  1. I got my clutch pedal adjusted and it shifts perfectly everytime. If u take a look at the letter from Jenny it does state that it needs to be adjusted. Print that letter out and take it to them. It deffinitely did fix the issue.
  2. This is prob off topic but when u guys did ur 20K service did they replace the air filter?
  3. I do agree. I am now taking my car to them too and it is slowly getting all issues fixed. They also replaced my LCD screen without me mentioning any issues with it. How cool is that. I Highly recommend Western Toyota in Guildford too.
  4. Yep. I have already pulled out on the Accord Euro. Financial problems. Let's just say someone didn't pay a Vodafone bill. Things are also looking good with the Stivo. Hope everything gets fixed at this other Toyota service centre. I was soooo close to trading it in. Now that the clutch issue has been fixed I'm beginning to have a bit of fun with her again. :D
  5. Hey guys I got my car back with the adjusted clutch pedal and it seems like it has improved heaps. It slides in very easy now however the clutch feels a lot different. Prob will take me a few weeks to get use to. The friction point is now almost all the way up. I just need to push the clutch pedal 1/4 down and I can change gears. I'm not sure if I like it this way. It makes going from a stand still on a hill harder as u roll back more because of the time to release the clutch up to the friction point. I also tried landing in lift once but it landed at 5800RPM. Much better improvement from before at 54000RPM. No more getting stuck on the gear change. Also for any guys who have the scraping noise (Xoom). They are ordering some sort of cable to fix this problem. They said that the other Toyota service should have picked this up as several Stivo's has this problem. This is coming from Western Toyota in Guildford. No more Warren Toyota!!! I am now waiting for this cable to arrive so that they can replace it. We'll see how it goes. If this prob is fixed then I will have my Stivo all sorted out with no more issues. It's slowly getting there. :)
  6. OK. got my car back yesterday afternoon and they said it is fixed. It was a broken or loose connection to the starter motor. It took them this long to figure that out. They could have checked that the first thing. I hope it was that and nothing else. So now it's been working OK but hope it lasts until my Honda arrives. I've had enough with Toyota. Never will I buy a Toyota again.
  7. I call mine heaps of things. Dumb 4ss, stupid c#nt, F...ing DH, MF, Sh!t head. :P Sorry for the language.
  8. Nah man. I always take my keys with me. Last night it happened again and I was stuck at the petrol station. I had to call my bro to come help me push it. How F#@*ed is that!!! I took it back to Toyota this morning and said I don't want it back till it's fixed. The strange thing is it never happens when Toyota has it in their hands and they keep telling me there is no problem with it. On the other hand another Toyota department have had the problem playing up on them when it was with them. They thought it was the alarm and told me to back to where I got my alarm fitted. Took it back to Warren Toyota and checked the alarm and they said it was OK. The weird thing is that when you push the car and try to jump start it it would work. Even playing around with the gearbox makes it work. But when it doesn't work u can't hear any clicking noise or engine cranking. Battery is OK lights CD etc works. I am stumped. Someone please help me! :(
  9. Eddy, if it makes you feel any better, My car won't start sometimes. Imagine hopping in your car to go to work or out with your gal and the car just won't start. <_< That's what I'm going through right now. Toyota still don't know what's worng with it so I have to take the car back. Nothing they can do about it as the problem does not happen to them when the car is sitting in their yard. I too think I bought a dud but I love my Stivo still. I love everything about it but except all the problems that I get with it. I love the look, style, options, features luxury, performance. If it wasn;t for all the issues I'm having I would be definitely keeping it. It's just a case of bad luck I guess. To be honest with all u guys, I'm so jealous that all your cars are not giving u guys hassle. I just wish my car did not have these problems. And to be honest I think the Stivo looks better than my next car Accord Euro but I am not going back to another Toyota because of the service I get. I've been agonizing over the last few weeks whether to keep it or trade because I love it so much. Weighing out the advantages and disadvantages, It's so frustrating. But if your car is not giving u much hassles except for the minor rattles and vibrations then I think it's still OK. The rattles are a minor thing to me now because of all the other problems I've had and just thank your car that it doesn't have problems like mine. Hope that makes u feel better about ur car. :D Cheers
  10. Thank you for your recent email outlining the ongoing issues with your Corolla Sportivo. For anyone who has the gear shift problem here's a reply from Jenny Stewart. You might wanna adjust the clutch pedal. Not sure if this will work but I will give it a try. Toyota Australia has investigated reports of gear shift feel/baulking during high rpm gear change on Corolla Sportivo. Our investigations have not identified any design or assembly faults with the clutch or related components. However, the clutch pedal adjustment was found to be outside specification in some cases and has contributed to the reported gear shift condition. Please arrange inspection of the clutch pedal adjustment by your Warren Toyota as soon as convenient. We thank you for bringing your personal concerns to our attention and giving us the opportunity to respond. Yours sincerely, TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION AUSTRALIA LIMITED Jenny Stewart CUSTOMER RELATIONS CENTRE MANAGER
  11. The car is currently at the service department. It's been there for 2 days. I took it to another Toyota service before taking it back to where I normally take it. They checked it and they reckon it's the alarm and told me to take it back to where I got my alarm fitted. I have some doubt that it is the alam as it can be push started. So now it's back at the the other Toyota service and they still have't worked out the problem. The problem is not consistent. It happens sometimes and most times is when u leave the car sitting there for a while. I think it could be the solenoid or connecting rods.It also could be the flywheel but wouldn't the engine still crank over?
