  2. haha thanks guys! I've been reluctant to sell it and only put it on the forums yesterday; of which an interstate buyer has expressed interest and may come down to view it - if he doesn't, YES more driving! Oh and a friend linked me to a photo of the car taken some time back at a car meet Awesome photo!
  3. Decided to put the car up for sale now that I have a company car to get me 'round. I also have either of my brother's JZX110 Mark II or Evolution 6 TME to drive so no point me keeping it It's a '99 model with a 5spd speed Factory manual gearbox and torsen rear diff. Overall, car is in very good condition, it does have a few stone chips on the bonnet and had a rear end recently repaired. Mechanically A1. I'll add the Carsales link but heres' a quick run down: 165k 100k service completed with Genuine Toyota parts P/S, A/C, electric everything Engine Aftermarket FMIC/front pipe/air filter HKS Hi-Power Silent cat-back exhaust NST alloy radiator 200rwkw tuned by Status Tuning. Car has ma Carsales link: 1999 TOYOTA CHASER TOURER V JZX100 Sedan Private Cars For Sale in VIC - carsales.com.au Asking $19,500 for a well rounded package with some money spent, I'm not in a hurry to sell so no need for low balling. Definitely no test pilots or tyre-kickers. Would like to see it go to someone from the boards :)
  4. Bad luck but always a next time hey! Viet was way off his time as well, and on semi's.. Those Remsa pads are very good for the money, I did my '39 on them and didn't cook it the entire day. Dusty as a mothef.cker though!
  5. Cmon man he only be my by 0.01 of a second - I still wanna see the vid lol
  6. Thanks guys! Some good ones so far! Did anyone get a shot of the car close up with the CE's fitted?
  7. lol u guys - thanks for the help yesterday, very much appreciated! And yeh Duy, 1.39.9450 :) Will update thread when Justin and Jeff can/will send me pics..
  8. You need to speak to Mick (aka Micko) - you'll find him on the above forum Justin mentioned. He has modified AE95R Wagon and knows his way around a 4AGE well so look him up :)
  9. With another track day coming up on Tuesday, it was time to get the car sorted; a trusty member from these forums was able to loan me some wheels that had been in storage for quite some time and this is the result; That's with my 245 sized semi's fitted so there's a fair amount of scrubbing which I was expecting. The upside is, they are rediculously light! The CE28N's measure 18x9.5 (+22) all 'round and even with the 245/40 sized tyre, it's still a few kilo's lighter than my front 18x8.5 Work CR's with 235/40 tyres. Imagine the rears! I had them filled with Nitrogen as well while at the tyre shop only because it was available :P Guards will get rolled and pulled tomorrow along with the usual service (oil/filter/plugs) before the track day. I was contemplating about going with a new/smaller battery through work but we'll see. There's still two corners I need to sort out at Winton which should see a '39 if I don't screw up but right now it's the weather that dictates anything. Forecast is for high 20's, numerous showers, mostly cloudy and epic skids. Should be good either way!
  10. Tyre pressure gauge and a wheel chock if you start to get a little more serious. The pressure gauge will help with monitoring pressure levels as the day heats up and the chock will be used when you park the car after each session. Pulling handbrake up may lead to hot-spotting your disc = warping.
  11. Thanks :) You can get aftermarket LED tailights for the Chasers' but they look weird - definitely not a fan but your ones do look good!
  12. There are two main corners I need to work on. The first one is the one leading onto the back straight; I hit the apex abit too early and don't use the end of the corner enough. The second is the corner exiting the last clevage in the back section, similar deal. I did adjust one main line: through the sweeper I'm now doing that corner as a double apex - far cleaner line for me. I used to run wide and go in fast but would mess the exit. Now, it's around a 140-145k entry with no brakes and hitting apex 1, run wide, hit apex 2 and fire out. Works well! lol Duy, here's what the other Chaser guys' managed on the day: Adam 1:42.0 Simon 1:45.0 Winston 1:46.5 Benrys 1:49.6 (JZX110) Thanks Justin, you wouldn't be wrong with the power equation. I think if she had about 20-30rwkw more, all in the mid range - I'd see a 38. All, if not most of the cars doing mid to high 30's are well under 1400kg or have some decent power to them. At 200rwkw and 1550kg + driver, she's alot of mass to move! As for the entertaining part; here's the outside footage of me catching Adam haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAcBZ1GXJto&feature=player_embedded
  13. So, another Winton day done and dusted! Was well organised and planned by the EXE Crew as always and couldn't have asked for better weather or company! Previous pb was 1.40.1170 set on 235/40/R18 Dunlop Direzza D03G's (Soft) which was then sold to a mate so he could pb. This time 'round I was using medium compound 245/40/R18 Kumho V710 tyres that were much older in comparison ('09 v '12) but knew they were good tyres if kept well and they had. Anyway, that was the main changes from the car and the sector times are as follows: Session 1: (Passenger) 2:27.8390 1:50.3610 1:42.9400 1:44.6460 1:42.3760 2:17.6410 Let a mate ride shot gun as first Session was used to gauge how the tyres felt and initial impressions were good! Mid cornering grip was sweet but was scrubbing heaps at the front and after a few laps, car began understeering from excess pressure. Thought I may have cracked a '43 and was happy to find out I managed '42.3 - dropped tyre pressure all 'round and game on for Round 2! Session 2: 1:57.1670 1:41.5750 1:42.3510 1:40.8720*** 1:41.1910 1:41.4780 After a couple of warm up laps and setting the car for a clear run; it was hammer time! Car had never felt better through the apexes before and even though I was understeering still, she still managed to turn in and hold the cornering speeds. '40.8? Hell yeh! But still not quite a 30 something that I really wanted. Down went the tyre pressure again Session 3: 1:54.3970 1:40.8660 1:42.6290 1:40.7390 1:43.0050 1:40.4170 At this point, Adam (white JZX100) was struggling to put down a solid time so we agreed for him to go out first and I would hunt him in the latter stages of the Session for a battle. And battle be had! 