  1. Talk about tolerance...I've only driven my car for 2.5 months out of the 6 months since I purchased my Stivo. The rest of the time it's in bloody service department getting fixed up and checked.
  2. Yep. I work at Chatswood. I always park at the church car park near Volvo Dealer. My plates start with MPR (Black Stivo). I always see SRR's car around help street and near the church. Gimme a yell if u see me. Cheers
  3. I'm also having weird noises from teh engine. knocking and ticking noises. I listened to another Stivo in the garage at Toyota and it had the same noises. I guess it's all the same. The engine is noisy with all the Stivos. With the steering problem it's only with the early 2003 models. Those who bought their car before May 2003 should have got a letter to have their cars taken back to adjust the steering column.
  4. Anyone still having problems with vibrations and rattles in the dash/CD deck area? Since Toyota replaced the gear selector cable about 4 months ago the problem came back again. Just got the car back today from Toyota and was told that they can't do anyting about it at the moment as they are waiting for a response from Toyota Australia on a proper and permanent fix. Changing the gear selector cable is not a fix, so anyone who is getting that problem and Toyota says to replace the gear selector cable, tell them that it won;t fix it. <_< Right now I'll just have to wait till they come up with a proper fix which I really doubt they will. I will call them in another month. Just letting u guys know. Cheers ;)
  5. I have the same problem too. Toyota said that it is a big ask to shift at 8000RPM. he said that it is not under normal driving conditions and that it was not designed to shift at that high revs. Just have to wait and see if others have any success with Toyota in regards this this problem. I don;t think i can get anywhere with these guys.
  6. It's normal because it is a CHARACTERISTIC of the Stivo....u know...the same old Bullsh*t.
  7. I get exactly the same problem with the ticking noise. There is a ticking noise under the car when idling..sounds like 2 pices of metal hitting each other. The other ticking noise is coming from the engine. when I;m sitting in the car i can hear it coming from the left side. I've taken it to Toyota nad they say it's normal. Also when I accelerate I can hear a sizzling noise. You can only hear it when accelearting. Does anyone else hear this?
  8. What do u guys think about Falkin tyres? They are pretty cheap and they perform quite well. I was thinking of getting them when i need to change tyres...(I'm a cheap As*) :D
  9. Does anyone have problems withthe steering reach? It seems like this car is designed for people with long arms. I have to sit almost 90 degrees to get a comfortable grip. :(
  10. Black Stivo in Liverpool/Fairfield area in Sydney.
  11. I got an upgrade for my Stivo including the auto window up feature. It was a nightmare trying to wire it up. The guy who did it had so much trouble doing it because it was his first time wiring up the auto window feature for the Stivo. It took him a few days to figure it out and we were up til late at night figuring it out. The guy actually came around to my place to do it. What he had to do was play around with the module (circuit board) for the driver's side window. All the other windows worked except for the driver's side. In the end it worked but after a few days the windows didn't go up anymore. He totally F***** it up!!! Now it's at the service center waiting for it to be fixed along with the paint job that I've been waiting to get fixed for ages now. I haven't had my Stivo for at least 2 out of the 4 months since I bought it! If any of u thinking about getting the auto window function....TRUST ME....don;t do it! Cheers! ;)
  12. It looks like they're shooting a commercial for the release of the new corolla.... :D
  13. Nicely said Zeerolla! All you Stivo pissers should go and test drive one like I did. I use to own an SX corolla and made the change to the Stivo. You guys haven't even driven one so don't diss the Stivo! U guys shouldn't be coming in here and giving us S**T for owning a Stivo. Hell we don;t go and diss ur cars saying how ***** old it is and ****! Instead the group of guys in here love to see other people's cars and admire the work done and I would say VERY IMPRESSIVE to all the mods done on ur 4age! U guys should take it easy on the comments and remember that we all drive a corolla whether its a new one or old one. Please don;t diss other people's cars...OK! ;)
  14. Look Guys...CHIIILLL!!! B) Both the 4age and the 2zze engines are great engines but runs on totally different technologies. I use to own a corolla SX 4age engine before I sold it and got the Sportivo. I loved the SX but if u were to put 2 stockies 4age and the 2zze together, there is no doubt that the 2zze will woop the 4age from here back to Japan. If ur 4age is modded, then yeah it will beat the Stivo. I've seen them run 6 seconds in 1/4 mile. However who says that the Stivo can't be modded too!!! You mod urs and I mod mine and we see who will win!!! :P :D Seriously....u can't compare the 2 engines.
  15. xtigerx: what the hell are u doing mate! Ur not treating her very well are u???? :P How much u offering for the car?? :D
  16. I also work at Chatswood and head up and down Delhi and Fullers Road. That car wasn't mine though. My plates start with MPR. I saw a white Stivo the other day at Chatswood. Looked pretty nice with about 2 inch drop.
  17. Does anyone know if u will be coverred by insurance if u have illegal tint and U get into an accident in daylight which u can see clearly. I know that they won't cover u at night because ur vision becomes impaired with really dark tints. What do u guys think???
  18. Also be aware that insurance companies may not insure u if u get in an accident for having illegal tint... LIKE MINE!!! :P :D
  19. I got my tints done at Solace in Lansvale for $300. It's 20% tint, not mirror. Pretty dark.
  20. I would recommend to change the oil. I had to pay $60 to change it. the reason for this is because when the engine is being run in, u'll find metal shavings within the oil when the pistons gets embedded agianst the walls . U should change the oil if u don;t wanna have these metal pieces in ur engine for a long time. That is what I was told by mechanics. That's my input from my limited shallow knowledge. ;)
  21. I have checked that button as well. It's not that. Mate...that'll be the first thing I checked. Not that Bimbo !!! :)
  22. Rolla Boy: I work in Chatswood and walk past Toyota everyday. I might take my car there and bug u one day to check it out. It doesn't change gears in lift zone. Have u had anyone come to u with that prob? <_< Also my power windows on the driver side won't go up and down anymore. Some people says it needs to be reset and some says the module needs to be changed. What do u think? Thanks :)
  23. I was told by everyone that I just had to let it loosen up a bit. Shouldn't it be about time it's loosen up already??? I am really beginning to get the sh*ts with not being able to land in lift when changing gears. I had a race with a motor bike (don;t know what model) the other day and a commodore (old one) and i was ahead of the motor bike for just a slight second when I had to change gears and didn't go in. i actually cranked it again which really hurts and by then the bike just passed me. It's embarrassing when they hear the crank. They just think ur a crap driver. I think I will be taking it back and getting it checked out. I've been having all sorts of probs with my car incuding the windows. They don't go up and down no more. (Just the drivers door only).
  24. I've gone 6000km's with my car, yet I'm still having the same problem from day 1. Can't get it in gear when in lift. When the RPM drops below 6000RPM then it can go in. Then it takes time to hit lift again. This is why I'm always losing when giving others a run. Feel so bad for giving our Stivos a bad name! :(
  25. Hey ZeeRolla, sorry to hear about ur problems dude, but most of us here had similar problems so ur not the only one. :) I had the problem with the rattles with the gear selector cables. Got it changed about 2 months ago and so far no probs. I also get tapping noises under the car. Spoke to the guys at the service department and even took another sportivo for a drive, same noises again. Apparently all sportivos give that noise so if i hear it on another stivo then I would assume they're all the same. Can someone confirm tbis please? Other than that ist's all good! Cheers :D
