  1. Gotta love English, so many ways to interpret things. For the N/A Aurion, it takes some pretty serious thrashing to get it up to really high levels. To get it up to the 16L/100km mark for example, you'd need to be doing a hard paced Nebo run, and that's mainly just an average for that time. I'm managed to use one tank of fuel on two Nebo run, a Coot-tha run, and my everyday hoon driving in general, and my tank average was 13.5L/100km. I'm guessing the TRD uses up WAY more fuel because of the fact that there is no intercooling and it loves to run rich, because with that much fuel usage, you'd expect a little more power. I've managed to get one tank average down to 9L/100km though so it can be pretty fuel efficient if you try. It was a tough week and I had to make my fuel last. Under normal conditions, that's not happening again. This 1700km trip to Melbourne will be monitored and I'll be posting back with the results.
  2. Sometimes you can experience slightly more wear towards the side that has the most weight if your car usually only has you in it. This is only minor wear though and shouldn't be that extreme. The most common cause of uneven wear like that is that your drivers side calliper may not be sliding as freely as the passenger side. You said you checked to see that everything is sliding fine though, so this leaves one more possible cause. When was the last time you bled your brakes? If there is uneven pressure in the system (passenger side receiving less than the drivers side), you can get un-even wear like that. I would personally just change your brake pads, fully bleed your brakes, make sure everything is well lubricated, then keep an eye on it from there.

    JOKES !!!!

Mark, attended his 4 wheel drive clubs monthly meeting and had just told them he couldn't make the upcoming annual Innamincka trip because his missus wouldn't let him go. After copping "the under the thumb remarks and other derisive remarks" Mark left to go back home to the missus. Later when Mark's mates started arriving to set up camp at Innamincka common the following week, who should be there but Mark sitting up in front of the Cooper, swag rolled out, fishing rod in hand, and the camp oven roast stewing away in a hot bed of Coolabah coals. "Geez how did ya talk ya missus into letting you come here Mark?" they asked "I didn't have to," was Mark's reply, "When I left the meeting last week I went home disappointed and slumped down in my chair with a beer to drown my sorrows. Suddenly the missus snuck up behind me and covered my eyes and said, 'Surprise'. "When I peeled her hands back there she was standing there in a beautiful see through negligee and she said, 'Carry me into the bedroom and tie me to the bed and you can do what ever you want." SO HERE I AM
  4. You can remove the shift knob by unscrewing it, it will take about 20 turns or there abouts. After about 12 turns it should get to the point where you can 'flick' it and it will sin till the end then you just lift it off. Maybe yours may be a bit threaded on the inside. Try rotating it anti-clockwise while pulling up gently. AS I said, it will take a fair few turns. The shift lever on the other hand won't come off unless you pull the sifter assembly apart.
  5. Yeah, we're going via the Newell Highway which will is through the country. It's a more direct route and will get us there quicker.
  6. You would think that would be the case (ie. no boost until required), but even when driven sedately, the TRD will still use up more fuel (even by a small amount), getting closer to the efficiency of the N/A Aurion when going on the highway. I believe the TRD is always running some boost and only bypasses this when it is cruising on the highway. This is so when you drive it around start/stop, you get that little bit of extra torque down real low. But in a way, as long as you drive it sedately, it will remain pretty fuel efficient.
  7. 8. One step ahead of you B) You think you're excited. Think about Mick and I who get to start our drive today.
  9. Damn, look what you've done. Now I really want the Initial D Drift wheels for mine.
  10. It's all here mate: TOCAU ANNUAL MEET, JUNE 6-8 2009
  11. If you are downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, do you get any grinding sound? If so, that is a sign that your synchro may possibly be a bit sick.
  12. The engine oil light indicates either that your oil is low or that it is not pumping with sufficient pressure. As you have checked your levels and noticed it is fine, then this would most likely be a pressure related issue. This is also indicated by the fact that when your engine is revving higher, the light disappears. Common problems are that you have an issue with your pump, there is a blockage somewhere in the system, or that the viscosity of the oil in your engine is incorrect. I wouldn't keep driving it until you have it checked up as this can mean that not enough oil is being pumped around your engine and can cause damage.
  13. As funny as it sounds, the thought has crossed my mind Up until I leave tomorrow, the inside will remain lined in newspaper. I've very picky about my car. I'll have to remember to do that tomorrow morning. Oooh... I can't wait to see.
  14. Warm oil flows more easily than cold oil. By having the oil warm, you can not only drain it quicker, but you would be more likely to drain more oil out of the sump. There is a chance you may burn yourself, but the key is to take care. I usually loosen it enough to make the oil start running down the plug, then use a long screwdriver to tap the corner of the sump plug till it eventually drops off.

    S.o.O 2009

LOL. Great prediction. I was already laughing at anyone who was supporting NSW. Now I see this and my jaw hurts. QUEENSLANDER!!!
  16. That would have been pretty fun. Just imagine explaining what they were going to do to the shopping centre administration. The cleaners would have had a fun time as well. LOL when Jeremy stops outside the British Home Stores for a second while the Corvette gets stuck.
  17. That what I would have liked for my Aurion. I think we should shift this discussion to another thread. Don't mean to be rude, but we're kind of steering off the track of the main purpose of this thread.
  18. Hey mate. You're not too far away being in the Indro area. mick.wheelz and I usually turn up most of the time and he is from Taringa, and I'm just down the highway in Sinnamon Park. The scene is mainly just a bunch of guys standing around in an open carpark just having a chat. We're all a friendly bunch and very welcoming. Not too much in terms of atmosphere, but it's something to do at the end of the day and it's always good to catch up on things/see new additions to cars etc. You definitely should stop over sometime. We usually meet up every week and the numbers generally vary from a few people to a bit over a dozen. Usually you'll find about half a dozen of us there though every week. I get a feeling there there may not be too many people out tomorrow night, with the National Meet coming up from the following day, but you never know. Mick and I definitely won't be there. By 9pm we expect to be around Goondiwindi. I'll definitely be there on the 11th though.
  19. Damn. That is some insane parts you've got there. I can't wait to see it all go together.
  20. That's pretty wicked. Now just make it smaller and quieter and you will have a perfect spy plane.
  21. Yeah. You definitely need to take many photos from different angles and with the sun shining on it from different directions. It certainly is a unique finish and needs to be seen in person to see what it's really like. Most of those photos show it's blue colour a little stronger. It looks really nice when you see more green as well:
  22. Yay, just one more sleep and Mick and I will be on the road to Melbourne. It all starts in 22 hours for us. This impatience is killing me. Well the car is nice and waxed up so I can clean it with ease when we get there. The bird agrees: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  23. Yeah, I saw those the other day. Didn't feel like sharing it though because they look like they would have a really crap fit. Just look at the part where there is that bump in the headlights.
  24. Green FTW. I actually love this effect. Would only work on a green Aurion though. Link: Some pIcs of My Green CamRy (Page 4)
  25. Actually, Rowan gave a good suggestion and that's to use chopping boards. They last a little longer. But then again, Macca's trays are free.
