  1. Here are the final details for the All Toyota Day: Date: Sunday, 10 June, 2007 (this Sunday!) Time: 9:30 for a 10 am start ... the day should finish 1:30-2:00 pm RSVP: Just turn up on the day ... you'll be directed to a display spot by organisers Other stuff: Medallions: as this is the 10th ATD, the organisers (Rising Sun Register) will be giving a celebratory medallion to all vehicles displayed Nav Run/Cruise: The Toyota Car Club will be hosting its first Nav Run of the year, as advised above, to start at the completion of the ATD, but those who wish can cruise to the destination rather than work for it! I know a lot of the QLD guys and gals will be heading to Sydney, but it'd be great to see as many of you as possible on Sunday ... if you've nothing else on, trundle down and talk Toyota with hundreds of like-minded people! :-)
  2. To all the Queensland guys heading down, I wish I could tag along, but have a safe and enjoyable weekend. Oh, and don't give the southerners an inferiority complex ... we still want to be able to chat with them next week! Looking forward to seeing the pics/video/TROPHIES!
  3. An invite to all QLD members to a Tech Night with the Toyota Car Club at Fulcrums Suspension at Moorooka. This will be a great opportunity to have a good look at a suspension shop and for technical no-nothings like me to ask a host of silly questions. Its on Tuesday, 24 April at 7pm at Fulcrum Suspensions, 28-36 Evesham Street, Moorooka, and best of all, its totally free! If you'd like to attend, please reply to this message before Friday 20 April so I can advise of numbers attending. Cheers.
  4. Just a quick message to let the QLD members know that the All Toyota Day is on again this year, on 10 June 2007. Last year this event was held in conjunction with the All Japanese Day, but its back as a stand-alone event. Only date and venue - Toyota QLD Headquarters at Acacia Ridge - have been advised as yet, but if you're in the area that weekend, jot this one down in your diaries. I'll update you as more info comes to hand. Cheers.
  5. I was hoping to join the QLD'ers on this trip, but unfortunately I can't make it. Between working on the 9th, and the All Toyota Day on the 10th (see separate post), I'll be flat out here! :P
  6. Thanks for your help, guys. Have PM'd kcorro to see if he can help me with what I need. :)
  7. I've searched under just about every key word I can think of, but I can't find a previous thread that I'm looking for. It was a while back now, and it was a thread about JDM badges that were available, and included a big picture showing a heap of different badges from all manner of JDM Toyota's. I searched under "JDM", "badge" and "emblem", but I just can't see it anywhere. If someone can direct me to that thread, I'd very much appreciate it! Cheers!
  8. Lovely car, but it brings back memories of the wagon that I had to sell ... ah, what could have been! :P
  9. I'll be running past the loop tonight, see what's doin'.
  10. I was lucky enough to watch the whole thing from the comfort of the covered grandstand at Hell Corner. As a Lowndesy fan, from the moment he stepped into Brocky's 72 Torana :( to the moment he took hold of the Peter Brock Trophy , it was one hell of a day to remember. An interesting observation, though ... when a Ford came to grief, the Holden guys went nuts, which I understand. When a Holden came to grief, the Ford guys went nuts ... this, too, I understand. But when Skaifey came to grief, EVERYBODY went nuts! Great to see another manufacturer involved in Chrysler ... the "Skaifety" Car did so many laps, it was looking good for a podium finish! Anyway, its only another 11 months until my second 1000 ... can hardly wait!
  11. That's OK, I understand that when someone loans you their pride and joy (regardless of the model or general condition), they are to be looked after! You mean you've put a deposit on the Swift Sport that you love so much?
  12. Yeah, I'm cool, a bit shaken up initially, but otherwise ok. Mrs Buddha has a bit of a sore shoulder and a couple of scratches from her window smashing, but otherwise she is also ok. Thanks for the concern, though! :) Um, not sure if "classic" is the right word to describe the old car, but RIP indeed! I have found a replacement, unfortunately in the context of this forum, its not a Toyota, but I felt that given my ample ... how should I put this ... um ... let's call it "girth" ... I decided that I wanted something bigger this time and have found myself a pretty reasonable 1995 Falcon for $2500. I'll still hang with the Brissie members (if they'll have me), but I guess I'll have to park further away than the "non-Rolla" section at the Loop! :P
  13. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but Toyota have already confirmed that they won't be importing the new Corolla/Fielder wagon ... for the first time in a long time, Toyota will have no conventional wagon on sale in Australia. Damn shame, if you ask me. :(
  14. Sorry I haven't been out in recent weeks, guys, mainly due to a new maths equation I learnt: Celica + LandCruiser = Dead Celica So I'm currently ferretting around at the bottom end of the market trying to find a suitable replacement ... I'll be out again just as soon as I'm back on my wheels! :P
  15. Mentioned that in another post, couldn't agree more.... * Raises hand * I, too, am rather chuffed with the Peter and the boys at Bob Jane Chermside, been of great help on numerous tyre purchases over the years.
  16. Unfortunately, the Blue Streak of Misery won't be present this evening, as a few friends and I have a Tarago packed and waiting for a wee trip down to Bathurst to watch the Supercabs :) and pay our respects to Brocky :( . We don't expect to break any speed records, but we'll be giving the bus all we've got! ;)
  17. Each to their own, I guess, but I like the hatch. My issues with the new car are the boring-as styling of the new sedan, and the fact that Toyota won't be bringing the new wagon into Australia. That means that Toyota will no longer sell a conventional station wagon, and the dealers are already hurting after they discontinued the Camry wagon. Someone needs to tell Toyota that a great deal of wagon buyers want something that looks good and is reasonably inexpensive to run ... i.e. the RAV4, Kluger and LandCruiser are not attractive to many people. Although existing wagon owners should see their resale value stay pretty good once it goes off the market.
  18. Hey, is it true that when Corey has a birthday, he forgoes the candles and blows conrods out instead? :D Best wishes, mate!
  19. I've never met Brocky, but I have had the immense pleasure of watching many of his racing exploits, and the even greater pleasure of being passengered as a teenager in my uncle's VK SS HDT Group 3 at rather more than sedate speeds. Although I prefer Toyota's to own, and Falcons on the track, Brock will always be revered by this particular revhead. RIP indeed, Brocky, you'll be missed by many ... :(
  20. I'll be stopping by so you can all have a giggle at the Silly Car again! :)
  21. Not entirely sure what the last couple of posts are about, but I am sure that I shall be out and about with the Silly Car tomorrow evening :D
  22. It looks like brekkie will be safe, unfortunately ... a mate of mine (from the country) has let me know that he needs to be shown around the city for an appointment on Saturday, so I won't be able to make the Dyno day. :( Looking forward to seeing pics and hearing all about it, though!
  23. With me, Russ, Bren & Kyle there.... I doubt it very much :P and me too :D GET IN MY BELLY!!! And I didn't get my "physique" by being picky with my food, let me tell ya! :D
  24. I think that not running the Celica on the dyno is best for all ... apparently they're only good for around 45kW at the wheels, in good tune ... mine would barely move the rollers! :P
  25. No its not, if you're a Webber fan, anyway! Red Bull have a lot of money and even more talk, but nothing to show for it. I can't believe that Webber has settled for them so early in the piece, with at least one spot each at both McLaren and Renault to be decided. Oh well, at least Toyota F1 are trying to move up the grid, not deliberately dropping into mediocrity!
