  1. A shoutout to Mick and Northy: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
  2. Hey mate. You should go check out the Aurion forums. You will find many threads there about different wheels. There is even an FAQ which details the stock wheel information:
  3. Ours was short lived. Just some heavy winds and rain.
  4. One reason why I love what Brisbane has to offer in terms of driving roads.
  5. That's the way I see it. Though I've been known to floor it at yellow lights so my perspective is a bit pointless. I'm glad they don't put speed cameras at intersections like some places I've seen interstate. Regardless, the general rule is that when it turns yellow, if safe to stop, you should stop. Whether or not this gets enforced is entirely up to the officer that is having a bad day.
  6. Nothing much. Just drove it around. Did use it to scare some old bat in a Merc though. I was in the right lane stuck behind traffic that wasn't really moving ahead. This b**** then started tailing me and flashing her headlights. It's not like I could move anywhere so I was getting quite annoyed with this. When there was a gap in the left lane, I moved there and went forward enough so she could move behind me and in line with the car that was previously in front of me slowing me down. I saw her starring to her right at that driver and then at that time, I applied my brakes. I could see her getting closer and closer... really close. I then saw her look forward again and see that she was probably going to hit me. She slammed on her brakes and looked like she was going to have a heart attack. I gave her the finger then accelerated off. She seemed to back off quite a bit after that.
  7. Just a minor update on what is going on. It looks like I won't be getting my new suspension until after I go to QR. I went to Toyota today to order the parts and it seems that they have none left and have it on back-order. Oh well, at least I can get a baseline time to work off when I go to QR. Also waiting for GSL Rallysports to open up again tomorrow so I can get my new brake pads. Will keep you updated.
  8. I think I better jump in on this discussion so it doesn't get out of hand. When it comes to King springs for the Aurion... there is no 'Super Low' option. That said, the 'low' springs you put in the Aurion are actually Kings Super Lows for the Gen 4 Camry. It just happens to turn out that Super Low Gen 4 Camry springs fit the Aurion and they consider it's drop to be low and not super low. Just so you know, the 'low' springs Rowan has in his Aurion are in fact the Gen 4 Super Lows.
  9. That's correct as the HID lamp is then held in with clips... however, these can not be unclipped until the igniter is removed... by twisting anti-clockwise.

    Photoshop!!!!

TWO WORDS on this one: F*** YEAH!!! Holy S*** I gave up on this tread a while back and decided to look again. Damn it spillige. Now I want that look so bad. Removing the Toyota badge in a Photoshop mock-up didn't look do great on Lee's Aurion, but for some reason fits the Sportivo. Blending in that rear skirt works well too.
  11. Yeah. Saving sucks in a way, but it's one of those things you should really do. I can agree with you there though. I like to just think of ways to spend my paycheck when I get it. Mostly it always goes towards the car. But then again, once I pay for bills, fuel, etc, it doesn't leave much for the spendings fund. When I see it like that, I then realise that it would be better off going into savings. It's reasons like this that I don't get new wheels for my car or lower it etc, etc. I'm not the best when it comes to saving money, but after a 2 month period of no work, I learnt that I need to save what I earn and keep it as reserve just in case. Damn Commonwealth Dollarmites taught me nothing about savings.
  12. I washed her after letting her sit dirty in the garage for a week, then took her for some nice cruisy driving. ... Also learnt that my GPS speed is accurate. Wasn't thinking clearly when I drove past a Highway Patrol while the cop was standing outside with his LIDAR aimed at me. It was around a bend so you can't see him till it's too late. By the time I saw him aimed at my car, I noticed my speedo was on 90km/h in an 80 zone. I didn't slow down or anything, just stayed on that speed. Then glanced at my GPS and it said 83km/h.
  13. I'm pretty much free any time this week.... just not tomorrow until after midday.
  14. Well... depending on how sensitive your hands/feet are, you can actually feel the ABS actuator doing its quick test in some cases. Maybe I'm weird, but I can feel when mine does that test as I drive out of my street. On a side note, I've had multiple occasions when reversing out of my garage, I've accelerated a little then applied the brakes to show down at the top. In that process, I've had the ABS do it's self test with my foot on the brake. It ends up making the weirdest sound/feeling. Kind of like a spring being flicked under tension.
  15. Yeah, I could check it out for you. Should only take a few minutes to find the source of your problems. Yeah. If your remote trigger in your amp is permanently stuck on, you can put a circuit breaker in line and then turn it off manually. ... But that is just a hassle. In that scenario, I can do one of two things: 1) Put a high power relay in-line and have it triggered from your ACC power, or 2) Open up your amp and just replace the relay if it is at fault. Not a hard thing to do, and makes it like new again. Then you don't need to touch a single switch when you turn your car off.
  16. I guess I better get started:
  17. If this is all correct, then 'alpine_vs_sportivo' hasn't done himself any good by saying things such as:
  18. Damn, my last 2 major services there have cost me around $200 with me providing my own oil and turning down their wheel alignment.
  19. Sure thing. I must admit, I am happy about their availability. When I called other service centres, they said they will need to book it in at a time at least 1 week later. I called Southside and they said I can take it in first thing in the morning. On one occasion, I called at 10am and they said if I drop it off any time after 4pm, I can get it serviced before they close at midnight. I dropped it in at 4pm and it was ready for me to head to a meet at 7pm. Those that mentioned service being pricey may not have the Service Advantage (first 4 services up to 60,000km for $120).
  20. Maybe your hands and wrists aren't flexible enough I'd be happy to do this procedure on a Gen 6 Camry around the Brisbane area to prove it can be done :P
  21. HID lamps with a D2/D4 base come off from the socket or igniter (depending on setup) with a twisting motion. You twist the igniter anti-clockwise then pull to take the lamp off it.
  22. If I was to recommend a dealer, I would have to say Southside at Wooloongabba as well. After having a bad experience at Sci-Fleet Taringa, Southside has taken care of my Toyota nicely.
  23. Wow! You can really see just how low it sits eh. Much different when you put it into perspective.
  24. Better a squashed mouse than a girly horn. My horn is so girly, even my brother's Focus horn is more manly than mine. Can't be as bad as a Mazda 3 horn. Sounds like a clown horn.
  25. It's not listed on the Mighty Car Mods website so I'm guessing some random has done this for a joke. That said, I could also imagine them selling it though since they have no use for it anymore.
