A ringer from a huge cattle station in outback Australia appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. "Have you ever done anything of particular merit?" St. Peter asked. "Well, I can think of one thing," the ringer offered. "Once, on a trip to the backblocks of Broken Hill out in New South Wales, I came across a gang of bikies, who were threatening a young Sheila. I told them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen. So, I approached the largest and most heavily tattooed bikie and smacked him in his face, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground. I yelled, "Now, back off!! Or I'll kick the s*** out of the lot of ya’s!" St. Peter was impressed, "When did this happen?" He asked. "Just a couple minutes ago..."

Price range and recommendations for quiet tyres
DJKOR replied to DUB's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
Yeah it's a little bit of a boat and it is a family car, but with the right bolt-ons and decent tires, it's surprisingly good. -
The new Corolla's use the 2ZR-FE which doesn't quite go hard like the old 2ZZ-GE in the Sportivo. The effects of people wanting a better environment.

Extra points if you manage to pull a fully sick skid that's better than Northy. I'll listen for the buzzing then. -
So that was you taking the photos:

Exactly the same drivetrain including the U660E gearbox. Only cosmetic differences. This is the reason why we can use the US Gen 6 Camry service manual when referring to our Aurion.

2 things: Thudd when taking off and Tyre Change
DJKOR replied to o12lando's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
Once upon a time when I was new to the forum, that sound kind of puzzled me as well. Weird Sound in the back Yeah the ABS test happens just after taking off but only for the first time. It tests the system once and you hear a clunk or dull tap from all four points. Not sure if this is the noise though. Does it happen everytime you stop and then start or just the first time once you've just started the car ? -
It's a 2009 Camry SE V6. Exactly like the Aurion, just in the Camry body. From the sounds of it (as in listening to it run down the strip), he is running the stock exhaust with only that front y-pipe changed. Also as well, he mentioned that he accidentally left the A/C on that run, and this is during the day in Houston so temperatures aren't quite the coldest. This means if he can pull these times, I've (we've) got some work to do.

Did someone here an echo? Most useless spambot ever.

00UCH what a Aurion!!!! Quick Update 19/1/11 now F/S :(

Looking good mate. Definitely making your Aurion a one of a kind. I'm a bit in-between with the rims though, but like you said, it's how you feel about it. -

I'll be out. Probably only need one layer of clothing as well. -
He didn't say before hand so we were starting to think his car was stock. I guess not:

I'm in Queensland mate. Yeah, speeding countermeasures would be nice considering I have to take it real easy for the next year, LOL. It's the camera that makes it look really blue. It is much whiter in person. So much so, I'm planning on swapping the bulbs for 10,000k ones. Yeah, close enough mate. It's that place over the 'bridge to nowhere' (as I call it) which is on the left of Kingsford Smith Drive past the BP refinery. I have now given up on that site as it just doesn't work for me. I'm sure that the colour of your car would suit it best, and together your better camera, you can get some good shots. I paid less than $20,000 and that was including the buyer admin fees. If you read the history of my car though, you will notice that it was a repairable write-off, so my price isn't the best indication (even though the RWO cars were selling for quite a bit). Also as well, people get pretty stupid at auctions and sometimes end up paying more than what they can get it for outside of there. So many variables that can affect the price. Always worth a shot though.

I wish I could help out with this one, but I would say that if you are good with electronics, you could have a look at the wiring going to the rear blind and you may find a wire there that goes to ground (or to +12v) only when the car is put into reverse. I would guess that it would be as simple as breaking the connection in this wire. Without the service manual or a test car to have a look at, I can't tell you which wire unfortunately.

Hey Rowan. This guy apparently still had the spare in his boot together with other random crap in the car. Looks like we have some work to do: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!

