  1. Something like this? There's also HKS CAMP 2 http://www.nengun.com/hks/camp-2 Otherwise, another option is to upgrade to one of those Android units with support for Torque (Not all have support for the OBDII app.). The guys at the FT86 forums managed to root one of them to run Torque. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29723
  2. For Camry SEs distributed by SET (South East Toyota.) dealers in the US, LED DRL kits are available as a port installed option and come with a DRL On/ Off rocker switch. Only thing, USD 350 on eBay. Except for the factory-style switch & the price, looks similar to the Taiwanese-made item posted by u54mot. Wouldn't be surprised if the SET version comes from the same factory too! http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Toyota-Camry-SE-XLE-LED-Daytime-Running-Lts-12-/160778033179?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item256f1e181b&vxp=mtr#ht_1407wt_1163 Source of info: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/310-7th-generation-2012/410015-2012-camry-se-customized-2.html Another alternative is the Rostra LED DRL for the Camry SE. USD280 for these. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-2013-TOYOTA-CAMRY-SE-DAYTIME-RUNNING-LIGHTS-COMPLETE-/151047651949?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item232b24426d http://www.rostra.com/custom-daytime-running-lights-by-rostra.php http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/310-7th-generation-2012/427186-rostra-camry-se-specific-grill-drl.html
  3. Finally got VIC plates! xD

  4. Factory-look units for the 2013 RAV4 have just begun to pop out of China. Expect to see them on eBay soon. Of these two, the second link looks 99% similar to the US-spec Entune headunit, except that the Setup button on the right to the disc slot is replaced by an SD card slot for the GPS software. Another thing to note is that both run on Windows CE 6.0, which can be very picky with certain GPS software (Took me a while to get Garmin to run on mine, and it isn't as perfect as I want it to be.). If you can wait, I'd recommend going for the full Android-powered units once they are released/ dropped down in price (You can get all sorts of GPS software from Google Play store.). http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/830146090/car_gps_navigationfor_Toyota_new_RAV4.html http://www.happyshoppinglife.com/auto-radio-dvd-gps-navi-with-digital-tv-rds-for-toyota-rav4-new-p-1125.html
  5. Some news for the Australian market: -No more Japanese production. -Both RHD Aus/NZ & LHD Eastern European export models will be sourced from the US for the first time (Excludes China, where it will be assembled locally as per current model.). -Will be sold as a 7 instead of an 8 seater (Something to do with ADR compliance issues.). -V6 only (2.7 4cyl out for Australia.), no hybrid (Probably something to do with it engineered for LHD only, like the previous model.). -Unique suspension tuning for Australian-spec cars. -RHD production to begin at the fourth quarter of this year, leading to a February intro for Australia. I just hope that Toyota equips the Grande model with HID headlights this time. Would be really odd if they don't, as the top-spec Corolla, Aurion & RAV4 come with them standard. 6. Just finished watching the live reveal-> http://new.livestream.com/Toyota/NY2013
  7. Couple more hours before its turn to debut on the auto show floor.
  8. Toyota Thailand has issued a press release (In Thai. Haven't found an English press release yet.) of the new Vios/ Yaris Sedan. Will be launched tomorrow. Not sure if Australia will get the car from Thailand or Japan. The JDM Nissan Latio/ Almera & March/ Micra is now Thai sourced, so wouldn't be surprised if Toyota decides to do the same & source the Belta from Thailand instead of manufacturing it there (Toyota has done this with the Avensis Eagon from the UK and the Liteace/Townace Commercial Vehicle from Indonesia.). 9. They should fit, saw an Echo with Corolla Sportivo wheels few years back.
  10. And here's a teaser showing the RH headlight & part of the grille from Toyota USA. Will make its debut at the New York International Auto Show next week!
  11. Spotted a Silver Blue Aurion Sportivo with TRD 3500S wheels at Swinburne Prahran, does it belong to anyone here?
  12. Wow, the color of the Clarion headunit and the where it's placed looks like it's meant to be part of the car. Well done! Just wondering, can a reverse camera be connected to the tablet?
  13. Depends on the market really. The Aurion (AU/ NZ excluding Sportivo grade.) comes with a Chrome & Black grille, while the Camry (South East Asian version, same exterior/ interior as the Aurion, but more upmarket.) comes with a full chrome grille. Is the grille metal or plastic? If it's the former (Metal.), you can use paint stripper to get rid of the black paint. Some of the older Lexus models have a full metal Chrome / Black grille where owners could strip off the black painted portions resulting in a full chrome grille.
  14. Googled photos of the Tarago, Estima & Previa (UK) dashboards and they are the same. Only difference on all cars would be the controls for the (Manual Knob-type or Push-button Climate Control.) A/C, both of which have the same basic shape & doesn't affect the areas covered by a dash mat. Here's one on ebay from an Aussie seller, note that it covers the storage box in front of the driver's side. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DASH-MAT-DASHMAT-DASHBOARD-COVER-FIT-TOYOTA-TARAGO-00-05-DARK-GREY-/190758258868?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c6a1408b4&_uhb=1#ht_3748wt_952
  15. Howdy! Haven't been very active for a while due to uni & other interests. Anyways, will be relocating to VIC at the end of this month. This means bringing the RAV4 with me (Thought of selling it and getting a new car, but maybe later down the road after we can find a house that we like.). Looking to get a service apartment/ apartment around/ near the Prahran area for now (Will be studying at Swinburne there.). Also, I'm looking for a Toyota specialist (Other than the dealer.) & an electrician, perhaps one of you guys might know a good one? Need to get both O2 sensors replaced and the rear view camera installed once car is in VIC. Hope to join one of the local TOCAU meets when I have the chance!
