  1. I went to Western Toyota in Guildford. They fixed it for me and there's no problem with it now.
  2. OK...I think there is still a problem with surging or hesitation. I have reset the ECU per Danthuyer's advice. I don;t know what's wrong with it. did u guys get unichip or Emanage to tune the air:fuel ratios? I got a feeling it's to do with the sensor not reading the correct air flow. I did install it correctly with only the air flow sensor attatched to the pipe. Did u also have to attatch the connector that opens up the flap from the air box as well? I don;t know what to do now and I need help please!!! :o :o
  3. i just done a few mods on my car eg: Lowerred, wheels and CAI. i was wondering do u guys advise ur insurance company about the mods especially the CAI. Do u think I should tell them? I know lowerring and wheels shouldn;t be a problem but I'm just worried about the CAI. They may not insure me. Also doesn;t anyone know which company will insure if u have CAI? Thanks
  4. They are actually $210 for the CAI itself. I tried Danthuyer's method of resetting the ECU. I think it worked. Just have to wait till tomorrow to see if the car is still running OK. :D Thanks for the tips.
  5. No probs mate. I know how frustrating it can be. I was in the same shoes where my service center wouldn;t even look at the problem coz they think I was thrashing the car. I rang Jenny and spoke to her one time and then followed it by an email. She got it all sorted out with an email sent to me to tell me what to do. She's not too bad. Really helpful with my issues. Come to think of it I was meant to write a formal complaint to her about my old service center. They were hopeless. Anyway hope it gets fixed once and for all. :D
  6. Yeah that's right. Shift Performance Shop 4/175 Hume Highway Lansvale. ph: (02)97289654. Talk to either Anthony or Sam. They treat u well. Thanks for the advice guys. I will try that and see how it goes. We did disconnect the battery when installing the CAI and it took about 30 mins. But when we connected it back up again I did not let it idle for 15 - 30 mins. Just took off and drove it hard. I will try that when I get time. disconnect battery for 30 mins and reconnect. Then Let it idle for 15 - 30 mins. All up it would take 1 hour. I don't think I have the patience. Thanks again for the feedback. Appreciate it!
  7. I just got my CAI installed and I just can't get this grin off my face. :D . It is just awesome! It feels like the car is much lighter and it pulls effortlessly. Once it hits lift it just screams. Loving it! The only slight problem is that when it's not warmed up properly it hesitates under acceleration, like it doesn't wanna go. I know it happens even when it is stock but the hesitation is much more noticable. Is this because of the airflow sensor not reading properly? Any one who has a CAI installed experience this?
  8. OK...Maybe the guys in ur state can tell u which dealer to go to get it done. I have got mine adjusted and as I said it is perfect now. The email that I got from Jenny Stewart after numerous complaints from most of us did specify that it does need to be adjusted. If they do not think it is the clutch pedal then I suggest u write an email to Jenny and state which dealer is not willing to do this for u. Hope she'll get things sorted for u. Jenny.Stewart@toyota.com.au For others who want to see the email that I got from her, here it is again: Thank you for your recent email outlining the ongoing issues with your Corolla Sportivo. Toyota Australia has investigated reports of gear shift feel/baulking during high rpm gear change on Corolla Sportivo. Our investigations have not identified any design or assembly faults with the clutch or related components. However, the clutch pedal adjustment was found to be outside specification in some cases and has contributed to the reported gear shift condition. Please arrange inspection of the clutch pedal adjustment by your Warren Toyota as soon as convenient. We thank you for bringing your personal concerns to our attention and giving us the opportunity to respond. Yours sincerely, TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION AUSTRALIA LIMITED Jenny Stewart CUSTOMER RELATIONS CENTRE MANAGER
  9. For the Scorse, they only have them in either silver or gun metal. I chose the gun metal. I was hoping they had black by they don;t come in black.
  10. I went to Budget Wheels and Tyres in Campbelltown, Sydney. 1/63 Blaxland Road Campbelltown. ph: 46277866 The springs cost me $300 fitted.
  11. Thanks guys. I know it does look pretty much the same as the stock rims but I liked the style of the stockies. I upgraded to these coz its bigger and gives lower profile tyres. Wheels are Lenso Scorse 17 x 7. Tyres are Toyo 205/40. Lowerred with Pedders springs. I was wanting King Springs but his supplier didn't have any in stock. Had to wait a week. The ride is not too bad. I wouldn't know if it is good or not without sitting in someone else's lowerred Corolla and compare. Overall I'm pretty happy. Got a really good deal too. :D
  12. I just got myself new set of wheels. Also lowerred at the same time. What u guys think?

  19. Just went to Shift performance today. The Simota CAI kit was $200 including install. They quoted me the wrong price before ($150 was for the earlier Corollas). Comes with its own pod filter. It is different from the TRD one. The end of the pipe goes down to the front somewhere underneath and behind the headlight where the POD filter sits. The filter is a smaller one as well so it can fit underneath. At this position it will suck in colder air. I put an order on it and will be getting it on Friday. :D We'll see how it goes.
  20. Wouldn't you get the same sort of effect if u install any CAI kit. Don't they all do the same job? You'll still get the performance and the sucking noise. This CAI is $300 cheaper and it's from Simota. Not sure if they're any good but I'm thinking it would do the same job. It just doesn;t look as good as the TRD one. Correct me if I'm wrong. :)
  21. Same with mine. I had the recall done but there is no sticker. I think only some here have had the sticker stuck on the inside of the door. Not all service centers know that they needed to do that or if it was compulsory.
  22. I found this CAI kit at Shift Performance in Lansvale. I'm not sure what the address is but it's on the Hume Highway on top of a motorbike store (if that helps).
  23. I found a place in Sydney who sells CAI kit for $150. I was wondering if they are any good as they are exactly the same pipe and shape as the TRD one. Would there be any difference in the two with performance? I'm thinking it shouldn't make a difference as they both should do the same job. Please correct me if I'm wrong. is there anything that I should look out for? Also with the air filter I'm looking to go Apexi Pod filter. Is that a good choice? It's $160. Does that sound right or can I get it elsewhere for cheaper? Another thing I wanna ask is can we just attatch the Apexi pod filter to the current air box without the CAI kit or do we need get the CAI kit. Thanks for the advice. :)
  24. That's exactly how mine is. It's all the way at the top and I find it hard to get use to. i don;t like the feeling but it's better than not being able to shift. :D
  25. That is sooo nice man. I love it. One thing I noticed though it's got the plastic stripes on the side of the doors. On the 04 models they don;t have those stripes. Is this because it's different for the 05 model or did u put those on urself?