'Should note that his car did have a few gremlins preventing him from putting down better times but regardless it's a good effort nonetheless. After a cool down lap, I went for a last flying lap which then saw a '40.4! So closssse! You can watch the battle below: Session 4: (Passenger) 1:49.5430 1:42.6420 1:43.6100 1:42.5040 1:43.1500 Decided to take my brother out as he only ventures to Winton only when/if the JZX crew are in attendance. He mentioned something about 'fast' and 'grippy' and 'good brakes' - interesting to see the forces on your passenger when you're strapped down in a fixed back seat and they're holding on hahaha By this stage, I had refuelled the last of my petrol. There was only going to be 3 solid laps in it left before the tyres would go off so out I went, again... Session 5: 2:01.1200 1:42.2260 1:40.2840 1:40.9450 2:07.2810 That 30 bracket is an illusive m***rfuc**r! I knew I had scraped together a solid lap but upon returning to the pits; the guys had told me it was close but no dice! Regardless; 5 full Sessions, a pb and driving the car home? Definitely couldn't complain with that! Next one is in early November so might just enter that and see if I can go 30's from working a slightly different line in 2 corners. Will be going with a few friends and have a group organised but.. anyone wanna join? (I may have 2 free spots) :P
  14. Good daily's they are. If you need to know anything, join http://forum.twincam.org.au/ 'lots of info and tech there or you can ask me, I used to have 2 of them and race one on a regular basis
  15. Update! When the car was purchased, the OEM mirrors were flaking around the base which proved to be a common problem amongst Chasers'. Undeterred I focused on other areas of the car until the exterior was more or less completed, only then did the mirrors start to stick out if you looked at the car more carefully. Anyway, scored some genuine Ganador Super Mirrors at a good price and had it painted up through work. Then went and took some hard parking photos lol Also resrprayed the wheels with gloss black but lacking the clear coat. Far better than the matt finish but the current pads are dusty as Sh!t I always felt the rears sat a smidgen lower so out came the tools and C spanners and down the front came a massive 5mm :P I scrape enough and the Super Streets aren't exactly stiff so it'll have to remain for now :( ..random interior night shot. Just need a disco ball! Sold the previous semi slicks and purchased some replacement ones. With track day next weekend, I'm hoping to improve (break into the 30's) from the last couple of times. Still need a pair of wheels and with only a week left, times running out but.. we'll get there!
  16. Can we make it any later so Alister can go? Make it for about 1ish? btw I vote daytona track
  17. 14th sounds good and is currently free for me. I vote the one at the front, close proximity to everything so max damage/carnage if things go wrong :P
  18. So many corners, to; drift. I'll bring the racesuit for sh.its and giggles haha
  19. I meant if you ever sell them, I'd hurt you lol See, fixed back are sweeeeet!
  20. Them wheels are a perfect match for the car! If you ever sell them....
  21. Yehhh boiii super-lightweights! (like my wallet after paying for them...)
  22. Going from soft compound to Mediums
  23. Well, what an awesome weekend! Ok so I didn't exactly PB which I was hoping to but there's always a next time! (Attending EXE Winton Day in 4 weeks) As best I tried, I couldn't get close to my 1.41.1xx time set previously - by the end of Session 3 I lapped a best of 1.41.8770 for the day and no matter how hard I pushed or tried, I couldn't get much closer. Regardless, the car went well and it was good to be on track with a great bunch of friends :D Couple of pics I could find.. What I fought with most of day ..I'll be back, in four weeks lol And finally a video. Starts around the 1.30 mark. Didn't edit it cause I don't have a program to so it's as-is from the GoPro :P First time going to Winton and not coming home with a pb which was abit dis-heartening but it was bound to happen! With abit over a month to go for the next Winton Day, the next plan of attack is send the car on a diet. So a day after racing, Alister went and collected my new race wheels (the other pair will come).. ..and so it begins! Again..
  24. Essentially yeh pretty much Justin. Read below Ok so track day is this coming weekend Spent the last week fitting QFM HP-X pads in the rear and new Remsa in the fronts. Also flushed out the brake fluid with Penrite Sin with the help of adam (thanks champ!). Then the weekend came 'round and decided I had enough of matt black and changed the colour of the wheels. Then that led to another thing so I re-finished my calipers with some paint as it had a few stone chips/marks from pad installation. The TOM'S decals were destroyed while fitting the pads as well, so... replacement TOM'S one went in as well lol Now the brakes feel awesome! Initial feel and bite has increased noticeably with the only draw-back being it gets fairly dusty but no complaints. Paint turned out better than expected for one can! Had just enough for two coats :D Hurry up week-end, where you at!
  25. Bad news: Peter no longer going Good news: His allowed me to borrow GoPro Now need to pull a '39 to make it worth his while 'cause his going to the snow on the same weekend. One more week!
