  1. You guys that have the front sensors - can you tell me where they put the switch? In the KXR, there's a blank switch to the left of the dashboard dimmer button. Ive got parts on order to install fog lights, and need a spot to put in a switch. I have a bad feeling that the dealer is going to steal my spot. :)
  2. Leeder, I was able to create an account and login for the day. I used a friends address in California, but I dont think it really matters too much. I didnt notice a general service manual as such, it more specific information on the various systems in the car, removing panels, wiring diagrams, etc.
  3. Interesting, Ill test this when I pick my Kluger. Currently my handhled GPS and the speedo on my Lexus are in total agreement.
  4. Thats a good question. I have had someone in the States kind enough to email me a bunch of their PDFs. I was planning to join the site soon to download further material. Im surprised they even want a US billing address if you were signing up for a day? Weird. Perhaps try fudging the address and paying by credit card for a day subscription? Im not sure.
  5. Leeder this might help; https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfoPortal/ You can pay $10 for the day or even a yearly subscription. It has all the manuals that the Toyota mechanics use. Just remember to look up Highlander instead of Kluger ;)
  6. Our Kluger colour is called Olive Mica Metallic. It doesnt look very metallic. But after reading up on this, Mica isnt like your typical metallic. Metallic is usually bright silvery flakes in the paint that really show up in the sun. Mica is actually a natural pigment found in stone; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mica So I would say; yes it is metallic. But not your usual type of metallic if that makes sense.
  7. Yeah its a Sydney thing. Melbourne drivers use hand gestures! No offence intended, I was born and raised in Melbourne, and lived in Sydney for over 15 years. I still get called a Mexican up here.

    2008 kluger

Yeah. it just means there was one available in the country. Dealers do trade arounds all the time, plus i think Toyota Australia itself has its own stock levels. (not 100% sure about that) The colour and config we wanted wasnt showing up anywhere in the country. We put in an order for a new build in Feb, delivery supposed to be late may. In the end, we went with the a car available in the yard. It actually was the same colour/config that we wanted, it just had an 07 build and compliance. We ended up getting a further 2k from our first negotiated deal off the price. I pick it up this Wednesday! (I had to use that silly dancing emoticon somewhere)
  9. Hi Guys, thanks for the replies. Taka, yeah I watched a place do the install on the front facing seats too, certainly is easier than the capsules. Thanks for your tips though, Ive decided I will do the install myself, but what you said about placing a load of some sort in the seat will come in handy. Cheers, Scott.
  10. Hi Guys, I know some of you have childrens seats in your Klug. Did you fit them yourselves or get it done professionally? I had a place fit my baby seats into the Lexus, but it looked so easy, Im sure i can do it for the Kluger myself. So Taka? Aardvark? Anyone else? :)
  11. I thought I would call back and go the "I just purchased the car from you can you look after me at all on the price" and I got the new price of $455.40 + $200 install. This dealer is a joke, or they really hate me ;) Might call around. Can anyone make a recommendation for a dealer western suburbs side on Melbourne? Just to be fair, I got my sensors fitted at cost price. We had signed the contract, then my wife decided she really wanted the front sensors too. The dealer looked after us in the sense that they promised to add the sensors in at cost. Even then, there was some funny stuff going on; the first price they gave me was $550 fitted. I innocently said; "Thats funny, Castle Hill Toyota do them for $495 fitted, are you SURE this is your cost price?" They then came back with $397 My tip would be to shop at the bigger delaerships, my dealer admitted that the large dealers get better price breaks on parts cause they sell so many. My regional dealer cant compete with half of the part prices i come back with.
  12. I waved this; http://www.chtoyota.com.au/models.php?Seri...Model=5V5511025 at my dealer a couple of times, Castle Hill Toyota show their accessory prices. That list shows the clearance (front) sensors and includes fitting. So if your dealer tries to go higher, remind them that you bought your car there and would expect to be looked after. Worked for me, I got my price down from $550 (initial quote) to $397 fitted.
  13. Well, my only experience has been with the test drive. It was dry, I thought id put the foot down a little to test the engines power and responsiveness. I ended up doing a burn out on the test drive! The dealer immediately said; "did you feel the traction control kick in?" I politely said yes, but the truth is, the car only stopped spinning its wheels when i let go of the accelerator.
  14. Wow, good luck with getting 19" rims, my dealer told me it would be an additional $2500 JUST for the rims! I dont know for sure, but I think the rubber on the 19s are going to cost. AFAIK, its an unusual tyre size. (could be wrong) Just as an aside; you didnt previously have the old Kluger in black did you? There's one driving around with the number plate FREDDIE on it, and a red slash mark on the window. Freddie Kluger LOL
  15. Here it is, browser requires Java; http://www.sydneycitytoyota.com.au/Service...pagename=Webcam
  16. I dont know if its still up, but Sydney City Toyota used to have a web cam you could view, showing the entire workshop. Pretty sure your could even steer it around from memory.
  17. Good question John. My Kluger is on order, and i havent decided exactly what to put in it yet. My Lexus must have premium, and I seem to get the best bang for buck from the Caltex 95. Incidentally, my dealer told me the Kluger will take up to e20 fuel. Dont know if thats coming out soon. Taka, a forum regular here, fills up on standard unleaded and then tops up about 10 or so percent with premium (if i remember rightly) He claims he gets better economy by mixing some higher octane in.
  18. Thats alright Adrian, ive had plenty of those. :) My worst habit is posting drunk on forums... ooh... (Im only on my first beer right now) ;)
  19. Yes, 245 (or 255) is the tyre width. 55 is the distance of the tyre wall. R19 = 19"
  20. I have to say, I agree with PC XT on this. I have people sail out in front of me all the time. Making (or trying to make) eye contact with the other party helps me decide in what to do next. If someone is approaching a turn fairly fast, but they have their indicator on AND are looking at me, I feel confident to pull out in front of them. Some people of course, just drive up the road with their indicator on...
  21. Boleh, I placed a call to a supplier today. Im waiting for them to get back to me on the dimensions of their lights. The latest Ive read on the American forum is that the 07 Camry and 07 Yaris sedan lights are the same light. They are both supposed to fit the bezels on the new Kluger. Ill let you know when I find out more, i plan to install fogs onto my KXR in the next few weeks.
  22. Dont be sorry Taka, its an interesing read!
