cusco if u are willing to pay. However, do u know that half of these jap brand they only assemble the parts now, half of the original equipment are made in taiwan. bc went bankrupt and sold it to aai in taiwan, so now most bc stuff r made in taiwan, but what the hack you pay what u get for. Also my d2 is in gd nick cos i been looking after it, i drive carefully in the street avoiding pot holes. i know some ppl dont and end up damaging their coilovers and they dont know.
  4. I m interested if someone can give me a lift down. I have a place to stay back home so thats not a problem.
  5. well, becos they make more margins by selling u the cat back than spending lot of time port the headers.
  6. From what I have in car now, CES does a gd job with the ported headers. From my experience working at GM Holden b4, all stock headers comes with rough edges and unconsistent flow, due to manufacturer cost. They cost around within $10 US to manufacturer for mass production. The only way to get a smooth flow you need to machine to the precise smoothness to allow that, cars like BMW M3, HSV clubsport etc... when they said the exhaust is upgraded to get more power, mainly its the headers are doing the job (I know this from the HSV engineers).... So getting ported header is definitely a big gain, how much gain, well it depends on the workmanship. Since CES has done many the ported sportivo headers, I will go for them even they are a bit expensive. On the other hand, does the catback gained any performance? correct me, but I personally think not,. I think the best gain is get the ported headers from CES and keep the stock exhaust. I think I might need a bit of tuning to gain my performance in the catback install. Although I personally dont believe the cat back will gain any performance, CES cat back I am happy cos they provide a sound tone without causing grieve in loudness. I personally dont think there is much gain can be done on NA sportivo as compared to my previous car, may be i am making a big statement. Hmm maybe Bill also agree the only way is probably going to Turbo if you want any huge gain for sportivo. Reason I say that is I used to have a Pulsar SSS N15, I was able to have get my SSS matching any Integra type R after modifications (non-turbo, and cheaper and easier mod to find than sportivo), consider the stock SSS is a lot slower car to start with. I think one of the reason can be the kerb weight of the SSS I had is under 1100kg while the sportivo is a lot heavier.
  7. Hmm I try to make it this time. Going to service my car this sat, so my car is legal again.
  8. I'll try to get there for the long wkend. Guys from melb, my car is in sydney atm, so i might be flying back to melb to attend if I can. For those who still remember my car, i might not drive down this time.
  9. For my opinion, paying oover 3.5 k for a set of cusco is not worth the money, for my budget. I agree that the cusco can be superior over other srpings and damper kits, does the cusco provide 2 times better than the shock and spring kit? For ppl with lots of money, yeap they can buy anything they want, but I personally think that i only buy the product for what is worth for, if the cusco was around $800-2k of course its a bargain over the koni and eibachs, but not double the price. especially with car mod, yonce you reach a price range, the more money to spend the less performance gain you get I agree that the overall performance can be gained by spending on tyres, sway bars with the suspension too. YIf you stick with crappy tires and a cusco, it is more likely when you lose traction of the tires, it lost of traction will come much quicker and harder for drivers to response. Also, if the car is only used for street use, I think the koni yellows and eibach springs will also provide comfort over the cusco, no matter which coil over kit you buy. as they end to have softer spring rate. Finally, its all depends on the drivers skills to be able to feel the difference with 2 shockers, if the driver isnt gd, he or she wont able to maximise the performance, then its not worth it.
