  1. The question is though, how much compensation would it add for a difference in intake temperature of 20 degrees? Cause if it was only 10HP compensation, that brings me to the same power as Rowan, which also means that I effectively got the gains of that SRI without the extra effort. The only way to settle this though is to run it at the drags. Rowan... it's on. Not only that, we need to take it to the track. Sigh... I better whoop you a55 after going through all that effort again.
  2. LOL. Yeah, those Michelins were on their last bit of tread and definitely didn't like the wet.
  3. Pretty much anything around the centre console and dash in my Aurion creaks when I push my hand or anything else against it. Doesn't bother me too much though. That's what music is for
  4. I'm keen alright. As long as we run the same weight reduction, LOL.
  5. When you compare the AT-X to the SX6, what exactly do you look for with your car? Both offer different features and styling. For example, the engine is exactly the same so there's nothing different there, but the Sportivo offers stiffer sports suspension, alloy wheels, better seats, an upgraded Optitron dash cluster, and nicer styling in my opinion. That being said though, if you manage to do some styling to the AT-X, they can look really nice as well. It also depends on if you plan on modifying anything with it. If you were to leave it stock, the Sportivo will handle better than the AT-X, but will be less comfortable. So if that's the case, are you after comfort or handling?
  6. It felt like it. Definitely would go again. I can't say whether one provided more benefit than the other, but the combination of the strut brace and rear sway bar really made Nebo much more enjoyable. It took the corners with more stability and was even better when you had to so 'S' type bends. I wish I could say the same about my brakes. I think I need some new rotors and pads. One things as well that I noticed around Nebo, but is also the same for wherever I drive is that bump steer has been reduced quite a bit since installing the two components and it makes it way more comfortable to drive. Unfortunately you are only limited to how fast the person/group in front of you is going. I was following a 180SX that was taking wide turns while I was staying in the right lane the entire time. It got to the point that I had to give a fair bit of room for him to get up ahead since I could take corners fairly quick and constantly catch up with him. It wasn't really the best way to test it out to it's potential. On a side note, since installing the two, I've noticed the traction control has started to go lazy on me now which is kind of a good thing. I can be taking a hard turn (first found this out around Coot-tha) and the rear will slip out and slide a bit through the corner while the front wheels keep pulling it in line, and the traction control just doesn't care.
  7. Haven't done a comparison run yet. I will need to do that when I'm not competing to get the highest HP, otherwise I'll just do 3 runs of each. Sometimes the third run gives the highest figure so I don't want to be changing the Varex between open and close when doing a shootout.
  8. But on the Aurion, it is a direct swap over from the 16mm rear sway bar to the 19mm version. There is no additional bar that can be added at this point in time. That extra 3mm doesn't make it much closer to the surrounding components and it is damn near impossible to mount the wrong way around. So this just means that something is loose, or that he has used the mounts that came with the bar.
  9. Yeah, it has been covered before, but in a different titled thread unfortunately. Some people may not realise though that if you do a search for a term, the results it brings up WILL have that search term in it. I usually scout around for the answers like that, but not everyone is the same. Anyways, as SecaBoy said, it does tie in with the SRS, so it's not worth messing around with. What's more important, your safety, or having no chime for not wearing something you should be? My best answer would be:
  10. Did you re-use the original mounts that hold the sway bar bushes in? The white mounts that come with the Ultra Racing sway bar aren't bent at the proper angle and doesn't have a perfect fit if you try to use them and as a result, they may create some knocking.
  11. Well Evan, not all Boost Cruises end up with problems. Not a single issue with cops on the entire trip. Just one cop who happened to be stopped in the middle of a long stretch of road watching 25 or so cars drive by. It was actually quite a good cruise. I may have gone through 2/3 of a tank of fuel, but it was enjoyable. No hooning like you usually hear about from others.
  12. Same here.
  13. +1 LOL + 1 If I need to get to BP Yatala in 20 mins, I'll definitely have 'the cheese' on my back.
  14. I'm running towards the back of the pack. There's only so many people they can radar before I get around And that's where CB's come in handy.
