  1. Ahh... strange. What car was that? Subaru/Mazda?
  2. Its fortunate for the Kluger that CX9 arrived a little too late, or else the CX9 would have won in this category.
  3. It doesn't matter... All we want is an estimate
  4. Great findings, johndep. If I understand it right it stores the debugging info for the ECU program itself, which makes it easier for programmers to debug the ECU if necessary. It comes short of saying whether it stores "in flight" info such as vehicle speed history log, steering angle and other info mentioned by takahashi. Maybe Toyota should fit a Black Box like those found on airplanes before handing their test vehicles to Wheels in the next COTY. That way we could even hear what were being mumbled by Ged Bulmer.. LOL
  5. Maybe we shall see if other tests finds the same deficiency as what Wheels have found. I've been reading various tests/reviews on the Toyota Highlander (what they call it in America) when the 08 model was first launched there before coming to Australia, and the only negative is its 2nd row seating. Too bad this model is only available in America and Australia, else we could compare the findings of more varied sources and look for consistency. Wheels often quote "Australian conditions" in their test and sometimes I really wonder how unique Australian roads are, unless you drive to Uluru on a regular basis. Even IF the Kluger's ESP is not properly tuned for dirt roads, I don't believe it'll make a real difference for most city dwellers. Rent a land cruiser if you're paranoid when you intend to hit the bush..

I was adviced by another kind member here to request it from the dealer. Then you can use this website track.toyota.com.au.
  10. Hi A-------, He is old enough to know that.. I think he was punishing the Kluger beyond any other cars/SUVs in the COTY test. Rebellion against anything Toyota, thats Wheels.

You better be right. I signed my life away for a kluger on 20/12 and ETA on the contract was Feb '08 and now it seems like a lie.... March/Apr looks more like it :( We signed a contract on 24/10 (KX-S/towpack/mats) but wanted an '08 complianced car so the promised date is mid-Feb. Lookout if it turns into late Feb or later - I'll be on the warpath arguing for add-on's. Any news?
  13. Conversion from Halogen to XENON 1. Remove the globe 2. Coat the outer surface with a blue tint. Many ways to do this. For example, Mercedes wrap a piece of tranparent blue plastic on it. 3. Replace the globe 4. Testing 1,2,3
  14. Nice, taka! Factory integration.. I hope it covers connection to steering wheel audio button. Now If I ring to tell them I know takahashi do I get a rebate/discount? Tae, pls buy a unit since you already got your kluger, and post your report up here. Thank you.
  15. I never miss an issue of wheels since I started in 2005 when I first came to Australia. They can be biased at times but you know... a pinch of salt. It becomes more evident when they do a comparison btw Toyota (Aurion) vs. Holden (Commodore). They never fail to amaze me on how they can consistently achieve FC figures below the ADR81 for Holden, and way above the ADR81 for Toyota. Besides that, theyre quite a good read...
  16. when i get my KXR i might wanna get one but unsure which 1 to go for..
  17. Grande are blessed with it so lucky lucky.. As for the rest KXR & KXS, has anyone installed one of these : AVN 6000 Pioneer AVIC
  18. Whatever car u're buying look at the following websites first http://www.cfionline.com.au/ http://www.discountnewcars.com.au/ You dont have to buy thru them but they give you a good indication on probably the lowest possible for non fleet buyers. Prices are displayed in the clear.. Armed with these info, you can better approach car dealers There're many websites offering "private fleet" purchase but they normally don't tell you the price upfront, and require you to fill up a form and expose yourself.

You better be right. I signed my life away for a kluger on 20/12 and ETA on the contract was Feb '08 and now it seems like a lie.... March/Apr looks more like it :( Given you have a contract in place, which the dealer would want, have you tried getting a new price? Just as their quoted ETA was wrong, say your final price was wrong. I guess in most cases that would not work to well. What would you do if it was bits of the car missing that they said it had to get a contract in place? On the other hand, what about asking for a few more extras. We are not just talking a few days over, more like weeks/months. Let us know how you go! Tell you a nice story to get the sale, then hope you let me changes little bits. Doesn't sound like the its in the correct sprit of fair play. Evil man trying to get me blood pressure up and go on rampage at the dealer :D Serously I dont think there's anything i could do :( just wait
  20. thats good hear, takahashi. thanks for that. does that switch deactivate "VSC" as well? in any case, the journo who wrote this review deserves a spanking: "But the traction and stability control cannot be turned off which, while being a boon in the boondocks, may turn out to be a setback in the sand." URL: http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0...5010760,00.html
  21. Are you sure the kluger's traction control can be turned off???

A$57k driveaway for a Grande AWD is not impossible at all if u're talking abt the Gen1. As for the current model its a bit hard to believe you could get tht price as a private buyer of 1 unit. Anyway , who knows you might be as suave as Mr Bond B) When I haggled for my KXR, I used this website as to what to aim for www.cfionline.com.au Its good because when the negotiatons "heats up" and the salesman questions you on what made you think you could get it at that price I could simply point him to the URL :P

Web tracking facility? Hi, Thanks for your interest and your reply. Customers who place an order for a new Toyota have access to Customer Order Web Tracking. Your dealer should provide you with a User Code and Password to access this facility via the internet. This information is sent to you via a letter in the post, shortly after signing the sales contract. Got to www.toyota.com.au, and click on the Track my new Toyota link near the bottom left hand corner. Log in using your given User Code and password, Agree to the disclaimer, and you can view the status of your order. Perhaps go back to your dealer and inquire about accessing the facility if you did not get a letter. The user code is your customer order number, and the password is supplied by Toyota. I havent got a letter of any kind yet and the contract was signed 20/12/07.. Damn, time to call up the dealer and ask Thanks for the info!