Price range and recommendations for quiet tyres
DJKOR replied to DUB's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
If you plan on going for 20 inch wheels, this will also restrict your choice for tires. Tires for theses wheels aren't going to be cheap and for something quiet, expect to pay something like $600 a corner I would say. When Elgin had his TRD, he got himself some Potenza Adrenalins for cheaper than that (approx $450 a corner). Not only did he get better grip, he also reckons they were quieter than the Dunlops. -
whats the treadwear, traction, temperature rating for the Potenza Adrenlin? any other changes like tyre dimensions or wheel? Sorry, I got your PM before I saw this thread. Some of us were at the National Meet so cut me a little slack on the reply timeframe :P I'll post it again here for others to see anyways. For the Potenza Adreanalin: Treadwear 220 Traction A Temperature A It's important to note that when comparing treadwear numbers, it only really makes sense to compare with other tires under the same brand as each manufacturer can run by their own separate standards for their numbering. In other words, one brand of tire may have a treadwear of 300, but wear faster than another brand of tire with a treadwear of 200. When I changed to the Adrenalin, I could swear the tire looked much larger than the Michelin Energy MXV8 that I had on before hand. Either way, these tires served me well. I've nearly worn them out (1mm from treadwear indicator) and I've only travelled 20,000km on them (bearing in mind that the last 3,800km was spent on a drive to and from Melbourne). If you get these tires, you just have to restrain yourself from pushing the limits of your car all the time otherwise you'll wear them out like I did. I expect under normal everyday driving conditions that these tires will last more than 35,000km. I miss the day when they were new and looked like this: I was considering going up in width to that size but I was more concerned about the tires looking overly fat on the rims. You wouldn't happen to have a picture of what they look like on your car would you?

You have asked this question all over the place mate, including a PM to myself. I will only answer this once. I can only comment for the Aussie market as I don't know what goes on overseas. As the Aurion Sportivo grill is a factory part for the Aurion Sportivo, the only place you will find it new over here is directly from a Toyota Dealer here in Australia. I'm pretty sure you will be looking at about AUD$200+ for it. There are no aftermaket Sportivo grills for the Aurion as it's not something worth manufacturing given the market here. If there are any overseas markets that have the Aurion (or Aurion styled Camry) and have a spec equivalent to the Sportivo, then I would say that you can get a grill from there as well. The only way you can get one second hand is if you manage to find someone here that is willing to part with theirs after fitting an aftermarket grill. I don't think anyone has been willing to part with theirs yet for a decent price.

The photos are looking great. Keep them coming. I can't believe I have only slept for like 2 hours since 9am on Monday. While in the car this morning, I couldn't wait to get to sleep, then when I got here, I couldn't even sleep. The meet was really great as well. It was really good to be able to put a face to the name/car and everyone is such a friendly bunch. I must say, as much as I was over the cold weather there in Melbourne, I kind of felt a little down when it was time to drive out in the afternoon yesterday. I felt like I wanted to stay there a little longer. I didn't really get many photos on my camera. Mick was the one doing all that. I'm waiting for him to upload some. I just got a couple of random ones. Well we found it funny anyway: We thought about stopping at places along the way to post photos, so this was the first stop. Internet reception wasn't so great so we gave up: 2:19am on the highway and we get a red light: I felt like taking a photo: Nothing that probably hasn't been seen already: Garage Cafe: Good fuel economy on the way back home sticking to the speed limit. Filled up with 53 litres at this point: Not really part of the meet, but a nice light show in the city: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!

2 things: Thudd when taking off and Tyre Change
DJKOR replied to o12lando's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
Are you referring to the sound you get when you take off for the first time after starting your car, and it does not occur afterwards when you get your car rolling? If so, this is to do with the ABS. Every time you start your engine and then drive off the ABS performs a self-check. The service manual best describes this: -
why my aurion have high fuel consumption?
DJKOR replied to henryaowang's topic in Aurion / TRD Aurion Club
You guys need to chill out. I'm posting from my phone so I don't have time to listen to respond to all the argument, so I'll just answer the question being asked. I also can't provide links because I have limited abilities on this phone. Firstly henryaowang, the main issue you are describing has actually been discussed before, just a little bit of common sense should have been used to narrow down the issue. This is not some special case as you may think. The fuel gauge is meant to show as empty when there is still about 10 litres left in the tank. It's like that probably due to the design of the tank. Do you really think your car would have made it the first 470km if it was consuming fuel at the rate you specified (11 litres for 35km)? If you were using fuel at that rate, the 470km that you travelled would have used something like 150 litres of fuel. For mostly highway driving, your consumption is on par with an Aurion that does a mix of city and highway driving (10-12L/100km). As it is a new car, a slight increase in consumption is expected, and it will go down the more you drive it. So take a chill pill everyone. There is nothing wrong with your car henryaowang. It's just new. -

Good stuff. I've just gone though the final checklist and will be departing Brisbane in just over an hour -
I think he was referring to the parker lights and not the indicators. If you change your indicators to LED's by the way, you may need to replace the flasher relay as it relies on the resistance from the globes to operate. Edit: Beat by a couple of minutes.