  15. Yeah, it felt good because it was a Toyota that got it. A couple of the guys there are Toyota Master Technicians so they were welcoming to the Toyota. No one rocked up for the N/A 4cyl even though there was a class for it. I left before he did it, but one of the guys there from Elite put his Swift on the dyno for fun though at the end of the day.
  16. But by running it un-oiled, don't you run the chance of fine dust entering the intake? I've heard that even foam filters need to be oiled.
  17. ^ That's more like it. It looks so much more at home in those photos... unlike the numerous ones you see just driving around the city and never in their life touch a patch of dirt.
  18. Okay, so now I'm at home with a little more resources to make a post, here goes. All up, it was a great day. The atmosphere felt much more welcoming than that day at Fat Pipes, and the guys working at Elite Automotive were really friendly. Anyways... Firstly, Rowan's rims don't look so bad with the red don't they: Now I had my camera in the car and didn't get to capture 'FAT GTR' on the dyno which would have been sweet, but at least I got the following video. It managed 459.6HP, but then: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! And the damage done in as a result: It also managed to cut the fuel line which was noticed once it was pushed outside, as well as the handbrake cables. As for the dyno results, Chris (00UCH) went first up, followed by me, then Rowan, and then Ash. The results for the N/A Aurion though are as follows: Chris - 193.1HP (144kW) Daryl - 209.9HP (156.5kW) Rowan - 199.7HP (149kW) Here's how I see it in terms of comparisons. I think mine was compensated for a bit because my intake temperatures were higher. Now I can't tell whether this was true or not, but I can say that my intake does scoop in some air passing through the radiator. As well, with Rowan's SRI, because the hood was up, it could have been possible that the air he was taking in was in fact cooler than what it would be with the hood down. Either way, for the sake of comparison, I think only Chris and Rowan's should be taken into consideration. So Chris' car just had the rear mufflers removed (which I think does not make any power gains) and had just installed a Volo OBDII performance chip (which I reckon makes no difference to power figures). So essentially, all that Rowan had extra that could affect performance when compared to Chris was a SRI, and no exhaust resonator. With the conditions being the same, you can then see that either or both of those changes (I'd say SRI) have given Rowan a 5kW increase at the wheels. A small increase... but an increase nevertheless. With Chris obtaining 144kW at the wheels, maybe this is what the Aurion's do get when stock since marc2020 got the exact same result on a stock Aurion Touring. So onto my result, I don't really think I have more power than Rowan, but I reckon that if I did another run, I would probably get close to the same power at the wheels as him. My stock intake has essentially been made free flowing so it probably flows just as well as his SRI, so it would probably show that an increase can be made there by freeing up the intake. Anyways, my figure on the day was enough to at least get this in return, so at least I feel good that the Toyota held up strong against the others:
  19. I was considering going today, but don't really think I can since it leans I would need to leave home now and won't have time to sort stuff out around the place that I was meant to. Been so busy. Plus, I'm going to save my fuel for a cruise tonight... most likely 100% Nebo Run.
  20. OMG, I think this thread is best closed as it's just plain stupid now. You go ahead and do what you want. I'm a believer in natural selection... some people just have to learn the hard way. You really think you are learning? Won't be so awesome once someone wrecks it after you p!ss them off.
  21. I'm out of the house at the moment so I'll do a better post when I get back. To sum it up, the entertainment was watching 'FAT GTR' pull 667hp with ease, and watching a 180SX snap its tailshaft which I got some video and photos of. The dyno for the Aurion's... well that didn't quite work out accurately. Will post again later.
  22. I think the lesson here is that you should not give chase to others over an incidence like that, and try not to annoy others on the road to prevent this from happening to you. For safety, keeping a 4-6D Maglite in the car won't hurt. Off topic: That is a massive signature you have there. I think you should tone it down a little.

    Opps.....

If you're referring to the Toyota service advantage, they can simply look up your VIN number at the service department and you can still take advantage of the service plan.
  24. LOL.... the Camryder. I saw that a long time back... I nearly threw up as well when I saw it. Edit: I specifically rememeber one video... The Camryder: Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  25. Imagine the look on some guy coming along there next following this long skid marks. But yeah, that was one sweet as burnout. Even over the speed bump
