  1. Yeah mate. Seeing it in person is a completely different perspective. I have a much higher appreciation for the styling potential of the AT-X. The sleek lines on it flow so nicely, especially without the spoiler. And that audio setup is out of this world. It pumps out insane volume with such clarity and it doesn't hurt your ears like a system that is only loud for the sake of being loud.
  2. I think there can be a difference between thrashing a car and driving it hard. Not saying my car is bad, but it's not the type of car that you can appreciate the 'softness' of (thanks to it's many creaks and rattles). It feels more at home when it is actually doing some work.
  3. Normal hey? My poor Aurion. It sees redline like 12-20 times a day.

You should do some research for yourself and call up some dealers over here. A guy by the name of AurionGTRD in Kuwait did that: Sportivo body skirts on Grande?
  5. Pretty sneaky huh. That would suck to get busted that way. Yeah, the lag is chronic. My issues are when I need it to drop down in gear. Half the time when I'm giving my car a good run with others, I end up leaving it in 3rd or 4th and keeping the revs high. I swear I'd be the first one to show signs of transmission issues with the Aurion.
  6. but twice as likely to have a single vehicle accident.... I was going to say. The power poles don't leave the road at night.
  7. Each to their own. I guess that's how you roll now eh. I prefer the cruises with the more nimble cars. Mountain runs are sure the way to go instead of highway runs. I'm sure Drew would agree with me on that one. You should try to tag along in one of those ones sometime... if you can keep up. :P :P :P
  8. The best way to look at this is to look at it from a basic point of view. When you jump start a car, essentially you are connecting power from an already started car (most jump-start scenarios), to a car with a flat battery. It's just about the same as getting a brand new battery and putting it in the car that has the flat one. The on-board electronics don't see this any differently. As long as you clamp the clips on quick enough and don't do it in a fashion that causes sparks everywhere (leads to spikes in the power), you will be fine. The tip to connect the negative to the engine of the car being jump started it to prevent sparks in the vicinity of the battery which can sometimes have some flammable gas floating around it.
  9. Wouldn't have a clue. I'm never really too fussed about enquiring about products I don't plan on getting any time soon. I like to be helpful, but I can also be pretty lazy myself. Best to ring KYB direct.
  10. Judging by the fact that it is only for the Sportivo's, I would say that it is just a difference in ride stiffness since the the AT-X/Prodigy/Presara are softer, and TRD would be different as well. There would be no difference in fitment between say shocks on the AT-X vs the Sportivo. It's only the ride quality. Maybe the Sportivo shock was more simple for them to replicate.
  11. Hey Lee (hopefully correct spelling). You would think Monroe would at least have a replacement by now, but I guess they don't since it's not listed in their '2010 catalogue'. So far as you've heard, KYB appear to be the only aftermarket shocks available. On their site they have it listed as 'Excel-G Twin Tube Gas Shock' which is only available for the Aurion SX6 & ZR6. The other grades do not have a replacement on offer. I don't see what harm it would do though to use the equivalent Sportivo shock. The part numbers are: Front Left - 339107 Front Right - 339106 Rear Left - 339109 Rear Right - 339108 In terms of whether it is suitable for lowered cars, it doesn't specifically say on their site so it may be best to contact KYB directly. If it's anything like the Monroe shocks in terms of usability, they should have the ability to operate with either Raised/Standard/Lowered heights, but usually only give something like 15mm maximum deviation from standard. Otherwise you could do what I was looking into earlier and that is hacking up the sealed strut assembly and fitting aftermarket shock cartridges. Bit of a mess that option though.
  12. Thanks for that mate. I've got that warm fuzzy feeling inside. Wicked photos as well.
  13. To the OP, I would highly recommend that you DO NOT follow this procedure, basically as advised in that last sentence. If you want to disable your seat-belt warning chime, take it into Toyota and ask them to turn this feature off. It can be done via the ECU, just bear in mind that if you ever disconnect your battery, it will restore back to default which is on. In cars equipped with airbags, the seat-belt buckle switch is tied in with the SRS system. Tampering with this is essentially the same as tampering with the SRS system which can either reduce it's effectiveness and/or invalidate warranty/insurance in a worst-case scenario.
  14. Not at that price. My current membership with RACQ is way less than that. If my Toyota Link subscription expired, I'd just move to RACQ (or similar), then pop a pre-paid sim card into the Toyota Link unit to receive calls direct to the car.
  15. Turbo does sound nice, but each to their own really. This is what I want to hear: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  16. I think yours may need to be posted to you. I recall that no-one from WA was able to make it to the meet last weekend.
  17. Interesting story that one. I'll tell ya later.
  18. 8 will be fine. I am leaving around 8:30pm so it makes it nice and easy.
  19. i can meet u tonight somewhere if u want like sumner park? Sounds good. Just a time and place and I can be there.
  20. BTW. I've got your shirt Rowan. Figure something out and I'll get it to you.
  21. I'm out tonight as I have already made plans to catch up with people. I've got an exclusion from being soft. [comeback]I didn't see your car at the Annual Meet Evo.[/comeback]
  22. Everyone has different opinions. I personally haven't seen what they can do so I can't comment. The tread pattern on the Adrenalin's look a little more promising, but like I said, I can't really judge that. I did come across one review though, being in mind it is a personal opinion:
  23. On a side note, those are not the Potenza Adrenalin RE001's that we are discussing here. Those ones you linked to are the RE050A.
  24. Can't say anything bad about one night of having fun. Mick's Yaris needed to be initiated into the group... that's all.
  25. No smoke, just a light skid mark for a fairly decent length. Still soft Was the longest skid mark there, until I left one
