  2. Received same boilerplate email: Dear...... Thank you for contacting Toyota Customer Experience Centre, We assure you Toyota Motor Corporation Australia takes safety of its vehicles as a number one priority and we understand the high expectations our customers have of their vehicle and our products & services. Toyota Australia have developed a replacement part for your vehicle with more durable material, approved by our engineers. Any variation outside this Customer Service Exercise would need to be discussed with the Service Manager at your preferred Toyota Dealership. Please be advised that this is a Customer Service Exercise and not a safety recall. Thank you for contacting Toyota and giving us the opportunity to respond. Kind Regards, Marcel de Vere Customer Experience Consultant Customer Experience Centre Toyota Motor Corporation Australia Ph: 1800 252 097 __________
  3. Sigh.. I think I'll just fork out that 40 bucks and let Toyota do the replacement.
  4. Rice Racing, Why not name the dealer so Toyota knows who's not following instructions.. That'll be even more effective so other dealers would be more wary
  5. Got the letter friday , wanted to call this morning until I read this toyota $40 bucks saving/accountant ****... Should i wait a bit till the proper parts arrive or..
  6. yikes.. didn't know abt this gonna check mine tonight to see if it has the rubber hose
  7. put the gear in reverse while driving j/k:D

    Dash Lighting

I believe the original LEDs were intentionally masked green to match the audio button illuminations. In this pic below, once u've changed the headunit that has white/blue illuminations then it'll be perfect -- 3.5" LCD with blue background, A/C with white LEDs, Headunit with White/Blue illuminations
  10. Yeap.. definitely sounds like a bug.
  11. nealo, Nice find.. have u decided which gps unit for your kluger? Some other alternatives I'm looking at: http://www.polarisgps.com.au http://members.optusnet.com.au/auspacks/
  12. Mikeyboy, Can you share with us the wiring diagrams from Toyota? I looking for a "complete guide" on how to do a DIY replacement for the headunit. So on top of wiring stuffs I'd also need to find out how to remove the dash panels. Once I've got enough confidence I'll buy this unit from ebay (pic below). The only one I could afford
  13. That no good ppl! damm those mainland chinese.. may they burn in hell. oops i am a chinese myself :D I was wanting to post this ad from ebay but held back bcoz didnt wanna interfere with the group buy.. but now since that this isnt going ahead, this may worth a look: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Car-DVD-GPS-Radio-T...1QQcmdZViewItem Its a little bit more expensive though, $749.99 + $75 delivery. And it's some unknown brand made in china (again!) I am not recommending anyone to buy it.. and I am still thinking abt it and been asking the seller some questions
  14. can someone enlighten me on the benefits of rotary engine as in the one in RX8.. it consumes more fuel than piston V6 (350Z) and gives less power more delicate and needs more attention - consumes engine oil, etc. whats wrong with bigger capacity piston engine? i can only think of it being rational in countries where road tax penalize big engine displacement, eg. Malaysia, 3000cc engine = $2000 rego / year
  15. the auto gearbox features "super ECT" thats supposed to be some AI stuff. it probably needs some training or getting used to your way of driving. when u put ur foot down, did u step all the way down ? try doing it more often and hopefully the system picks up your driving behavior and knows what you want as for mine, i find i downshift too much esp when i go slow (<10kph) over speed bump. when that happens it'll downshift to the first gear! i find that unneccesary
  16. Hi Taka I m alright. Working on my next hollywood blockbuster atm... Filled up the tank with v-power now. I will try $15 next time and see if it resets :D

  18. I drive an '08 Kluger. If someone can recommend a good (& cheap) installer for this device then I may be interested. My location: Melb
  19. Was running low on petrol so reluctatnly refilled at a nearby BP $tation. So just put in $10 of fuel just enough to get to my favorite petrol station. After driving off, the fuel gauge did not budge a little (6.7l should move the needle abit), and the trip computer did not reset Is there a minimum threshold of refill before it gets registered by the system?
  20. It's worth to get the KX-S if you could afford it. Among other thinggs, don't forget the KX-R is still having manual A/C and single disc audio. The most dissapointing bit abt the KX-R has to be the crappy audio. Yes, this can be easily upgraded and you can get a decent set that doesnt cost too much from JB Hifi, etc. but you run the risk of having the dash scratched. Same goes for other bits that can be upgraded, there's always a risk of damage from dodgy installation job.. There are some other bits that aren't easily upgraded, at least not cheap eg. leather sets, sun roof (grande), push engine start (grande), powered tailgate (again, grande). But if I can turn back time... I might go for the Mazda CX-9
  21. are you sure you did not drop off an obese at geelong?
