  1. when i bought mine i insisted the car must not have more than 10k on it or i wouldnt accept the car. have this black and white on the contract. i am always wary of dealers letting ppl do test drives on brand new cars. hang a trade plate on and off they go.. i have been given test drives in such manner n pretty sure u guys have experienced the same

    KX-R 17" Tyres

Its this same thread mate Anyway.. back then (2nd post) you said you were after quietness and now it's a bit noisier than Dunlops?
  3. Finally got the whole set installed. Thanks to mirz for being the first to do this and providing the steps On the kxr I had to remove 3 steel 'rings' that tie the inner fabric to the outer.. These once removed cannot be reused , anyway not sure they're needed as the flap covers up that section nicely.
  4. No offence guys but I think Toyota may decide to stop bringing these in.. Not selling.
  5. Thanks for the reply, mirz. Yes I use the provided metal tubes. Is it the shape of the cushion you find uncomfortable?
  6. Hey Mirz Do you find that the headrest units do not fit firmly in place? It's not too bad but they vibrate a little when car is moving
  7. gee.. thats a good point. i wouldnt mind the $299 set being stolen but not windows smashed hmmmm
  8. Same here.. I spent some time searching for one without the cover. Thought it'll look odd Will update once I get it most likely well after christmas or even new yr
  9. Bought a set from ebay.. haven't thought of how am i going to work around that problem yet Mirz, are yours with zipper cover over the screens?
  10. Thanks for the pics. Nicely done. One problem on my KXR is there's no zipper to access the space behind the seats. Hmm.. I got to figure this out.
  11. Can't wait to see the pics.. How many screws to remove the centre console btw driver and passenger seat? Can I use something like a Y-cable if I do not want to cut and solder the wire?
  12. "I can help you solve this puzzle"
  13. Any '08 or later experiencing this problem? Mine is early '08 and I *think* it has this problem.. not so sure. Sometimes when I put in reverse and back out from garage in the morning there's a distinctive THUNK. Hard to tell where its coming from. Same issue?
  14. this is great wall X240 suv
  15. i see more of RX 350 in the facelifted kluger's front
  16. beau.... makes my kluger looks so ugly now
  17. Kesawi Does ur alpine unit plays AVI from USB thumbdrive? How much did you pay for the unit itself and installation? One thing i notice the construct of these branded units is that they look alot more roboust even in pictures. See how the LCD is attached to the base unit.. The ebay ones have flimsy looking pivot that I doubt can hold the LCD firm enough so it doesn't vibrate while the car is on the move. Hm.. but they're so cheap and play anything.
  18. Massive 15-inch screen - $249.99 free postage.. Damn these are huge screens do you think they're too heavy to be mounted on the roof? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CR1502-Roof-mount-15-Car-monitor-Flip-Down-DVD-player-/110522564050?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19bba87dd2
  19. An auto electrician here.. goody. How much do you charge for installation? What's a "fair" price.. I don't wanna get ripped off by others
  20. Honda back in the 80's did the same thing with the doors and carried on till this day.. My accord euro's doors shut nicely too That aside.. the instruments, dials, knobs on the commodore i drove felt quality. Its probably just little under the accord euro's but definitely better than the kluger's. I am quite dissapointed by my kluger's interior... not what a made-in-japan should feel like. They've really gone down hill
  21. I am asian too and yes I don’t really understand why there aren’t many asians driving falcodores. The Asians living in Springvale are most likely to have Toyotas in their garage and the ones living in Kew would prefer Mercedes. Ok, back to the car, Holden SSV. What a beast. I’ve never driven the V8 Holdens before. Often I hear ppl complaining how bad the commodores are built and how the Toyotas are miles ahead. I disagree. I rented an SV6 for 5 days while on holiday in queensland. Can’t comment on long term reliability after just 5 days but I must say I m pretty impressed by its build quality and its driving experience. Getting into the car, its very dark, so it depends on whether you like dark trims or not. I find it better than silver plastics in the Aurion. Shut the door and it feels the outside has been muted instantly. The door shuts with a nice “woommff” unlike my Kluger’s that goes “bengggg”. I am not good emulating sound but you know what I mean. The steering was good, no rattling and that could the RWD advantage. So why didn’t I buy the SS…. I am still unsure if the rationales were rationales . It was mainly its fuel use (14.3 on pre-AFM V8) and a very strong object from my wife. Maybe all Asian ladies don’t like falcodores hence the Asian men don’t get to buy them?
  22. If you're in Melb, I would recommend the big dealership near the bayside suburbs.

    Kluger Dash

Yes, hard plastics are all over on the interior of my KXR. Not sure if the Grande has different treatment but they do have the (fake) wood trims, which IMHO actually make things worse. Toyota are known to be very plastics on the inside, nothing u can do abt it except moving up to a lexus.
