  1. When drilling holes like that, it's useful to use masking tape. That way you can measure everything, put some markings down, then remeasure it to make sure it's all even.
  2. Well if it doesn't come back, I wouldn't get concerned. Maybe just something to mention on your next service. If it does come back on again, I'd consider maybe letting Toyota know just in case. As for the check engine light coming on, the pattern is like this: When the check engine light comes on (a non VSC/TC error), the VSC/TC lights tend to come on regardless for some reason. However, if there is an issue with the VSC/TC system, these lights can come on without the check engine light coming on.
  3. The loop probably would be easy for the early meet up as well, hey Gav. 7:30pm sounds like a nice time to plan for dinner. That sounds like a good idea as well. I like parking in front of there. You get more people looking at your car.... I'm like that.
  4. Three words. Tein Super Street
  5. Toyota Link is a service offered by Toyota on their Presara grade of the Aurion that utilises the mobile telephone network (GSM), and the Global Positioning System (GPS). Instead of giving a half-decent answer, it's probably best to direct you here: Toyota Link
  6. It's all just joking around. I am a bit lazy. I could progressively upgrade it as in do the springs then change the shocks, but with my driving, the stock shocks will only last a very short period (and considering they have gone through 70,000km already). Then I would need to take everything out again, and waste more time. On top of that, doing it that will will involve two wheel alignments. Long story short, I'm not changing the springs till I can do the shocks. This means I'll need more money to play around with since I'm not going the same way as everyone else here. On a side note, stuff you Ash. You didn't have to change the springs in your TRD as it already sits lower. Not fair.
  7. Grrr. Why must I be pressured so much? The only reason why I'm taking so long is that I plan to do it right the first time, and that means spending something like $1500 to get the right suspension. I'm trying not to spend much on my car these days. With my car as it is, I'd gladly go against one of you lowered Aurion's at QR and see what you can really do.
  8. I didn't head out last night. I'm going to wait till the one in July I think. I should have some new tires by then definitely.
  9. That sounds like a plan to me. Up to you guys where you want to eat... and at what time you want to meet up. Just putting it out there that Fasta Pasta Annerley is 10 mins away from Milton Maccas. I'd say we have plenty of time to spare to go to the loop afterwards. I'll keep you updated.
  10. Thread has been updated. Thank you 1972rainman. On a side note, I've been meaning to update the FAQ. I'll work on updating it over the next couple of days while I peruse the forum.
  11. I shall say the same here as well. Bit later than everyone else, but I was close to midnight on Facebook. Anyways, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAV!!!
  12. You need to put some good LED's in there. I have left LED interior lights on for more than 24 hours and it barely uses any power. But it's good to hear that at least someone here is making use of the Toyotalink service. I seriously wonder how busy/quiet their call centre is.
  13. I'd be fine with pasta. My favourite food so I don't mind having it two Thursday's in a row :D As for suggestions, I'm not of much use. If you were to ask me, I'd say Fasta Pasta at Annerley. Always lots of room, and lots of undercover parking.
  14. Without going out and taking another photo, this is the closest I've got. (was taking a photo of rear sway bar): That's a genuine TRD exhaust built for the Camry V6, but not the one the Australian TRD Aurion uses. See in the States, you can buy TRD branded parts from dealers with relative ease. They can even fit them and provide warranty. Their parts list is a bit restrictive in some things though. That TRD exhaust is said to just be Borla mufflers tied in with some really neat cat-back pipe work. They do look extremely neat however and reasonably priced. Only problem is, if you wanted it shipped here, it would be a bit pricey or quite a delay.
  15. Thanks Kia Kaha for the teasing :P Since you asked: 4 inch double wall tips (Twin Oval Varex)
  16. That sounds like a plan to me. I'm find with the time. Can Chris and Carly pick you up? i thought we werent doing it this week bren said next or the one after...........................?????? cris and carly arent togeather anymore i dont think and i havnt heard or seen carly for ages Different occasion. Gav, as he worded it, will be "aging an entire year over night". I can give you a lift Rowan if you want to join.
  17. Good point. Didn't really think of that. It's just the way I swapped it. Then after that drive, you should take out a 10mm spanner/socket and remove the snorkel bit in front of that vacuum actuator (the part that leads up to above the radiator). Then you will be left with something like this (LOL; I must have been messing around a bit cause the pipes are swapped around in this photo): THEN go for a drive and hear the difference. You'd be surprised. It may be sucking in warmer air, but the purpose of this exercise was to make you re-think about changing that scoop to something a bit less restrictive.
  18. I always try and avoid ordering overseas products like that locally. It avoids that issue mentioned above, plus you can usually find it cheaper due to various specials from online stores. I hate dealing with a middle-man. On a side note, if someone here was thinking about spending that much on the N&N SRI, go for the Fujita CAI instead. It may work out cheaper, plus it sounds meaner and scoops up cooler air.
  19. Questions like these are usually hard to answer. Some things are always new for others and you never know if you can do it unless you try. For example, sera709 didn't think he could install his head unit by himself, but he gave it a go and was able to do it. I would say the HID kit is between basic and intermediate to install. It's literally just plug and play. The hardest part is to find where to mount the ballast. That is all really. I guess you could obtain the kit, try to see if you may be able to fit it, and if not, find someone who can.
  20. That is correct. The vacuum butterfly is connected directly to the non-return vacuum tank on the air box, and the other pipe is looped around on the vacuum switching valve. As mentioned, this hose is looped around only to prevent it from getting dirty inside. The hoses are switched around... BUT that depends on which way you look at it. Think about it. Regardless, that doesn't matter as they are all the same. You can change it with any other vacuum hose if you wish and it would still work. I don't see how it can affect the temperature gauge as it has absolutely nothing to do with it.
  21. No worries. I'll just bring my screwdriver and a 10mm. No need to go all fancy on us now.
  22. Yes the vacuum switching valve is disconnected, but there is no need for it now that the intake valve is always held open. You should go back to the first page and do a bit of reading into it.
  23. I'll just add my input... my opinions still remain the same: Brand wise, they are all basically the same. Don't fall for HID retrofit kits that are branded Bosch, Philips, Osram, simply because they are most likely just going to rip you off. If you wanted to buy a kit locally, chances are they are going to charge you at least $150, for a fancy looking kit that you can get off eBay for half the price. You're best buying online.
  24. No i didn't mate, Do you have any instructions to swap the Vacum hose? what does it involve? Cheers mate I have a picture back there on the first page. Just try and replicate what you see:
  25. I don't have a Corolla, but I am pretty sure you would have H7 bulbs. For HID retrofits, I never recommend brand names. Cheap eBay kits do the trick for me, regardless of what others say.
