Fuel economy on large trip >1500km
steinny72 replied to jaderd's topic in Corolla / Corolla Sportivo Club
i must say the car really surprised me with fuel economy - i drive it very very hard and still get 9l per 100 ks or so (using 98 octane) its strange as when ur at 100 km/h the revs are (correct me if im wrong) about 3800rpm which is seemingly high for a car with a 6th gear .... one would think ur chugging down petrol with those kind of constant revs but the results prove this to be inaccurate -
i believe it is 45km+ "There are licence suspension periods, similar to the minimum disqualification periods applied by a court, for exceeding the speed limit by more than 30 km/h (3 months), and by more than 45 km/h (6 months). If police catch you speeding by more than 45km/h over the limit you may have your licence immediately suspended and confiscated at the roadside for 6 months." http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/rulesregulations...s/speeding.html 30 km over you will loose it for 3 months, but not on the spot ... (a friend of mind got caught, took 6 months too actually loose his licence)

I'm with AAMI (19 year old, green P Plater - insurance is about $1250 with me as primary driver) I put in a CAI, but rang them up before and asked, they said its not an issue - and added it to my policy (with AAMI they let you have 2 free modifications before you might have to pay for additional ones) it all depends on the insurer

steinny72 replied to themoneysh0t's topic in Club Lounge
1zz corolla will hit 185ish (maybe more, also depends on mod's etc) 2zz corolla will hit 210ish (maybe more, also depends on mod's etc) that’s from personal experience :) but only in a legal setting such as track etc:) -

try driving a cl600, 5.5 litre V12 Bi-Turbo - 368 kw 800 nm torque then u can talk about ****ting your pants. I got in - (family friends car) and put foot flat ............... sh*tttttttttttt this thing fliess, like 4.8 secs to 100 in a car that weighs like 2 T, incredible Soon hopefully ill be privileged to drive his new baby - CL 65 AMG 6litre V12 450kW and 1000 nm torque this will be an experience of a lifetime -
The prob i s- if u don’t have the recycle button on - whilst driving in traffic / city - u get all the fumes and odours coming straight into the car. I personally never turn off the C button - but again depends on where you live and what your driving conditions are;

def a Bargain!! congrats

I’ve got a 03 sportivo - and never experienced this. It was 38 degrees a few days back and i had air con on 24 AUTO - it blows hard till it gets to the temp then puts it lower / maintaining temp. I live it 'the city' and have lots of frequent stops / traffic lights and the air con (which i have on 99.9% of the time) has never 'warmed up' whilst waiting at lights Obviously the hotter it is the harder the air con has to work - lengthening the time it takes to cool down the car - but once cool, it def shouldn’t start to warm up Try not using the Auto mode - leave it on say 22.5 and see if that happens (with blowers on say 3/5 bars etc) your car will still be under warranty - so maybe take it to Toyota to check??
