  1. Yeah, I shouldnt've said Hayman-Reece do all the tow bars, but they DO make tow bars for Toyota Australia under contract. Yes I realise that. :)
  2. Rang around today, it was a little confusing. Castle Hill Toyota claim there is no seperate plastic panel for the tow bar, they make their own holes. Terry Shields Toyota said it is a seperate part; $92 plus $4 postage My dealer said; $102.50 and they wouldnt throw it in for free. I told them, Id get back to them. They WILL throw it in if they want that car out of the yard (its an 07 model)
  3. Hi Duc, Ill be getting my Kluger in the next fortnight, I already have the Bladerunner steps ready to go. Ill post some pics when I have them fitted to the vehicle. Cheers, Scott.
  4. Im currently re-negotiating my order on a late 2007 Kluger KXR, so far they are dropping $2k off the price. The other thing Ive asked is for the rear panel to be thrown in. (getting a Hayman Reece tow bar myself) Their spare parts dept was closed, so I couldnt close the deal today. Tomorrow, ill find out how much that panel is, and if it is in fact available as a seperate part. (not as a package in the tow pack) Ill report back as to its cost if its available on its own.
  5. Well put it this way; Ive heard from two different sources, (one that works for Toyota), that Hayman Reece make all the towbars for Toyota anyway. I was quoted $493 for a Hayman Reece towbar fitted. The Toyota one is somewhere around the $750. The Toyota towbar has a three year warranty if installed on a new vehicle, or one year if car is out of warranty. The Hayman Reece tow bar has a lifetime warranty. The onlky downside I can think of, is that the Toyota fitted towbar, appears to replace the back plate on the Kluger, so that the wiring and bar itself, come out of their own holes. For example; http://www.toyota.com.au/TWR/content/static/30446.jpg I imagine the Hayman Reece towbar kind of pokes from underneath.
  6. Yeah, I know about Blinglights. Ive spoken to a couple of guys that own them, and they dont fit the Toyota factory bezels.
  7. Just an update on this discussion, some people in the states are successfully fitting OEM Camry fog lights into the Kluger bezels. I had my eye on the Camry lights, as the Kluger/Highlander really has its unpinnings as a Camry/Aurion wagon.. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthre...9104&page=3

Wow man. Sweet ride. :) Thanks for sharing.
  9. Absolute waste of time and money. You've bought a Toyota, so its not going to rust anytime soon. You can protect the paint by doing a periodic wash n wax. There's a thread on that here; http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=14476
  10. Hi I believe these guys do Prado gas installations; http://www.apollogas.com.au/FULL_KIT_LIST.html Im looking to get one done for a Kluger, havent done it yet though.
  11. We've discussed it, not sure if anyone went ahead and did it yet. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...l=anchor+points
  12. As long as its clean, try not to drop it or get any grit into it.
  13. Mikey, thats the stuff i use too. (sorry I shouldve been clearer) Its a clear liquid made by Meguiars. Man, i dont miss the days of painting tyres with a brush of black goop. :)
  14. Hi yeah, wheel cleaner from Meguiars, and get a brush for your wheels too. DONT use the mit on the wheels! :) Tire black just makes the tyres look shiny and new. (makes car look newer too.)
  15. Hi Taka, I believe the wiring is already there (realy etc) to put a rocker switch in on the dash. We already have a blank panel on the dash (KXR models) thats there to be popped out and used for additional options. Not sure whats involved in replacing the indicator stick, but we definetly dont have the foglight option on it, i checked already.
  16. You also want a cleaner for your wheels and some tire black.
  17. I highly recommend the Meguiars products; http://www.meguiars.com.au/ Many car fanatics use this brand. The NXT car wash and accompanying NXT Wax are the way to go; http://www.meguiars.com.au/productdetail_2...tect&show=1 THe NXT wax is good in that its a polish and wax in one, you wash the car, then apply this stuff in the direction of the car. Then go back to where you started and towel off the haze. Generally, you only need do it at the change of each season, and should only take about an hour to do so. I bought a Mazda brand new a few years ago, and after putting the NXT wax on, the car paint looked even better if thats possible. The car was shiny enough being new, but the NXT made the paint look kind of wet all the time. (deeper colour or something) The other thing you want is the Quick Detailer, its a lubricated cleaner that you can use to wipe off bird poop, bug splats etc, without having to wash your car. You just squirt some on, and use a cloth to wipe off. Really handy for removing spots between washes. Other than that, get a bucket, a mit and a chamios to wipe the water off. Also get a few of the microfibre towels. THese can be used with both the NXT wax and the Quick Detailer. (not at the same time!) Oh, and this sounds a bit like an ad - I dont work for Meguiars. :)

Cookie, any chance you can show us a bigger picture of your Kluger? Looks good in the avatar.
  19. Thanks Cookie, thats great information. Id really like to do this gas conversion, its the closest we'd get to having a Kluger hybrid for a while. :) Ive just got to nut out the issues with Toyota.
  20. Ill ask my dealer, petrol prices are insane now. The only consolation I have for when my Kluger arrives - currently Im filling up with Premium unleaded. Lexus wont take below 94 ron. <_<
  21. Hi, Ive enquired as my KXR is on order. You need two (or really four) parts; 2 x surround bezels (this is the painted part of the bumper that replaces your black plastic rings) and 2 x driving lights. Castle Hill Toyota have quoted $65 for each bezel, and $320 for each light. All the wiring is their in the KXR, but you also need a switch installed in the cabin to turn them off and on. ANother option might be to replace the indicator stalk to one that includes the fog light setting - not sure whats involved there. I plan to get the Toyota bezels, and then look for aftermarkets lights that fit them.
  22. Thanks guys. Yeah, my dealer told me that any car with less than 5000ks on the clock is still a new car (I swear Im not making this up) Id like to hold out for a new one, I think the Green is quite rare, perhaps if I change colour we could get something sooner. (They're saying end of May for our order)
  23. Hi, you might want to check the thread I started about it; http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=14355 My understanding is that your vehicle may not be covered under the Toyota warranty. It would be worth checking with Toyota before doing it.
  24. Thanks for the replies. Ive negotiated my deal; KXR, 5 seat, with mats, cargo mat, bonnet protector, nudge bar, front and rear sensors - $41,400 Thats on an 08 model. My dealer seems to vacillate between; "Of course, the 07 model can be done cheaper for you" to; "I dont think we can discount it, Id have to check with the boss" Im prepared to take the 07 model if a serious discount (further to the existing deal) is in order. I guess im just trying to gauge what kind of 'further discount' is reasonable.