  12. You can hear a buzzing noise when you turn the key to start it. There is no clicking noise or Engine cranking over. It's just like a humming noise. But when you push the car back and forth trying to push start the car then it would work. It's so weird. It's giving me the sh!ts. Just when I'm about to get my new car. I feel sorry for the next owner of this car. By the way, if anybody wants a pair of black eye lids PM me. I can rip them off (if possible).
  13. Last night my car did not start again. I tried to push start the car but I don;t think this car lets u push start it. After trying to push start it the car started OK. I don't think it's the alarm or immobilser as it starts after attempting to push start it. I think it's a broken cog or teeth in the flywheel because when releasing the clutch when rolling causes the flywheel to move. Would this be correct? Any suggestion guys?
  14. I'm trading it in. Trust me, U wouldn't wanna buy my car... :P
  15. When I look back i remember all the problems I had with her. But i really do love the Sportivo. It was like love at first sight when I first laid eyes on her. I actually bought the car without testing her. Once I signed the paperwork I then asked for a test drive. That's how much I loved her. But as time goes by my love for her slowly declined. With all the Sh!t she's been giving me I cannot tolerate her anymore. It's time to sign the divorce papers. :( But it's all good. I found a new partner in my life and I know she'll treat me better.
  16. I'm not sure when I'll be getting the car as I'm going through a wholeseller. I just made the deal yesterday and he will be finding out if there is a black one available in sydney. If not then I'll have to wait til one is. It could be next year. But it is definitely a 05 compliant. I hope that comes with 17 inch wheels and mp3 player. i asked Honda if they know the specs for 05 and they did not know. I'm only getting mats and body kit. The tints i will do myself as I don;t like the factory tint. It's not dark enough. :P
  17. I think this was mentioned before when doing the ECU upgrade. Try sticking the key in and turn to ON. Then pump the brakes 6 times. I think that was how it was done. Maybe someone else can confirm. I might be wrong though.
  18. Sorry to say guys but I'm getting rid of my Sportivo. There have been so many problems with my car thatI've had enough. The other day my car just wouldn;t start. It felt like the immobilizer is still on even though I've checked everything, disconnected battery for a few minutes. Checked fuses etc. I had to get it towed to Toyota which cost me $77. and when it got there the technician jumped in and started the car. I was like WTF! I had it towed there for nothing. They checked the car and said there was nothing wrong with it. I couldn;t understand why it happened. I'm happy to say that I have signed the dotted line for a Honda Accord Euro Luxury. :D I'm not sure when it's arriving hopefully in January for the 05 compliant. Bit pricey but I'm sure it won't have any problems like the Stivo. I'll be sticking around still to see how u guys go with ur cars. I'll always be a Corrolla Boy!.
