  1. I don't understand how the windscreen washer gets involved too.
  2. I got mine off ebay for $480 incl. postage. Can't find a link to the one I got though. You can see a pic of it if you delve through the Member Rides forum. It's in my post.
  3. I'm probably one of the few people here that can speak from experience with these china DVD headunits and my advice is... They're ok. Don't let these guys scare you too much. It really comes down to buying the "right" chinese unit. Mine is similar to the one you linked. I've had no problems at all and i'd actually recommend it to anyone else (if i could find an ebay link to the exact seller that i got mine from). Taking out the stock headunit is easy. Wiring the new one is tricky, you may have to take it to autobarn or something and pay $80 to get it put in.
  4. lol the price of a TRD flywheel will get you a full turbo setup! and the price per piston... thank god it's only a 4 cylinder! seriously speaking, for that kind of money, you are really only buying the brand name.
  5. same here. play while driving = win for passengers.
  6. They must have really forced the stick into first because at that speed, the shifter should have been knocking you back from slotting it into first.
  7. I don't think that will look good, but what you might consider is getting 225/40/18 rear and 225/35/18 front
  8. hey thanks :) yea i got the levin zr because the other grades didn't offer the option. exhaust did used to drone a lot uphill under load, but i recently put in 2 hotdogs and it's perrrrfect now.
  9. the things is that i don't want to lower my car just by changing the springs, as that is the cheap way and will eventually wear out the stock shock faster. i lower by spring & shock combo, but I will need to splash a grand on that. right now i'm splashing cash on my RC nitro car :) I'll have pics of that up soon, it's an RX-8.
  10. yea, but i kind of like a soft ride as this is my daily use car. The HU was $500ish + $50 installed. You don't really need to ask if it's double din because it's pretty clear in the photo that it is... :P
  11. yea i've seen a few in the carpark at work. it's the really light blue right?
  12. imagine blowing through a straw. now add a curly straw on the end of the other straw. I think you may be losing high-end power.
  13. man you need to remove your stock muffler. your exhaust system is more restrictive than stock right now.
  14. Aur15 is correct, the cat is under the dash, then you have the muffler pretty much in the middle of the car under behind the handbrake and then the resonator.
  15. to an extent, yes you are right. however, without human life, there would be nothing for the government to govern.
  16. It's been so long since i did my exhaust, I can't remember what stock sounds like...
  17. I've got the optitron combimeter, maybe it's just me but I prefer the look of the white dials. However, the fuel consumption, air temperature, time, date etc display I like very much.
  18. haha that was definitely me :) that's my morning route to work. T2 lane is awesome, lucky for me that I drop my girlfriend off on the way. I'm sorry I didn't see you though.
  19. I just got a couple of hotdogs put into my system. For a year I had, 2.5" cat-back with a Xforce S12 twinloop. Since I was going on a road trip this weekend and the car was gonna be loaded, I anticipated that it was going to drone like it did on my drive to Sydney. The 2 extra resonators really REALLY make a difference. Each one is 12" long and 2.5" through so it doesn't affect the flow. The sound is perfect now, just a bit louder than stock and MINIMAL drone. best $150 I've spent. I've had all my exhaust done by Brian at Roadrunner Exhausts in Heidelberg West, Melbourne. X-Force S12 twinloop = $180 (From Ebay) 2.5" cat-back mild steel press bends = $250 (or was it $200, can't remember now) 2x Supercat 12" resonators = $150 Total = $580 And he's quoted me $400 to do some aftermarket extractors, which I will take him up on next month.
  20. if you leave your air con setting to fresh air, rather than recirculate, then you will always have this smell when driving in traffic. It's the lack of an active carbon filter.
  21. Pfft fan turning on. why do you bother to post that rubbish. My dad's ageing lexus recently had the same problem. BK is right, it was a cracked engine mount. The rpm's would drop below 500 and the car would start to shake, but as soon as they were above 1k it would be fine.
  22. you're not getting confused with torque steering are you?
  23. I'd recommend giving CES a call for CAI.