  16. And here's the real deal (Leaked photo from Eastern Europe, probably from a dealer preview event.). The front end has this premium look to it, kinda like a mini-Camry. Also, notice those additional sonar sensors, looks like Intelligent Park Assist (That automatic parking feature.) will available or standard on the high spec model in Europe (Would be nice if Toyota Australia introduces that feature to the Ultima grade down under.).
  17. There's the Chinese Factory-style head unit, though those are a hit or miss. Kenwood also makes a 2DIN Wide Headunit for Toyotas (DDX630WBT), It's GPS ready which means a navi box will be required (Kenwood has the KNA-G630AU,basically a rebadged Garmin GVN54 Navi Box. Plug & Play, no Touch Screen Interface required.). Saw it on ebay, from a Western Australian seller for $630, excluding the Navi Box. http://sg.kenwood.com/Car_Entertainment/Visual_n_Navigation_Systems/DDX630WBT http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LATEST-KENWOOD-DDX630WBT-TOYOTA-PREMIUM-7-EXPRESS-DELIVERY-BLUETOOTH-CAR-AUDIO-/251221720516?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a7dfb3dc4&_uhb=1#ht_4481wt_1135 The options below retain the existing factory unit, using an external device. FM Modulator box (ROW Radio Frequencies.) with English Interface, SD card slot, USB & Aux ports.. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.219298984776491.61391.167298403309883&type=3 Garmin GVN53/ 54 + Touch Screen Interface https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.481124561927264.113221.167298403309883&type=3 NaviPlus Navi Box (Australian) http://www.hitv.com.au/product.htm?action=dispatch&page=naviplus NESA NaviBox-1 (Australian) http://www.neltronics.com.au/NAVIBOX1.htm
  18. I see a Camry-style soft touch 'stitched' dashboard. Looks pretty upscale for a Yaris. Preview of RHD model rumored to be unveiled in March at the Thailand Motor Expo. Source: http://paultan.org/2013/01/08/toyota-vios-spyshots-of-upcoming-third-gen/
  19. Still covered in heavy disguise, but I can make out the large front grille and RAV4.4-inspired taillight shape. Also, there are rumors that the Aussie-spec Kluger might be sourced from the USA. Btw, Model Year 2014 debut= Mid or end-2013 in Calendar Year. Source:http://www.autoblog.com/2013/01/09/all-new-toyota-highlander-snapped-while-testing/
  20. Pretty minor changes for the 2013 Model Year. From what I can see, two colors replaced by new ones, gloss black lower rear bumper lip and front bumper garnish (Other than that, looks the same from what I can see.) & the addition of what looks like LED DRLs. Oh, and a 500USD bump in the price. I guess we can expect to see the updated model down under in the next few months. [Please click on images below to enlarge.] Source: http://www.scionlife...dated-for-2012/
  21. Nice! Is that a 2WD or e4WD Cube? I have a soft spot for the Nissan Cube, or any one of those tall JDM light/ compact cars too (As a design student, I just love the unique styling of those cars!). That's efficient (Probably not the right word I'm looking at.) Japanese design for you. I just like how they manage to maximize space in such a compact package (The 660cc Kei-jidosha (Those JDM-only Daihatsu, Honda & Suzuki.) & tall compact wagons like the Cube are great examples.).
  22. Would love to do an itasha, complete with figurines & dakimakura one day...

  23. Wouldn't mind going to one before I leave Perth in November. This would be my last one, before I move interstate.
  24. Depends on the enigne type. The 2.4 four cylinder models shouldn't have any difficulties when sourcing parts for servicing (Same 2AZ engine as seen under the hood of a local RAV4, Camry, Ipsum & Tarago.). Likewise with the 3.0 V6 model, you can source it from Lexus (The ES300 shares the same 1MZ-FE engine with VVT-i. Not sure if engine parts from the Aussie Camry V6 would be compatible as it is slightly different.). Otherwise, there's always the overseas option to source parts. Particularly in South East Asia, where Estimas are very popular grey-imports (Should be cheaper than the Toyota dealer too. Sourced genuine Toyota oxygen sensors for the RAV4 from Malaysia, I would be charged three times more for the same part if I were to buy it from the Toyota dealer down under.). Lacking in safety features? That simply isn't true. Sounds like the typical dealer scare tactic (As usual,). We also have a 2001 Estima L (Not in Australia though.), the 2.4G 7 passenger model. Like the equivalent Aussie Tarago Ultima, it came with ABS brakes (Standard across the range.), dual air bags (Also standard across the range.), in addition to factory-spec Xenon headlights and Clearance Sonar (Last one is a very handy factory option which isn't available on the Tarago till the 2003 facelift.). The 3.0G V6 model can also be factory optioned with Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control & Adaptive Radar Cruise Control (Last one is a very rare factory option.). 11 years on, and the Estima is still going strong since my parent drove it out of the dealer brand new. So no worries in terms of reliability here (Provided that the car is well taken care of.) The Estima is a very good choice (Comfy minivan on long distance trips.), especially if you can get hold of a full-spec G grade with powered sliding door (Single powered sliding door with chain-drive on pre-facelift, dual powered sliding doors with belt-drive on facelift. All, except the ultra-basic J grade come with vacuum assistance for the sliding doors, which helps shut the doors close if half latched) & the clearance sonar (Very useful, considering the size.). One more thing a 7 passenger G or Aeras grade has over the Tarago Ultima is a sliding ottoman for the second row captain seats.