  19. hey guys. Here's how it went on Thurs. I got there at the Toyota service and the lady that I normally deal with was not there. i spoke to another customer service rep and got into a fight with him. He was telling me that it is ridiculous taking the car up to 8000RPM and wouldn't even talk to me about it. As far as he's concerned they will not look at the problem anymore for me as he thinks that driving under those conditions is ridiculous. So I go off saying what's the point of 141KW at 7800RPM when we can't take it to that rev range etc etc (u know the whole deal). He just wouldn't listen to me. Kept on saying that's ridiculous. he went back and came back with the service manager and he told me to go back and talk to Jenny Stewart. They don't wanna deal with this issue anymore. So I rang Jenny as soon as I got home and she said that all she can do is pass any feed back to the technical team in Mel. That is all she can do and will be mointoring it. I am now all finished with Peter Warren Toyota and will not be going back there again. I still have 1 free service which I will use up and that's it. I've had it!.
  20. Ren I'm looking to sell my Sportivo (Black) if ur interested . PM me and I'll give u full details. I'm in Sydney.
  21. Sorry guys. My mistake :D Should I send the email again???
  22. This is my letter sent to those 4 email addresses Dear Toyota, I am writing to you to express my frustration and utter disappointment with the way Toyota has been handling many issues and problems with the 2003 – 2004 Corolla Sportivo. I purchased my Sportivo back in October 2003 and since day one there have been constant problems with it, some that still have not been resolved. There are a number of Sportivo owners across the nation who are experiencing the same problems. Toyota needs to acknowledge these problems and should work to develop some sort of fix/solution to it. I am fed up with the taking my car back at least every 2 weeks within the last year to get things fixed. I end up getting the car back with the same problem or even worst. One main concern is a sticky/notchy gearbox. When trying to change from 1st to 2nd gear above 5500RPM it would just lock up or jam. It would be impossible to get it from 1st to 2nd in the rev range above 5500. Some owners experience this problem going from 2nd to 3rd as well. Occasionally there would be a crunch when changing gears. This occurs with clutch fully pressed down and a slow gear change. I couldn’t understand why it would crunch into gear with the clutch fully in. A number of Sportivo club members have raised this issue to their dealers already and have been told different things. In my case I was initially told that it was a big ask to change gears at high revs. We all know that this excuse is a load of crap and I didn’t appreciate that answer at all. For one, I use to own an 89 Corolla SX and I’ve driven many other performance cars and they do not have this problem. Secondly, if it was designed like that then why do some Sportivo owners have this problem and some don’t. Thirdly, crunching of gears when changing at low revs shouldn’t happen at all. There is no excuses for that! There are 70% of us in the club who have this problem and the others don’t. If 70% out of about 25-30 Sportivos have this problem imagine how many other Sportivos out there that are not in the club experience the same. This car was marketed with 141KW at 7200RPM. What’s the point of 141KW at 7200RPM when we can’t even take it up to that rev range without the gears jamming up? There is no doubt that there is a problem with the clutching mechanism. Roughly 70% of us experiencing this and there should be a number of reports from the dealers unless they haven’t been reporting them. I have had my report submitted by a field technician and I hope that went through. That was a month ago. I have raised this issue since day one and my other colleagues have as well. We were all told to give a couple of km’s for it to wear in. Now it’s been a year and with almost 20,000 km’s on the clock the problem is still there. To fix this problem, some have chosen to replaced the clutch and flywheel to TRD or TOM’s clutch and flywheel and the problem has gone away. Now if there is a product out there that does eliminate the problem then why can’t Toyota implement that as a solution. Either make a deal with TRD or design something similar and get these out to the customer’s. We have been waiting too long and it is simply unacceptable. With the rate of crunching and jamming, it is not healthy for the gearbox and would damage it. This is a brand new car we’ve purchased with a lot of hard earned money and we do not wish to wait any longer until the gearbox gives in. That is just one major issue we all have experienced. I have also experienced a scraping noise with gearing down and using engine braking and rattles and vibrations. I really do wonder about Toyota's build quality and will think twice about buying another Toyota. I hope you have taken this letter seriously and find a solution fast. We all have been patient and have co operated fully with all our respective dealers. They’ve all put in reports and we are still waiting. Our patience is wearing very thin and our frustration is growing by the day. We will not stop until this problem is rectified and we will fight it all the way. Regards
  23. Nice Peekay! That's what I wanted but couldn't afford it. I was looking at the Accord Euro, not the luxury. It's more affordable. But very nice choice!
